You count to 8 every bar, 2 count per beat based on how i hear the bars, and each subsequent repetition you leave another number silent, so at the 8th bar you just say 8 on the last beat, then the next bar you say it again, and the next bars you add a number before it. Example: 12345678 o2345678 oo345678…(etc) ooooooo8 (last ascending) ooooooo8 (now come down) oooooo78 ooooo678… (etc) 12345678!
