Finally a man with such a respectful view on women packing a lot for birth. It’s about comfort. Makes me sad how so many men make fun of women for packing a lot during such a stressful, if not traumatic event.
I appreciate the different perspectives that Riyan and Paloma provide the podcast, but the chemistry between Kenzie and Sierra is unbeatable. I would LOVE more regular Kenzie appearances! She's just so relatable
It’s so nice and refreshing to see Stephen talk so caringly about his wife during her birth. I read some reddit horror stories today about men acting up in the delivery room so it’s nice to see that dads can and do step up.
@@autumnssssssi get what you mean but what i’m saying is that it’s a nice reminder that decent people do exist compared to scaring yourself with horror stories about shitty guys
The bond between you and Kenzie is just the sweetest!! Truly a sisterhood and we love to see it!! Thank you for this lovely peak into your friendship, and thank you for being so real about birth!! It’s very informative and makes the idea of childbirth so much less fear inducing!! Alice is beautiful, congratulations again!! 💕💖
It’s so comforting knowing that Sierra got to do this birth in a way that she wanted. I know the first birth was SO hard because it felt like nothing went the way it was supposed to. Seeing Sierra as a mom of 2 has genuinely warmed my heart ❤
Adding Kenzie to this session instead of just husband wife. The third person pov is such a great way to retell for viewers. Gives a cool perspective you don’t get much with most birth stories. Congrats on the healing delivery of little Alice And I’m here for kenzies transitions. And great job Steven as well appreciate your perspective
I’m so happy Sierra is back!!! Don’t get me wrong, I love Riayn and Paloma, but there is something so special about having the OG Sierra on the podcast! And the combo with Kenzie was 10/10 !!
As a nursing student, I remember seeing my first C-section and I was shocked by how aggressive it was! I thought that it would be easy to just cut through and get to baby but there is so much tugging in order to get baby out
Wow amazing podcast, thanks guys for sharing. I was in awe with everything Steve was saying about Kenzie and the first trauma bond, and then that she was a big part of this one, But then I remembered Sierra taking an Uber in the middle of the night to be able to meet Kenzie’s kid and I’m so happy you guys have each other! 👯♀️
Great conversation! Would love to see Kenzie on the podcast more often! Loved watching the dynamic between Sierra and Kenzie, it was reminiscent of Sierra and Skyar on Sierra Unfiltered 😊
I have to admit I’m not much of a podcast person and only watched sporadically in the beginning when Skylar was on. I clicked on this sooo fast. Love Steven, and looove Kenzi. Had no idea she was sooo funny. 😂😂 I could watch Kenzi and Sierra all day. That has to be its own show.
The beginning is making me emotional. My best friend is pregnant, literally found out she’s having a boy yesterday!!!!, and I am so excited for this next chapter we’re entering. I love her just as you and Kenzie described your love for each other. I know my love for her will only grow when I see her step into a role of momma!!!
This has been my favorite episode of the podcast, your dynamic is really fun and so real, it made me feel like you guys were just telling me a (pretty funny) story as friends! Love the other episodes as well but this just hit different and I’m here for it
I wish there was a more regular podcast about mom life with Sierra and Kenzie. This was my absolute favorite episode yet. The two (three) of you were soooo funny and relatable ❤
Labor and delivery nurse here! Stadol and fentanyl are different, but they are both narcotics. Stadol has more side effects usually. It can actually cause hallucinations. Sometimes when I give it, my patients cry 😅 I definitely prefer to give fentanyl! The pronunciation of cholestasis is “coal-ee-stay-sis “ The pressure you felt during the c section is literally either the surgical tech or the first assist doctor pushing down on your upper abdomen, essentially to “squish” the baby out of the uterine opening. The immense pressure you felt probably actually was an entire persons weight on your body, which can be normal! Super exciting to listen to and hear your birth story ❤ thanks for sharing!
I wept through this whole video 😂 a beautiful birth story. As a long time viewer, I am so happy for you and can only imagine how healing Alice’s birth must have been for you.
Love seeing Kenzie and Stephen on the podcast!! It’s cool listening to their perspectives of your birth story! Fun fact, they only put you to sleep during a C-Section in emergency situations because that medication affects the baby and the baby would have to come out super fast!
Hi, OR nurse here. Totally normal to feel like there's the pressure of someone sitting on you because the assist is usually pushing pretty hard from the top to get the baby out once the uterus has been cut open. Very fun surgery to see/do and usually a very happy one too :)
So excited for the mom’s episode!! This one was awesome, thank you so much for sharing. I had an unplanned c-section that was definitely traumatic, and am planning for a scheduled c-section next time so it’s making me feel better to hear that you had such a healing experience.
I really love the dynamic of you and Kenzie!!! Just like Ryain and Paloma make a great duo too! I wonder if you guys could do more of these duos instead
This is sooo nice 🥹 I also had a scheduled c section and told them I had a phobia of needles. They denied me medication to calm me down before as well as my husband staying with me for the anaesthesia. I was alone while they were trying to place it for one hour because they couldn’t get through. Now I have this new massive trauma and I don’t think I can have another child 🥺
Don’t feel bad about your big suitcase!! One big box on wheels that carries EVERYTHING is SO much better than a smaller suitcase plus a bunch more small bags and a pillow. NOPE, one and done! I have done this, it’s so smart 👌🏻🤓
I'm mad at the nurse who denied you the juice, glad you can laugh about it, but why would anyone working in labor recovery "mess with" a freshly postpartum mama?!
My brother freaked out about Easter for my niece this year too. He had completely forgotten about it until the Thursday or Friday before. He felt so bad because that was his weekend to have her since she’s with my sister-in-law most of the time since they separated.
ive never had a baby but i had 2 surgeries, i was in the hospital for 2 weeks with one (1 week in bed and healing then 1 week in rehab learning to walk again) then another 2 days for a minor surgery, but both times i made sure i packed my own clothing and comfort item's ie: blanket, pillow, even a stuffed animal ( i was 21 the first surgery and it was the first time since birth that i had been in the hospital) lol but i defiantly remember having a big roller suitcase for me and my family member who stayed with me and my xl purse/backpack,
As someone who had their second child on Christmas Eve I totally understand Sierra's stress about missing Easter. You feel so guilty for ruining the other child's holiday even though it's so irrational haha
That was so crazy my name is Jordyn and I got engaged the day before Christmas - I was like wait a second did I submit that HAHAHA well congrats to my name twin for getting engaged
It took two nurses and an ultrasound machine over an hour to place my iv this time around. I stopped counting how many times and in how many places they stuck me. The worst.
I just had an emergency csection 2 weeks ago. And my experience was sooo different. They also sent me home like 30 hours after because where I am in Canada, there's too many babies and not enough hospital rooms... Long story short, we ended up back in the hospital 3 days later due to baby having jaundice and had to wait 9 hours in the ER with a newborn. So like the first 5 days of my babies life are a blur. 🙃
My baby also didn't get to do skin to skin with me until we got to recovery because she wasn't breathing and then when she was, I almost passed out. 😂🙃
Michael jackson was given propofol (which is what puts you under general anesthesia) and i think versad (which alot of people call twilight and its mainly an anxiety medication or given during dental and outpatient procedures)
first time watching this after being subscribed ever since it became a thing and ive been following her vlogs longer than i remember and it is wo weird hearing Sierra and steven both curse lol
Considering that babies are born everyday, a good nursing team should have the post partem process down to a science, including the use of anti nausea meds. No reason for Sierra to have to throw up with a C- section incision. Pain meds should also be consistent the first 48-72 hours for moms.
Not sure if you want this info but I can’t not give it as a nurse in L&D… someone was literally putting their full bodyweight on you when the baby was coming out to push her literally out. That’s the pressure you felt😂
pls add kenzie to the regular cast!! love seeing the side of sierra she brings out
agree! they should do one episode per month focused on mothering in your twenties (rachel can join too)
@@TheAlipop13i think there’s more than enough mom content on the vlogs
Yessss
Yes we love Kenzie girl 🩷🩷
motherhood is never the same + it’s totally different to have a sit down for an hour vs stopping every couple hours and mentioning something tho 😅
Do a special every few weeks with Sierra and Kenzie called twenty whatever momcast special
🙋♀️ I second this
I’d be so here for that 🎉❤😊
Here for this!!!! ❤🎉

