21:53 is a super - well balanced song with a proper weight to it that brings out an harmonic sound out of the group, rather that feeling a scraped bunch of scraps like the other songs. I am impressed my the bass player, the drummer, the guitar player and the vocals are not the oddball in the room. ('Damp'). The start of the song with the bass line reminds me of Nick Cave's 'Do You Love Me', but it's just a whiff. The rest is awkward and sometimes downright creepy, depressing, giving me disgust even. Feels like the singer wants to be someone else instead of just wanting to be herself, wanting to be more than she is... Which is a damn hard thing to say, I must confess, but if one gets on stage, and I stumble upon it, I will not stay indifferent.
I think she loves Swans but not even close. The intensity is not even close, maybe next Savages but not original, nothing special. maybe Nick Cave influences too, it’s not good to see the artist whose influences seem obvious.
There's nothing wrong with having obvious influences. I just skip/ignore bands that are too much like something already out there to the extend that I am getting bored of them. Comparisons will only get you so far.
