What are your thoughts on Gogeta so far? What questions do you have about his gameplay? We'll be breaking him down in-depth later this week once he releases and I would love to cover everything that you guys are curious about!
A pseudo question/comment: I really like the double air dash option out of an uptech that happens at 3:44 as it looks really cool and adds a layer of defense to him. My question to you is how strong of a wake-up option do you personally think it is? Because while I think it looks cool, midscreen, it looks virtually impossible to punish (I know it's a bit hard to judge without being able to play him yet)
This character is just so cool it really flips the game on its head and i just know just for how he looks and how his buttons work that its going to be a blast to play with arcsys got another 5 dollars from me xD
Singe the breakdown i wonder because as you May know in sparking you can dash cancel in a combo so can you do a bnb and before the heavy a dash cancel (cause of the double dash he has)?
Gogeta seems like my type of character. Nice pressure, ok mixups and a lot of tools for conditioning, much like Vegito. The DP and the Level system are just the perfect amount of spice on top of all that. Thanks for the analysis and the educational content in general, btw. I didn't expect to love this game as much as I do (despite all of its issues), and your channel has been a big part of that from the beginning.
I don’t get this mentality from people. Yea I get it the DLC characters are strong, but do y’all just not want more diverse characters? Like I don’t think the new characters would be that fun or interesting if they were all like the vanilla cast; 2-3 moves and maybe a gimmick and that’s it, that’s boring in my eyes
@@Step43099 maybe because pay to win broken characters are not "diversity" but just that: pay to win? And who wants to play a totally unbalanced fighting game? Uigoku almost makes me quit, pretty sure i'm gonna put my 700+ hours in the bin and stop playing dbz if another one as broken as UI is released. And gogeta looks exactly like that.
If the character is trash, you'd scream buff him right? I would think a DLC would actually should be worth the extra money. He definitely doesn't look as stupid as ui when he first came out either.
Think of the overhead kick like UI's Godly Strike (otherwise known as the plus driver) but faster (the Medium version is plus on block and 30 frames versus UI's 31, but the EX one is 24 frames). If you have a punish for UI's Godly Strike, it'll probably work for this move as well.
@@hyge-j8384 That is the most straightforward way to punish it, yes. Remember 2H is head invincible- anything airborne (minus a few select cases such as 6M, UI's j.214H, and I believe 17's grounded Top Gear) will get stuffed by 2H. Gogeta's axe doesn't look like an exception (God, I hope it isn't). UI's also gets stuffed if you didn't know.
I wonder if his 5l and 2l have medium blockstun. The animation makes it so that your opponent is still in blockstun even after gogeta has retracted his fist but I can't tell if that's just the animation or an actual frame data change. Either way they emphasise his speed really well and it looks awesome!
To me that level 7 boost + Instant Kill is just too much imo. It should either 1- be more difficult for him to get that or 2- make him suffer consequences after using it. Either make his meter build really bad, or make the IK 5 bars at least, or make his leveling up system have way more startup and recovery or simply make it so the character is left with 1 HP after it... It's too busted at its current state. Keep the IK because it's cool and unique to the character, but make it waaaay tougher for him to get to that point where he can land it. A16's IK is maaaad slow and super tough to hit AND he ends up with 1HP after it.
I mean but comparing 16 to this isn’t exactly equal because one is a suicide the other is a power up. That being said we won’t know how much a player will reasonably be able to power up in a real match until the characters out and more people experiment. After all the character has no full screen presence and will be pressured by good zoning as well basically not using any supers until you hit lvl7 so it’s a small trade off, but this is only speculation on my part
@@Step43099 first of all, the move Gogeta uses to level up is super fast and can be easily done in neutral behind assists (depending on the assist he can even level up twice, as shown with Piccolo's A assists). If you have Gogeta on point you can round start with 5H which is crazy good, call assists behind it for pressure and level up to lvl 2 or 3 or maybe even 4 within the first 15 secs of a match, that's bonkers. Also, it seems you can't punish that level up move from Gogeta on reaction full screen, he can also do it when getting SNK after a combo or even if you use his A assist. There are soooo many instances where he can level up quite comfortably. And meter build in DBFZ is easy, so having 3 bars is super common. As you saw in the match between Tene and Apologyman it feels WAAAAY too simple and easy to get access to the IK in my opinion. Sure, he loses his levels after using supers but building them up again seems pretty simple and it doesn't take mad skill to get to lvl 7. When I brought up A16 IK I was just making a comparison to how that one is incredibly hard to land and there are consequences to the character himself. Making it useless. Gogeta's IK is easy to set up and ridiculously easy to land given his tools and it has 0 consequences. Too OP. That's the difference.
His air Eye attack is going to condition people into blocking my vegito JS, also it looks like it's faster too :( side note - buff vegito 5S and 6S so they can be used in neutral and not just block strings
The only thing I think that needs a nerf would be his ease of leveling up. There needs to be a way for the opponent to reduce gogeta's level. Either a level for each super he or his team is hit by, a level for everyone the opponent gets him into a sliding or hard knockdown, have him lose a level or levels when he's snapped out or in, or he could go down a level from what he was trying to level up from when you punish him doing the lvl up move. These are the only things I could think of, but it does give some sort of idea of what I think needs to be changed
Well one thing to consider is that if he uses a super at any point, it resets the lvl counter to zero. Meaning they have to get it to lvl 7 without using a super during the entire build up process. I would imagine that once the other two characters on the gogeta's team are defeated, it would be significantly harder to achieve the level 7 as your only quick option to level up would be to vanish right after, and that will be pretty easy to punish because it will be so much more obvious than your typical vanish. Plus it will start costing him bar.
hey rath is it possible to have a 1 on 1 custom/personalized classes? yes I would pay you like a tutor in college. I wanna see how far my potential goes. I have never been goos with fighting games and I seem to be pretty good on my own for now but I need so much more.
What looks most amazing to me is his powered up level 3 At first I didnt think that much of it, but then I saw how easily Apologyman pulled it off in a real match. My current plan with this character is to use him with 2 characters that don't really need assists, and call his A assist frequently. Then once I get a hit I'm going to tag out after the smash and kill their character for only 3 bars. Also, one of the characters I plan to use him is Base Goku, and apparently Gogeta SS4 can DHC into spirit bomb with his lvl 1 into the corner. So basically my gameplan is just going to be win the point war and then kill my opponent immediately.
my question is whats the difference between level 7 and level 6? is level 6 almost as strong as level 7 like does level 6 do like 85% damage or is it just level seven is crazy and nothing else really matters that much? (doesnt matter that much = an extra 600 damage for all that leveling up)
Lvl 6 does good damage but lvl7 will always kill. For an already pretty hurt character it prolly won't matter but lvl 7 will always be a threat to consider for characters with full or near full hp. This makes it more threatening after you consider gogeta's good pressure.
The instant kill big bang is a different input from his regular big bang. 214LM is his regular big bang, while 214HS(the instant kill) can only be done while lvl 7. Its also a bit slower than his regular big bang too.
i've got a question.... where the fuck does the J in SSJ come from? i know the original name is Saiyajin but in here we call them Saiyans... so SS4 makes sense SSB makes sense SSGSS makes sense but why SSJ? why not just SS or SS2 or LSS for legendary...

Idk if this will help or not but... almost all autocombos are safe. The 3rd hit of his autocombo (5LLL) does NOT hit crouching opponents although it is head invul, so it will anti-air you. His 6h rekka will not be broken as the low is pretty reactable and you could stand block him as he only has 2 lows. He isn't going to be as oppressive as you think because most people won't have good enough neutral to effectively play him. What we saw in this exhibition is not the norm.
