Actually the lataratara part is really a luluby that Pablo's grandma used to sing when he was little. The whole lyrics wrote by Pablo literaly for their parents mama and papa, that was mapa came from and also its a tagalog word for map. Coz parents are like the map on every journey that they're taking. Another one is ma for mata means eyes, and pa for paa means feet. So their parents are their eyes and feet growing up (metaphor). Came from the brilliat mind of Pablo. Aswell as the groups other songs.
MAPA, composed by their leader Pablo. In Tagalog, MAPA usually refers to a MAP, but Pablo sees it as a tribute to our parents who guide us through life's journey, akin to a MAP guiding travel. Additionally, MAPA holds familial significance, representing both "MAma" (mother) and "PApa" (father). Breaking it down further, "MA" symbolizes "MAta" (eyes), and "PA" signifies "PAa" (feet) in Tagalog, adding layers of meaning to this creative linguistic play.
The song "MAPA" serves as a heartfelt tribute to the unwavering support and love of the artists' parents. It conveys the message that it's now the artists' turn to work and provide for their parents, acknowledging the sacrifices and struggles their parents endured while raising them. It symbolizes a sincere effort to reciprocate the care and dedication received during their upbringing.
Pablo beautifully compares our parents to a guiding map in life's journey. Similar to how a map directs us anywhere we go, our parents provide guidance and support throughout our lives. They are like a constant beacon, helping us navigate through challenges and uncertainties. Just as a map helps us find our way back home when needed, our parents are there for us in times of need.
As we journey through life, we encounter various modes of transportation such as vehicles, airplanes, or ships, each representing the highs and lows we experience. Despite facing ups and downs, riches and setbacks, the map of parental guidance remains our steadfast companion. It serves as a tool to overcome loneliness and adversity, ensuring that we find our way through life's trials with their unwavering support.

And would you believe Josh, Ken and Pablo are considered the group's rappers? This group has no boundaries. MAPA written by Pablo when he asked the members when they were doing laundry what they wanted to tell their parents and this is what came out of it. And what's more touching is Josh's part about dads. When you get to know their background, stories, and struggles, you'll understand how hard it hits when he sang his part🥺😭

A Map guides our direction just like our Mama & Papa guides us though life. They are our eyes and feet growing up. Genius lyrics by Pablo with the help of the boys. He asked them one day during their tour while doing their chores at home what they want to say to their parents as they have not been home for a long time & was able to make MAPA.
Lataratara also means grandma's rest, coz that is the lullaby Pablo's grandma uses to sing to them growing up. Such a heartfelt and touching song indeed. ❤️🥹

MAPA has always been my all-time favorite song from SB19, and its lyric video initially led me to them.
Part of the exquisite charm of this song is its very rich lyrical message and their overall performance. Too bad you did not get to read the english cc. Hopefully you can go back in your own time later to view it again..or even the lyric video. You would truly understand even better the essence of the song.
Incidentally lataratara is a lullabye.
Later on when you continue on exploring their other wonderful songs especially the ones in Filipino or a mix always view first their MV or lyric video, that way you will truly understand the song quality SB19 shares to the world.
