Love the fact that Stolas, Lucifer and Charlie follow the same path: They are absurdly and terrifyingly powerful BUT they choose to display only a minimal amount of this power. Prince Stolas is so gorgeous, and demon Stolas is horrifying, but hey, his Blitzy needed help so... The purpose justified the means.
The book does waaaaaay more than just create portals to the human realm. IMP using the grimoire for portals is like having a smart phone and only using it to make calls, completing ignoring all the apps. 😂

He lied to Moxxie to spare his feelings and even went as far as to actually GO and WATCH one of Moxxie’s show recommendations. He even shields Loona, Moxxie, and Millie after the epic battle before Stolas shows up, showing he’s willing to lay down his life protecting them. This episode shows he cares for IMP, he cares for Stolas, he honestly just doesn’t care for himself.

@@sunnijo I'd argue that Stolas couldnt do that THIS TIME, because he didnt realize he needed to memorize that spell. I imagine that the entire fight scene, Stoals was tearing through his library, looking for a Solomon's Grimore and a book on posession. He memorized the portal spell AFTER so he never had to do THAT again.

BTW Stolas was watching them thru the trip , watch for red eyes glowing in the dreams . He also shadows them in other episodes such as episode 1 with the murder family . He's a lot more aware than most people think.
I think some are made up (because the demon doesn't have a real counterpart, for example the sigils at Stellas brothers palace) but for those demons with actual real word mythology, they match pretty mich spot on
Andrealphus is in the Lesser Key and has a sigil as well. Every Sin and Goetia whose sigils we've seen have been from IRL texts. EDIT: Correction, Andrealphus was first mentioned in the False Monarchy of Demons, though was again mentioned in the later publication of the Ars Goetia as part of the Lesser Key of Solomon
Fun fact! Stolas cannot teleport to the human world in physical form on his own. He can be there as a spirit but needs to be summoned by a human to take full physical form. So he possessed Agent 2, made HER draw a summoning circle, then once the ritual was complete, he was able to manifest from her into his physical form. After that, he is able to do what he wishes in physical form (which is why he was then able to make a portal back to Hell for everyone).
You are wrong. In 'Seeing Stars' he opens a direct portal from Hell to L.A., without his grimoire mind you. He probably used the 'possession and letting himself be summoned' method here, because it's way more terrifying and impressive than simply opening a portal and walking through.

Imagine you've been living out in a lonely cabin, and all of a sudden, something ELSE is hunting the local game, you start finding _old meals_ out in the woods, and even worse, you notice the forest going silent when you go too far from the cabin. It's super disturbing, so you put up trail cams... And it's just fucking Big Chungus. It'd be wild as hell.
The truth serum trip songs are probably my favorite of the series. I love the change in art style and it's the big start to deeper characterization in the series and seeing how Blitz feels. Also they sound great.

I love this episode! To be fair, I can't think of an episode I don't love, but this one just has so much! Moxxie's musical meltdown, Millie's manic murders, Loona getting a reasonable amount of screen time, Blitz getting in touch with his emotions, Stolas' Daemonium Ex Machina flex. Not to mention all of the little things like the spit take, headless selfie, Pussy Destroyer, etc. So much awesome in one episode.
Haha, no. Stolas doesn't need the book to make portals. He's a powerful demon prince and it comes with his actual job as a celestial guardian and Ars Goetia. (The Just look my way video showed some of it) The whole posession and summoning ritual was just to showboat and scare the crap out of the agents and sabotage their equipment (and failed). Stolas mostly uses the grimoire to memorize his spells. Yes, this will be mentioned later again though not in too much detail. Stolas is the one who wields the magic, not the grimoire. This is also why Loona manages the book. Imps lack any form of magic. Hence why they go topside without a human disguise.
I think it has more to do with Stolas not knowing exactly where the imps were, so he had to do a summoning ritual, in order to go to them. That meant accessing the mortal plane Without its portals, making it need a host to be taken and expelled from the line between both worlds. I don't think he just wanted to scare, I think he couldn't really tell where they were.

I'm going to guess that Stolas probably tracked them through scrying. We know he's capable of that. His office has a lot of mirrors and he did it with the bubbles in his bath the first episode. He's a skilled magic user and 'has his ways'. Scaring the agents like that was not the best idea though because now they probably have his summoning sigil on camera.
this fight, in my opinion, was a one off. I have not seen this much effort from viz, since this episode. The fight and song in this episode, was next class, top tier, unmatched.
"Brandon is an amazing voice actor" Yes, but apparently he cannot sing to save his life :p That's why his voice sounded so different in Moxxie's hallucination.
The bit that gives me chills is when Blitz sees the tail feathers and for a second you see the confusion tinged with fear at what’s going on. And yes as the owner of a very nervous pupper myself- this is a pretty accurate visit to the vets for us! 😂

