Bloemhof residents living in low-lying areas are being evacuated

Disaster Management teams in the North West are evacuating people living in the low-lying areas of Bloemhof, as the area is flooded. This follows the opening of over ten floodgates at the Vaal Dam and some sluice gates at the Bloemhof Dam.

All houses must be above the shops, not near water. Walls could all go. Bloemhof Dam is low. So if things in later days or months the whole town can be under water. This is your answer

Department of Water Affairs must start doing their jobs properly. Surely managing the opening of sluice gates can be managed MUCH BETTER from the Vaal Dam down to Bloemhof Dam and lower down!!! You wait until the dams are 100% to 110% full, then it is too late to manage the outflow! Department of Water Affairs also do not listen to the residence living in these areas when the residence try and talk to them... They are not prepared to listen. I know this for a fact! Dear South African Government - you are letting the people of this country down! Eskom, flooding that could have been managed better, potholes. This country is being destroyed up by incompetant leaders who are only looking after themselves.
