As a person who loves Poland and it’s history, I think you did a really good job doing this, with the reference to France getting scared by the declaration of war, and the Romanian Bridgehead Strategy being stopped by the Soviets.

heres a clarification , this part 0:07 is Romania allowing Polish refugees to pass through its territory ,During the early stages of World War II, as German forces invaded Poland in September 1939, many Polish soldiers and civilians sought refuge in neighboring countries. Romania was one of the countries that accepted a significant number of Polish refugees.
Romania, under King Carol II, declared its neutrality at the beginning of the war. However, after pressure from both Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union, Romania was forced to make territorial concessions. In the case of the Polish refugees, Romania allowed them to pass through its territory, providing a route for many Polish soldiers and civilians to escape the advancing German and Soviet forces.

And it all started with the division of Czechoslovakia with the Germans and the blocking of Soviet troops.

We as the poles, were always ready for victory since independence. Almost no piece of literature in the interwar peroid had the words "retreat", "evacuate" or "defeat".
So when the germans attacked in 1939 we thought that the brits and french would help us, we thought that our army would preform better, we thought that the soviets werent gonna get involved, and we thought that our government would escape to romania.
When all failed and poland collapsed it was such a shock to the poles not because its a military failure (we had many of those in the past) but because we never thought that this would ever happen.
Six months later and it’s still my favorite countryballs video.
