My rcp-2 just blew apart completely. Had to zip tie to make it home 7 miles on my Motoped. Should I grab a rcp2s or find something a little beefier? I’m 170 pounds but often ride with heavy backpack.
Hello guys, I have a DNM shock that I would like to service but it doesn't have a schrader valve for the nitrogen. Instead it looks like a hex screw with lock nut on it. How are these charged with nitrogen at the factory if there's no valve? Better yet, how do I service the shock without a valve? Would a schrader valve replace this hex screw and locknut?
@@rondg2 Hey thanks man!! I truly appreciate any help. This has become a big issue with most Chinese manufacturer and distributors. And communications and willingness to help is even worse.
Thanks for the useful video, I'm really struggling to find out what the ifp level should be at, it looks like you used 28mm from the video, could you clarify what depth you used and if it works well like that?
I use the cheapest dnm air shock they sell and had it for about 2 years, do you know if it can be serviced, since I can't find anything or any service manuals for it. Thanks!
just download pretty much any air shock service manual. they're all very much similar. just do an air can service, don't go looking for trouble inside the damper
@@rondg2 yeah the damper I heard is sealed an non serviceable but I'm trying to take the air can off, and it's a pain. Even wrapping a tube around didn't help😂
Did you found a solution? Otherwise it can be done by adding 25mm washers between piston and the cap to make it shorter. Bu you will reduce your travel go for ao 38 instead?
Good video but does it make any different to the shock like make stiffer or anything as my new rcp-2s very soft anything i can do to stop that or has to upgrade the 550lb coil to 750lb?
shallower IFP depth makes it more progressive. if 550 too soft then move the shock to a different mounting point if your frame allows it, if not then you gotta get a stiffer spring
Hi, how are you, what an excellent and interesting video, I liked it a lot in the way I explain it, only I have some questions, it can help me, the first is how he got the cover to inflate it with air or where I got the shock absorber, because it is pressurized with nitrogen and you did it with air how you did it or how you modified it I await your response, thank you
The difference between O and N is that Nitrogen is less sensitive to temperature, so it does not varies its pressure with temperature changes. As he said, if you're not an expert rider running a world cup, you won't notice any difference. (And if you are, you wouldn't have this beautyfull budget piece of crap jajaja)

@@alejandropedraza9911 ...not true. The gas-law is the same for Nitrogen as for air. BUT... Nitrogen can keep its pressure for longer as it does not leak as fast. And it is dryer, so potential less corrosion.
Thanks for sharing the video. I am wondering how you established 200psi for your fill? I watched your video on the Schrader valve mod and was thinking if the factory uses a rubber plug and fills by poking a needle through the plug, would that rubber plug even hold 200psi? I have no idea myself, I'm asking incase you have any additional insight.
So how deep into the reservoir does the IFP go? I see you measure it with the vernier caliper, but where did you set it? (And where did you find that info?) Thanks.
@@Cpt_zhengit depends what the eye to eye length is, just check with the seller you brought from what the stroke is, then convert from mm to inches and you’ll get the right spring dimensions
Beautiful tunes man, very relaxing compared to others that have annoying loud music. Thanks for the vid.
How many inches did you push the plastic plunger in?
Hi , what's the distance of IFP piston in the piggy back ? In the video with the caliper you don't see the depth measurement.
don't worry it's not critical. this isn't for a space mission
what is the size of the shrader valve that you used for the air cap?
whta type of fluid is used to fill the damper ?
Finally got this usefull video... Thx bro
Is this shock any good?

What tool do use to tighten the shock spring preload lock ring? You don't show that last step in your video. Thank you.
just hand tight. i'm not putting a lot of preload
What oil did you use for it?
The whole process is clear to me besides that.
now using putoline 2.5wt
Non ci sono ricambi da sostituire? Era senza olio di serie?

How does the rebound and compression adjustment work?
Bro, what is the oring ? Valvule compression?
@rondg2 I have been working on a project for maintenance of dampers. Can I use snaps from your video?
Sure
Is this the same as the one on the sur ron ? I think I need to service mine cause I have no more compression or rebound dampening any more
Yes same model
Ah the tingling feeling again...
How has the shock been working for your since the service?
it's been working perfectly. and it's on an electric dirt bike, a lot more stress than a bicycle
What model DNM?I want buy DNM for my dh bike 240mm
Ifp height?

Hi pls see my other video about Schrader valve mod
Doesn't it work better if you fill it with nitrogen instead of air?
Regular air is 70% nitrogen anyway so unless you're racing at the World cup you won't notice the difference
Air is 79% Nitrogen, 21% O2.
It was something about longevity and oxydation? Can't remember, so must not be important.

Someone should make a video on the right way to fill and bleed a shock, you are not doing it right :( . Been there, done that thrust me!.

air is fine, it's mostly nitrogen anyway
not correct procedure
Probably why it worked so well LOL
Why? 🐅
Maybe oil leaked past the seals? Didn't see where oil was removed...only added.
