    Adrenaline is an amazing local track that puts a focus on community and atmosphere to make sure everyone is having a good time. Always worth to trip when I get down from pa.

      They turned it into a circle jerk oval party, and then ... well everyone here locally knows what happened. It's a shame to be honest, a damn shame.

    I'm sure you already know this but, for those that may not know. In 8th scale loctite EVERYTHING that is metal-metal. I personally like orange (it's a serviceable "red" loctite)

    I raced regular 8xe there last November with the normal setup I’d use for most tracks. I ran 5/5/3 in the diffs to make it forgiving to drive because I knew the track was going to be tight. One thing I noticed why my 8xe had more steering than my 8x elite is because the 8xe had the standard hexes all the way around while the 8x elite only had the +1 hexes in the rear. For more steering I ran the rear hole on the ackerman plate (I normally run the middle hole for most tracks). What the wider hexes do on the rear (JQ discusses this in his c-hub vs. pillow ball car video) is move the center line of the tire out more to reduce the scrub radius so the rear end won’t toe out as much on power. The 8xe kit setup uses the same camber link hole on the rear hubs as you were running there.

    Hey Ryan, nice video. As someone who's run nitro for years the little things can get you, but from experience you learn what to keep an eye on. Always use blue loctite on metal to metal, and don't forget to clean off the screw threads before putting it on. Keep an eye on your clutch bearings and shoes and motor mount screws. I've found that the TKO clutch bearings are worth the extra money - went from changing the bearings out before every qual and main to changing them ever gallon or more with no failures yet!

    I used to race an RC10GT back in the late 90's. I remember the weighted MIP 4-n-1 clutch being a game changer in the weight transfer response time. I haven't messed with RC cars for about 20yrs now, BUT, I found much better performance by running the weights and removing the springs all together... I had to use more brakes, and it certainly required more maintenance, but acceleration out of corners was never a problem with what I thought was an under-powered OS CV-12. Unconventionally for the time (maybe even now), I moved up to a NovaRossi CX12, which was far more powerful, and turned a lot more RPM. It wasn't as fuel efficient, and it was significantly harder on the clutch, brakes, rear diff, and axels, but I no one could match my corner exits... HoleShots had so much grip even back then, that it doesn't surprise me they are still a premium tire today.

    The struggle is real lol. I’ve only finished 4 races this year (Silver State, Fuel Nats, Tilted worlds and the PA State Championships) I had a front coupler grub screw back out right when my pit guy put me down and I had to race a 6 minute main with rear wheel drive only. Every club race I’ve done I’ve always had screws back out. I’ve had numerous king pin bolts fall out despite them being Loctited in there. It’s frustrating. About a month ago I got my first ever TQ under the qual points system and not even a half lap in after my pit stop 7 minutes in with a 5 second lead I hit the back wall and break an A-arm. I wasn’t as mad at that as I’d be at a screw backing out.

    The Hobbiwing Combo you are using is not the newest , but in my opinion it is still the best fro the 1:8 Offroad racing , 1900KV or the 2200KV are both great motors . I race them now for two years in my MBX8Eco and had never any issues , use it till it breaks down . The new ones have some problems but i think HW will fix it in the next few months .

    simple answer would be to go over every nut bolt as a preventative maintenance program between rounds . nitro cars produce alot of vibration and screws just back out . checking them between rounds will help catch the loose ones . but cant really do anything about the loose nut behind the wheel 😁😁😁 good job otherwise

  • @Luci-en
    @Luci-en 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Looked great mate! I feel like the car still needs some setup work though, I know you worked a lot on getting rotation but I still think there’s more there, I think maybe lightning the rear diff could help a little 5/5/3 or 7/5/3 in the diffs might help with that then again it could just be how the losi is as I drive an agama and that car has infinite steering.
    but considering the car didn’t look great you drove amazing! Keep up the 8th stuff your defo quick!

    I feel the same way about driving nitro, it is alot different than electric. Instead of point and shoot, you have to carry speed and momentum... Way different! I'm gonna run the nitro this weekend for the first time in 3-4 months. I found that learning to run nitro, while still trying to continue my program with ebuggy, I would get distracted and mad or whatever... it was just too much for me. I still race it occasionally, along with E-truggy, but mostly only big races where there is time for both. Sorry for the long meassage, lol

Amazing useful information that I can put into practice.. one quick question… starting out building 1/8 scale buggy kit but I’m stuck on what motor I should choose… more importantly, how high up or how low should the “KV” be on my buggy. *note, this buggy will be used for racing/track. Thanks.

    Your electric buggy looks like it needed to go full narrow, including wheel hexes if possible, the car looked like it had no rear grip so it looks like your on throttle application was very slow and late as an outcome. I would of run full soft springs, no rear sway bar maybe a light front bar and full narrow chassis with a high roll centre. I would of gone with 2.5 to 3 degrees rear toe. Lastly I would of played with pro squat on the rear and if you could adjust rear arm droop I would of maybe played around with this too

    So i bought this LitRC rear end kit for my xe elite a while ago because of this video, because our local track is also tight, not very open. Now i finally had time to put them C&D Blocks on to narrowing the pivot width like you did but it does not work. The Arms collide with the Diff housing. Really frustrating.

    Answer is to ditch nitro. If you remove the pit person the run time is about the same as an electric. Noise, fumes and a mess is the only thing nitro brings to the table. If you flip over and the marshal is too slow then your engine dies and your are pissed at the marshal. Seems like an awful lot can be avoided by just running electric. And don't even get me started marshaling a 30 minute nitro main after running your 6-8 minute electric main.

    generally i dont like to complain, but i feel strongly against track cutting. especially if you cant make a legit pass, then track cutting is NOT the place for a pass. i know others will feel different but i personally feel like its cheating, and specifically for the purpose of passing, dishonest and straight up dirty.

    I have big dislike for electric guys at local track we ruined there quiet time and we wrench on are cars like crazy. SO laughable they got their r/c car almost completely apart, playing with slipper, gearing gear ratio. Hobby store in r/c parts counter talk down nitro cars there sooooo hard to run. I have never had problems they claim, engine temps easy listen to engine, watch the smoke and watch glow plug. They had their big race in the fall they kicked all of us nitro guys out wow thanks. After it pissed racers off 2 weeks later we will have big race for nitro guys. Funny they let electric guy run in our practice, they got in the way and then complain about nitro guys. It was glorified club race they put on. Funny track is dead now pisser part you can drive 2 hours in any direction from my town nitro and electric run together with no problems WOW. Because tracks control peoples pissy attitudes don't like don't run here anymore simple fix. Too race now its all day affair now so I get to race once a month now and it sucks.
