When it comes to subscription based software, the first three months after launch the product will lose money since printing/distro costs more than the product sells for, but after a bit the current users will surpass the costs so the product makes pathetic money. To keep the new users coming in, you have to spam out as many updates as you can, and/or expansion packs every few months. Subscription based software can be REALLY profitable (e.g, subscription based sequel to already 5-6 heart software category) but launching a sub software can also be a huge waste of money.
To get marketing up, there's an easy process to follow: In the design phase, write a press release. Near the end of the phase, set a release date. This depends on what difficulty you're playing. In easy, it's 2 years. In impossible, I think it's 1 year 4 months, but you can check that. Inside this window, marketing efforts are effective. Outside it, they make no difference. It begins when you set the release date. Release the press release. The number of followers shoots up, plateaus, and then begins to fall. You should time it so that it plateaus right as you go into alpha development. If it begins to fall, that's what hype is for. Hype slows down how fast followers fall away. As soon as you're in the alpha phase, write a press release. You've got a team that can right 3-star releases for maximum impact. Release it when they finish it. Watch the follower numbers. Begin hype as soon as the plateau switches to falling so the rate is as low as possible that they fall away. In the beta phase, write a press release. Release it as soon as it is ready. You might not need hype depending on how close the release date is. Release a press build when you're not finding many bugs. Giving a buggy build to the press lowers their evaluation. Who wants a buggy review copy? Don't release it at the beginning of the beta phase. You should have at least two months before the release date so that it can hit the press and so that follower numbers can grow. The timing takes some experimentation. You don't want to see any falling off after the press build.
This man is clearly living in his Steve Jobs speed run era with the Pixar… but games. What a legend. (Side note: I feel like buying the sides and make it a quad to expand out the updates team could be cool)
You should really try out some mods on the steam workshop. There are a few really good furniture mods like Outdoor Living and Construction/Office Accessories that were recently uploaded there that I think you can make pretty good use out of.
Do you actually have to have 2 teams to run a day and night shift? or can you just change the start/end times for half the staff and have the Leader cover a time that overlaps both working times.
To get more space in your current building u should build a canteen/ meeting room in the parking spaces in the front (it will help feed people in the factory too) plus allows u to expand marketing etc
Dylan please play Software inc more than once a year. You become my entertainment every time you play this game and I really have to go and search for something else when your playthrough stops.
Can you please stop hyping projects months before release its loosing you followers on products do it one maybe two months before release its a multiplier of the fans you already have
1:01:27 if they flop turn them into your porting and updating teams sort of a punishment for making horrible games. Maybe turn the “vector” company into an antivirus company.
I'm pretty sure the Porting Team leader was a level 3 in HR but the reason why the HR team leader was not a level 3 was because of their trait ( Occasionally forgets specialization).
Dylan your not using your subsidiary in the right way. You need to untick the box under your subsidiary and then go to products and the speciation of your subsidiary. It can only to that one thing. Also using a 100 milion company for updates is kinda a waist of its potential. It cut be making you billions.
See it more as a valve alternative, started with games, now starting more controllers and other devices Not only that blizzard is only making sexual harrasment cases so not really a good org is it?
Lmao "let's do a branching story because we might as well" instantly clicks it off again xD
Game developers before charging $100 for their game

U could have educate the poor update team leader
I can't imagine a modern day smartphone with any built in notification system.
I'm looking like wow no notifications
20 employees calling in sick in 2020? This game is super realistic.
Doors 2.....missed the chance for Double Doors lmao
Haha, Nice
If i read that correctly you are only profiting $30 for every phone you sell. $175 manufacturing cost $90 store cut sells for $299
biggest flex would be to build an addition to your office for the awards. Build an award wing! A fitting retirement gift for Dylan Conflict!
Phone Name Idea: Nerdrosoft Nebula
Instead of talking about expanding the various teams, just do it. Your going to keep pushing it off until the last minute.
Because of the complaints about nowhere to sit, I usually just set my shifts to be 7 hours and I have three shifts
Why don't you let the subsidiary do the port jobs? At least let them do a few to relieve stress from the porting teams.

the amount of bugs really hurting your sales, the more on top of the bug fixing are you the better
CEO Dylan is bringing back the mid-90s brick phone.
Do you actually have to have 2 teams to run a day and night shift? or can you just change the start/end times for half the staff and have the Leader cover a time that overlaps both working times.
I think he can do a three shift system and yes you can customise the working shifts of every team
Phone name: Eclipse
TWO IN ONE DAY IS SO AMAZING!

I didn't see if you went into the Finance menu, Accounts, and Select Accounting (N) to do Accounts.
is it possible to make your subsidiary make exclusive games judt for your hardware?
@ConflictNerd can you make the hardware building alternate the direction of the tilt of the building. It would look more interesting
I would Love the Option in this game to update the Tech-levels before the Release

Go through the different planets for the phone or console as sequel names
Can you please put an award in the main reception that slows dirt accumulation? 😘
This game has so much potential in the future and I'm excited to see what they can do
Console release ?
Wait. Is that Endermen leaving the building right at the opening of the video?? Sus!
Nerdrosoft could be abbreviated to NS instead of dropping it entirely.
You released Suite Pro for $3 per period (month or year?). Maybe increase the price a bit? I'm pretty sure real-world MS Office is like $10 per month.
Fun fact, 'samsung' is Korean for Galaxy (or rather 'galaxy' is English for 삼성 'samsung')
Dylan, you should get your hardware going up to a helipad on the roof, much easier and you don’t need couriers 👍🏻
What if Doors 2 was Double Doors
KINGDOOM COME!
I'm pretty sure the Porting Team leader was a level 3 in HR but the reason why the HR team leader was not a level 3 was because of their trait ( Occasionally forgets specialization).
I should've commented this a loooooOOOOONG time ago but what about an office software called Cubicle?
Can’t you make the subscription price higher when you have brought up the tech levels?
Product name idea: Nerdrosoft Nova
And then a pro edition could be supernova
Just a reminder update the phone
Can you build a secret gold Vault?
Lovely episode. Thanks.

think microsoft 365 is subscription based
yeah you could of just educated the port team leader
Why are you making phones I mean you don’t see blizzard making phones?
I mean they did identify their problem with Diablo Immortal - people not having phones
See it more as a valve alternative, started with games, now starting more controllers and other devices
Not only that blizzard is only making sexual harrasment cases so not really a good org is it?
Conflict nerd if you do pass through in the teams assigned room they won't complain about not haveing a place to sit
What da hell happen to episode 14 i wanna see the last days of Dylan conflict 😭😭
Episode 14 was where he built the factory
