That is a young Richard Bona on Electric Bass. Richard's dynamics is so creative. Great Bassist.
Larry has never, to my mind, received the accolades due to him-he was up there amongst the likes of Scofield, Abercrombie, Frisell, Metheny and some others who the critics seem to like a lot but he was a fusion pioneer and had incredible technique-a master guitarist.
Doc,all the cars u mentioned are NOWHERE AS GOOD AS LARRY WAS...NEVER!!!n. No disrespect to any of them ,they're all wonderful I their own right but cannot stand next to Larry. Just an opinion from someone who has seen them all from way back.

This isn’t true. Coryell has received TONS of accolades and praise for his guitar playing since the early 60’s. He is certainly a unknown to Rock and mainstream audiences but to serious music lovers and Jazz and Rock players and Blues and Classical musicians he is well known and respected. Larry is definitely a different market and he doesn’t appeal to a mainstream audience but who cares!
What I wouldn't give to see them play together again. Larry was one of the kindest musicians I've spoken with. RIP Maestro.
Very few musicians deserve that title "Maestro" - you are absolutely right though, Larry earned and deserved to be known as a Maestro! :) He won't be forgotten!
Saw him at a small club Kimballs in SF. Someone asked him after the show how he played some notes in 1 tune. Larry walked back to the stage, grabbed his guitar & showed the guy in super slow motion. Saw Bireli there twice. He was like 19 & 21 years old. Mind-blowing

I first saw Larry Coryell at the Jazz Factory in Louisville Kentucky. I have a signed copy of his autobiography.
I saw this gig at The Barbican in London, i was mesmerised all night and it stands out as one of the best gigs i ever saw in my life. My first introduction to Richard Bona and i've followed him ever since, just wow!
Spaces Revisited - One of the best guitar jazz albums ever.
I can feel the mutual admiration these highly skilled musicians have for each other. Top professionals doing exactly what they love to do. Many times when you get big names together everyone sounds like they're in business for themselves. These musicians have played everything and this is their chill mode. How grateful I am to hear this.
Beautifull I recorded this years ago from Czech TV on VHS and lost somewhere and now found here ....Thank you ....this is Jazz heaven

I have to pull out my copy of "Spaces". I own too many albums if I haven't played that one in 5 or 6 years.
This was such a fluid piece of music that I was awestruck and could not believe what I was hearing

I had the album and knew Coryell, but this a great way to check out the synergy between them. An early Bireli holds his own. I miss Larry!
early Bireli was in the 80s making amazing records at the ages of 13 and up. this is grown up Bireli.
