Hey all, thanks for the continued support of Solo, and the positive feedback for the channel so far! Let us know if you have any particular requests for vids/lessons using solo, and happy practicing!
Hey I am purchasing solo right now! Please do a vid lesson Lydian b7 scale ⚖️ much love. I have recently had some not so good days. I grew up playing piano but now I am ready to start my guitar journey and all I can think about is staying alive to get fluent in guitar. You and ton Quayle and your passion for teaching and sharing guitar has been a light in my life. Thank you for all you do and may you be blessed
I am soooo SOLD on SOLO! Because of this app, I am obsessively practicing now, re-learning all of the scale patterns/shapes/boxes that I have brainlessly learned by rote, and “re-formatting” my knowledge(or relative lack of) of them by learning to really SEE, and even more important, HEAR the intervallic functions of every note as it relates to the chosen root. Hands down, the BEST $15 USD that I’ve ever spent on a guitar learning app!
This video is a total GAME CHANGER! I would never have thought to use Solo in this way. Will definitely bookmark this for future reference. Keep these amazing tutorials coming. I would also suggest adding this video to the Tutorials section of the Solo app; it’s just that good. 👏 👏 👏 🙏 🙏 🙏
Thanks Eric, thrilled you're enjoying solo and the video content. That's a good idea to add some of these to the tutorials section of the app. Will get on it 👍🏻
OMG, your lighting!! perfect. Solo app is cool too. I wish it would work on my PC which is central to my studio. I have wasted my whole weekend trying to mirror my Android phone to my PC just so I can practice my intervals. : o P
Hi David, as you mentioned in the video it would be a great addition if SOLO could listen and check same intervalic functions but from other shapes. And an optional Timer per intervalic function would be great.
@SoloApp Do you have a video applying these ideas to the issues related to the standard B and E string tuning on the guitar? Tom uses 4ths tuning I believe. Looks like you may use standard tuning. How should standard tuning players think about these concepts?
I love the part where you said you csjt conolete the descending intervals unless you have extended range. I have an 8 string! Guess ill be tuning to fourths to have less quirks
Hello David, awesome lesson. I have a question about intervallic function system. For example traditional system teaches us to play minor pentatonic starting from different boxes(shapes). If we play from fret 5 string 6 - tonic A is there at the beginning. But with other shapes we start from p4; p5; b7. So the questions are: 1) should we(the students of your system) grind those shapes? or using solo's training mode - 4 to 4, 5 to 5, b7 to b7, are just enough? even when we start the drill that way first thing we do is searching the root first, and thinking with shapes we know shapes from string 6 always 2) when should we consider ourselves competent at particular scale? and move forward on training other scales? I hope i was clear with my thoughts. English is not my main language. Thank you for solo app btw, it really opens my eyes on theory even tho the concept is pretty simple.👺
thanks, super helpful. one issue - saying out loud - which definitely is the way to burn it in - seems to trigger greying out of notes inadvertently. I had to stop and do it quietly to get through it unfotunately. Also - is there a way to alter the auto greying out after some seconds ? it seems to start fast then slow down. thanks
Is there any way to set it for the same root all over the fretboard? So you can practice just the one note/interval ? At the moment you have to select a jazz song etc as well so the notes keep changing after the root is played. I just want to practice the same note all over the fretboard.
Is there any chance I can buy it on the Apple store and then use that account for the android? (Might be a dumb question) I've borrowed a friend's iPad and I'd love to get stuck in while I have it.
"Solo android users" :I heard there was a big update for MacOS "only"...is the app worth it with this "preference" for MacOs users. I mean, should I get the app even though I won't get the update since I don't have an apple device?
Between these videos and the SOLO app, I , keep having "light-bulb" moments kind of like when a magician shows how he pulled a quarter out of your ear. 20 years of noodling the same tired scales and riffs because I was too intimidated to dive into theory, if only I had this back then I may have my own signature guitar... or just actually understand how to play. Cheers!
It’s never too late to dive a little deeper with the instrument. And it can be a hugely rewarding process. Good luck on the journey, we’re glad sølo can be some help on it!
To all people that use SOLO app - are you using standard guitar tuning or perfect forth tuning? How much harder standard tuning makes using SOLO? David Beebee, your playing guitar in standard tuning?

Excellent!
Can the .pdf file be printed out? It would be great to have it as a reference while you are running the exercise. Thanks!
Just got the Solo App an love it! Do you have an interval PDF for us standard tuning guys? Could only find Toms but he tunes in 4ths. Cheers

I have an acoustic guitar ..will the app recognise its sound?
I just started the video, but already liked it because of the thumbnail
haha glad you liked it, I had right fun making it
Thank you a lot, very interesting and useful. You talk a lot like Tom 😀! You must know each other very well I guess..
haha many hundreds of hours in zoom calls developing this thing! 🐝
Awesome, Looking forward to the Andriod version, no rush though :)
Thanks for the patience dude! 🙏🏻
It would be great if solo could display notes together with the intervals. Was there a fundamental reason not having this as a function?

Chadding it up!

Hi Richard, unfortunately not, they are separate ecosystems and we would have no way to allow it even if we wanted to! Sorry.
@@SoloApp old question sorry guys was just desperate to try it lol. Bought on Android.

Aaah what's in the 📦?! 😂
no octave for the 4?
What do you mean by "no octave for the 4?"
@@graycolors2879 I made a mistake...lol
I dont think solo is on andriod
Should have discounts for existing solo users who supported the app
