    loved that- thanks for sharing:)
    I've found that doing standing form before tai chi enriches the quality of my tai chi. And I was surprised how much the standing form helped me doing aikido.

      Thank you! Yes, you are absolutely correct. I now try to go straight from Standing Meditation into my Tai Chi form. My goal is to keep that same feeling I get in standing meditation throughout my form. Like you, it has transformed my Tai Chi and the enjoyment of it! Thanks for your engagement in my videos and leaving comments!

      Thank you. It's a lovely place to be. During the last posture we are to strive for absolute stillness. When I'm there I see all the movement around me as if time around me is moving super fast, but where I am, is a nucleus of stillness.

    Excellent video. I used to stand "Post" quite a bit years ago. as part of my Bagua practice. Just started again as part of my recent taiji practice. We stand with a slight up and down motion bending knees slightly, experiencing the energy rooting from the feet and legs, and up to the head and back down in a cycle being very sensitive to body sense sensations, and breath cycling also.

      Yes, that will be the next development. Since this video was an introduction to Standing Meditation, I did not include all of the internal nuances. More to follow! Thank you for the positive comment and validation.

    Really great presentation. Do you feel Zhan Zhuang can be helpful in slowly healing and normalizing the nervous system, both central and peripheral?

      I place a lot of faith in Standing Meditation. It is so simple, yet so powerful. When doing it, listen to your body and do not push into discomfort. Then you will reap rewards.

    thank you, I've been studying ZZ for about 6 months now through books, videos and a workshop to help level up my tai chi. this is one of the best ZZ tutorials I've seen - the cues and visualisations are so good, I felt sensations in my shoulders and upper arms I have not felt before. I would love to see a ZZ series from you, maybe even a dedicated course with live interactions so you could provide corrections.

    • @InternalTaiChi

      Thank you! What a great idea for me to offer a course including live interactions on standing Meditation.
      I've been thinking about a new course topic. Your comment is timely!
      ZZ is so simple yet can truly ramp up every aspect of your energy and Tai chi or Qigong practice. What a perfect topic for my new course.
      If you'll sign up on my email list I'll let you know once it is completed and ready. I don't send too many emails out, I promise. 😊
      Thanks for the comments and course idea!

      Thank you! Yeah ..that's why I try to avoid Chinese terminology and attempt to speak plainly or anatomically instead. On this video I went out on a limb and brought in some Chinese terminology...botched pronunciation and all. I keep it real ...😎

      @@InternalTaiChi No worries !
      I live in a predominantly Chinese neighborhood, I was taught this (along with Tai Chi, etc.) by the locals (who don't speak English), and my wife who is a Chinese national !
      I had to hang on for dear life to learn this stuff !

    Once again thank u for your help I do standing about 10 mins 3 times a week then 5 mins for the rest interesting is my arms shake and not my legs I asked a friend and he said it might be down to the fact that I work on my feet most off the time so my body is used to standing I wonder if anyone else has had that happen?

    • @InternalTaiChi
      @InternalTaiChi  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your positive comment! If your arms are shaking from the fatigue of holding them up, try to imagine they are resting on a floating ball. Relax the muscles and let them hang as much as possible. Your arms or hands might be shaking from energy release. If that's the case just allow it and place your mind elsewhere.

    Great Instruction! I wonder, does the surface you stand on matter? Hard floor, mat, carpet? And how about shoes versus barefoot? (BTW, I bought the Soft Star shoes you recommended for Tai Chi, and I love them! Thanks!)

    • @InternalTaiChi
      @InternalTaiChi  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for the positive comments! I am wearing my SoftStar shoes right now.😄 You bring up a great question: If tolerable, I would recommend doing standing meditation barefoot, or in socks, or even in our SoftStar shoes. I needed a bit of padding to soften against my spine, so I do mine in socks on a thin rug. I tried it on my concrete patio and that was too harsh on my ankles and spine. The socks and rug was good. As I get better and have less heaviness in my lower body, I'll probably be able to go to barefeet, no socks. Some people may find starting out in shoes is most comfortable. However, most shoes (except for our SoftStar shoes) force our feet into a position and that effects our entire posture. That is why, if tolerated, barefeet would be best.

    Is song like a bliss? Or a flow?

    • @InternalTaiChi
      @InternalTaiChi  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rick, People experience song in many different ways. However, song is what elicits the Qi to flow, which then brings the "bliss" and "flow." So the first step is to open up the joints and relax the muscles. Then the Qi can flow, then you will feel the "bliss." I find that the Qi I feel during Standing Meditation is different than when I do Qigong or when ramping up my Qi for healing others. So different activities bring different kinds of Qi feelings. Songing the joints is the first step to all of it though!
