2021 New Sewing Pattern! March Dress (Helen's Closet Patterns) | Sew Along Tutorial

- Helen describes this as a fun retro-style pattern featuring voluminous sleeves with a gathered skirt when made as a dress and a gathered or straight peplum when made as a top. I must say I strongly agree with her statement!
My measurements are 33” 28” 36" and 5’4" tall.
I made a size 4 for both of my March.
Modifications I've made :
For the March Dress out of bright warm beige with striped panels, I shortened the sleeves to 7.5" and lengthened the hem to 17”.
And I thought I wanted a deep neck opening but changed my mind after trying it on. (It was too deep.) For a quick fix, I used short zigzag stitches (a few stitches in a couple spots) to make the opening shorter.
For the dark one, no modification except lengthening the hem.
Enjoy making your March Top/Dress for Spring!

I followed along with your lovely tutorial to make this dress, and it came out so lovely! I like that you included the yarn zigzag gathering technique; I was able to use it, and it made gathering the seam so much easier. Hello! What are you wearing in minute 1’22 on the video ? A beautiful, slightly off the shoulder top in taupe, and a cream colored bottom (skirt? Pant?). Do you have a sew-along for these items ?
Hi
The top is an over 10 yo oversized RTW and the shirt is a modified Estuary Skirt from Sew Liberated and I have a video! 😊