I think there's an obvious choice for who to go "toe to toe" with. Moxxie. No contest. Toe to toe implies close quarters combat. Millie and Luna are ridiculously dangerous in close quarters, Blitzo seems solid at both range and close quarters combat, while Moxxie is clearly specialized for ranged combat with his guns and is blatantly the physically weakest of the four. Even if we don't inherently mean melee combat by saying toe to toe, I'm not going to beat any of them at ranged combat without tons of luck because I have no experience with guns, and I have zero chance of overpowering anyone except Moxxie up close.
About Stolas & his book= If you've not reached season 2 yet, I won't spoil that and just comment on this episode. Note that Stolas didn't fully manifest at first, it was more of spiritual thing along the classical lines of "demon trapped in other realm influences human world". Even #2 being possessed falls into that, right up until she throws her head back and vomits the black smoke that manifests Stolas in the human world. Take note of moments before she did that. When Stolas-possessed her and turns her head 180 degrees, we see multiple people stand up with solid black eyes and act as one to draw a circle around #2. That circle was Stolas' sigil & the Book of Solomon says that demons' sigil could be used to summon demons into the human world. That summoning circle is not only reason why Stolas was able to go there without using the grimore (but note it IS in same room he's manifesting in) but according to lore, summoning circles were used to contain and bind the demon, not allowing the summoned demon harm the summoner. This could be why Stolas did not kill the two agents; he was unable to due to the summoning circle.
"Why don't they bring them in Hell"? Simple, the imps would get in trouble. If we go back to S1E1 Stolas states that he's been letting Blitzo use his Grimore to get onto Earth "less than legally". The imps are not suppose to go to Earth like they have. And yeah, I just remembered, you get answered by Stolas at end of this ep XD "If you(Blitzo) get into trouble, then I get into trouble." Though when you think of it, the upper powers SHOULD know that Blitzo IS going to Earth, as his business is known and for that to work, he has to be able to go up to Earth. That... and well it's canon that there are commercials in Hell advertising I.M.P.
So there is a hierarchy of power in hell -Lucifer being at the top -Charlie and Lilith -any of the sins (asmodeus, beezlebub,ect) -goetia (stolas) -overlords(Alastor, Vox, carmilla carmine) So canonically stolas is stronger than Alastor.
This episode took them MONTHS of extra time to finish. They kept posting saying the wait would be worth it. And then this came out and the entire fandom basically went, "Yeah, take all the time you need going forward." Loona... death has never looked so good. Just gonna leave that here.
Hazbin Hotel crew is already working on season two, should be released in like two years i heard, I'm not sure, season two i know is happening because they announced it in the season one trailer
Blitz=melee, ranged, and a mix of whatever. Moxxie=mostly ranged. Milly=Melee heavy, basically pure melee. Loona=mostly melee, but can adjust if needed. A solid team to be honest.

So they have eyes that glow, why on earth didn't Blitzo just grab Moxxie and use him as a light source? :p Otherwise yeah this episode's animations were all so badass! Dunno who I'd go up against, but Moxxie would probably be the least likely to just murder me for fun. And yeah, Stolas has magic without the grimoire, for portals and a human disguise at least.

That's because it's canonically wrong. Alastor is just an Overlord, no matter how powerful he is, while Stolas is an Ars Goetia. Even the weakest of his race would be stronger than the strongest Overlord, and Stolas is far from weak.

When Stolas-possessed her and turns her head 180 degrees, we see multiple people stand up with solid black eyes and act as one to draw a circle around #2.
That circle was Stolas' sigil & the Book of Solomon says that demons' sigil could be used to summon demons into the human world. That summoning circle is not only reason why Stolas was able to go there without using the grimore (but note it IS in same room he's manifesting in) but according to lore, summoning circles were used to contain and bind the demon, not allowing the summoned demon harm the summoner. This could be why Stolas did not kill the two agents; he was unable to due to the summoning circle.
Also, the fight scene goes EXTREMELY well with the Doom music. Few videos of that on youtube.
"Why don't they bring them in Hell"? Simple, the imps would get in trouble. If we go back to S1E1 Stolas states that he's been letting Blitzo use his Grimore to get onto Earth "less than legally". The imps are not suppose to go to Earth like they have.
And yeah, I just remembered, you get answered by Stolas at end of this ep XD "If you(Blitzo) get into trouble, then I get into trouble."
Though when you think of it, the upper powers SHOULD know that Blitzo IS going to Earth, as his business is known and for that to work, he has to be able to go up to Earth. That... and well it's canon that there are commercials in Hell advertising I.M.P.

So canonically stolas is stronger than Alastor.
This episode took them MONTHS of extra time to finish. They kept posting saying the wait would be worth it. And then this came out and the entire fandom basically went, "Yeah, take all the time you need going forward."

Blitz=melee, ranged, and a mix of whatever. Moxxie=mostly ranged. Milly=Melee heavy, basically pure melee. Loona=mostly melee, but can adjust if needed. A solid team to be honest.

So they have eyes that glow, why on earth didn't Blitzo just grab Moxxie and use him as a light source? :p Otherwise yeah this episode's animations were all so badass! Dunno who I'd go up against, but Moxxie would probably be the least likely to just murder me for fun. And yeah, Stolas has magic without the grimoire, for portals and a human disguise at least.
If I had to go up against one of them it would be loona because let's just say reasons

That's because it's canonically wrong. Alastor is just an Overlord, no matter how powerful he is, while Stolas is an Ars Goetia. Even the weakest of his race would be stronger than the strongest Overlord, and Stolas is far from weak.
@axemaster8331 alastor is purely an overlord through power and is clearly different than other overlords he hard clears all of them. And status doesn't strictly mean power. Evidence of that is an imp smoking stolas
