Lots of good old tv show fans do not know what they are missing not knowing about great shows like these being put on TH-cam. Thanks !
How wonderful to see people dressed nicely. Quite a difference to the way people dress these days.
So true. People used to dress up to fly. I miss it too.
Wow! I had heard of the radio version of "the Lineup" but the TV version is a total surprise and pleasure! I love, love the fashions!! An added plus are only 3 commercials for an half an hour show. I haven't heard of Cheer detergent in ages, not to mention Gleem!! A HUGE thank you for posting!!
The fashions, and cars..seem to go together
Along with music
1949-1963
Excellent series always enjoyed the work of Tom Tully
Loved the old ads !
Procter & Gamble [Cheer, Ivory, Gleem, et. al.] was the sole sponsor in the 1958-'59 season.
Stacy Harris who guest starred in this episode was often seen on the old Jack Webb TV and radio show Dragnet.
He was part of Jack's acting Troup.
Jack Webb had a lot of cute gals in his stable. He produced Emergency. Julie London was the actress who played Dixie. She was a real hot number. I believe she was married to Bobby Troup who played one of the ER Docs.
The gal who played Dorie was Ruta Lee. She was a real doll!
THE LINEUP was in every sense of the word CBS' answer to DRAGNET...it was filmed in San Francisco and used stories from their police department's files
(fun fact: the story of the baby Jesus taken from a church manger actually occurred in San Francisco--the first version of DRAGNET produced it the year before THE LINEUP debuted)
@@tommytwogloves16Jack Webb was married at one time to Julie London.
Stacy Harris's specialty was playing arrogant heels. He was a master.
Great show!
Thank you I loved the line up on radio and I never saw this line up, on TV they are great
Thanks again
Originally telecast on October 31, 1958.
Oh on Halloween Night!
2 months before i was born☺️
imagine 2 detectives in suits and hats, That would put crooks on edge. And driving a hi perfomance 4 door. Chrysler? Is it him, did these 2 really look. Did he fake his death. Dory Sims, did she kill Jeff? So much drama at every turn.
That's actually a 1957 Dodge Coronet.
Linda Watkins of FROM HELL IT CAME (1957) fame. she plays the old rich lady.
The fashions and the cars so good to see
Since when do those in a line up directly speak with a witness in person, or the police hash out details of a murder right then and there in front of the others in the line up? Just speaking about their past history violates the rights of the suspects in the line up, as lawyers may or may not expose their past criminal history as allowed during courtroom legal proceedings later.
Very good , realistic, not stylized, like what came later.
Absolutely top viewing thank you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I remember the commercials from b&w tv as a kid.
When cops drove Batmobiles
Wendell Niles, sponsor I.D. announcer.
Dick Stark speaks for Cheer.
Rex Marshall speaks for Gleem.
And with that same GL70 also handy on engine blocks and controls pests etcetera etcetera
Gleem, the toothpaste that looks like shaving cream. What could possibly go wrong? 26:08
29:13- "'PERSON TO PERSON' is next, on the *CBS TELEVISION NETWORK."*
23:31 I recently heard in an old movie, a lady with the same line about hitting a man who turned out to be the sheriff; I'm trying to remember the movie.
Wunnerfull golf course at presidio…but I played Harding park meself 😺
Great looking dames in this episode. Take a blonde for spin in the Dodge Polaris 440 magnum four banger and let her blow the siren when she reaches top rpm!
Indubidubly 🙂
I belong to Dunedin golf club. Our suites to stay over nite ..are in the parking lot…in your car🙀
Don’t know how many times I sprayed Burma shave on my toothbrush 😺
Is that why those cans never lasted?
Ruta Lee so cute 🙂
Did I hear what I thought I heard at 12:14?
aerosol toothpaste!
