Jonathan did an awesome job with the score and songs for the Queen of the Damned adaptation movie. I've listened to them all and they elicit all the gloom, despair, love, hatred, sex...all these internal struggles that I'm sure a vampire like Lestat had. Aside from that, I was very disappointed when Jonathan would not be featured on the soundtrack album. Though I love each and every one of the artists he amassed to cover the songs, Jonathan's voice carries the feelings and the enchantment that drew me into the film. If the label was in the know that he would have been doing these songs that would eventually be on a different label, shouldn't they have reiterated the outline in the contract where it says he can't release any songs under another label? Aside from it all, it's very disappointing that I can only hear his voice in the film. Good job on the soundtrack Jonathan. I think you did an amazing work with the selections as it fits the movie perfectly.
Hey ppl, I can't believe, that I'm the only one, who got this magic: when JD told the sentence 'that was all about money' -- Metallica just started to play Extasy of Gold that very moment. Enchanting! XD
You could have gotten anybody else to sing those songs... But anyone can tell those songs are Jon's... They sound so Jon they're Jon's no matter who sings em
Jon...youre listening to Gabriel and Zappa. That's cool but try listening to DAVID BOWIE, Kate Bush, Pj Harvey, Nick Cave.....Im sure they can give you even greater influence.