First time I ever made it through an entire podcast in months. This felt so natural. So organic. So genuine. More of this please. Much more.
This was amazing to hear. Kenzie…you need to be a regular. I’d say Stephen too, but i think he’d be like yeah no 😂
I prefer the dynamic of these three over the 3 girls. Nothing against them, this just feels much more natural and interesting.
I’m so happy Sierra is back!!! Don’t get me wrong, I love Riayn and Paloma, but there is something so special about having the OG Sierra on the podcast! And the combo with Kenzie was 10/10 !!

You have such an amazing support system. Stephen rocks and Kenzie is the sweetest friend one can have.
Not me spitting my coffee all over my dashboard & steering wheel when Kenzie said “sorry I just feel like a little bitch” 😂
Wow amazing podcast, thanks guys for sharing.

Kenzie is that bestie that everyone needs and it’s so fun to see her personality shine. I laughed the whole pod cast!
Kenzie is soooo funny oh my god she needs to be a regular guest on the podcast!
Not Stephen having his own little Woo girl moment at the end when you said to follow his socials LOL😂

I don't know why, but the early "woo" that Stephen and Kenzie both did made me cry laughing!
This has been my favorite episode of the podcast, your dynamic is really fun and so real, it made me feel like you guys were just telling me a (pretty funny) story as friends! Love the other episodes as well but this just hit different and I’m here for it
It’s very clear that everyone needs a Kenzie in their life. ❤
Steven had me so dead about complaining about holding Alice
😂😂😂
As a new nurse this was very sweet to hear.
This podcast made me 🥹🥹🥰🥰😂😂 I miss P & Riayn but it was soo good to have Sierra back with Steve and Kenzie ❤
