    I’m so grateful I found Thay, I listen to his teachings everyday. I was at an awful point in my life, in complete forgetfulness and wasting my life worrying about the future. I feel my life is turning around as I learn how to live mindfully. Thank you for being there for all of us

    The part about the eyes really touched me. This is such a beautiful and deep teaching. Sometimes teachings on thankfulness and gratitude sound hollow and insincere to me. The way he spoke of gratitude was easy to feel in my heart. I truly felt this teaching, finally. Thank you so much for leaving this teaching 🙏🏽

    Even as my cat Misty comes next to me, she is calm through Thay’s whole talk and seems to be listening ❤️ reminding me of how she, like every flower, and all beings bring us more reminders of the wonder of life.

    This introduction to life through the elements of Concentration is for me a reminder of how living in the here and the now gives insight into the nature of no birth and no death. In this example of drinking our cloud brings me again and again to this image of drinking our tea, and touches my mind with the elements of nature in our daily life. For me, this dharma talk brings Joy.

    If the true nature of the cloud is no birth and no death, then my own nature is the nature of no birth and no death.

    I'm just a regular 'dummy', but this teaching is very useful and produces excellent results, even if practiced in my somewhat desultory way. Thank you so much, Thay.

    Basis of Budhism is reincarnation and law of karma . The necessity of Budhism is impermanence sufferings and concept of no soul . Budhism guides us to stay in human world and heavens until final stage is attained 🙏🙏🙏

    Wait why does the kanji for samadhi looks like the one for foot?? I hope someone has the answer 🤔

    • @soggymoggytravels
      @soggymoggytravels 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The one drawn by Thich doesn’t match ‘foot’ completely - his has a mark at the top of the box part.

    this symbol is 'read' in google translate for chinese. 念 - how did it become 'mindfulness'?

    • @charlottesunny1236
      @charlottesunny1236 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      In chinese there are 2 "read" :
      讀 = read
      念 = read (mindfully)
      Just like in English there are 2 words of "hearing the sound":
      Hear = hear the sound
      Listen = hear (mindfully)
      I'm not really good in English, but hope you can understand😂

    • @AnnaWeltmanPsychForSport
      @AnnaWeltmanPsychForSport 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@charlottesunny1236 yes, I totally get it! Thank you for explaining/clarifying that! :-)

    • @soggymoggytravels
      @soggymoggytravels 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is also affected by the breakdown of the constituent parts. As Thich explained, the top part of his character means ‘now’ and the bottom part is mind/heart/sound.

    Nam Mo A Di Da Phat ...... Dear Thay I can see the gift of Mindfulness is one that you are passionate about. You explain so clearly it's benefits in this Dharma talk. The people of Vietnam gave me many gifts - but I feel the greatest one was being introduced to your teachings. I am forever grateful

      The child needs a nap it’s a tired cry. Child should not be made to attend. Child is suffering and then brings suffering to others.
