I've seen a few Dan Vasc videos, and I can safely say that everyone who watches this video of his actually sees the vocal transformation (after the harmonica solo) take place. The transformation is when he flips his hair off of his right shoulder. This is his subliminal cue that he is about to bring everything he's got to his performance: poker players would call it a "tell."

Really amazing version of the song. I remarked on his vid it was one of the best covers of this song I've heard but I want to say now it's the best. I share your thought regarding the first and second part. Said nice clean voice but not quite out of the ordinary. Then came the harmonica which I quite liked following which everything exploded as he upped the tempo. All in all an excellent cover and exceptional range.
