Dear Jonathan, yes the Alien is still available as a 6 tring version. Cordially, Anne warwick.de/en/Warwick---Products--Instruments--Made-in-China--Rockbass-Akustik--Alien--Warwick-Alien--6-string--Pictures.html
Tone is also in the mind, (I like to call that earmagination), and the instrument is there to provide that feedback to what we imagine we wanted to sound like but it is a two-way street as well, the instrument will inspire us to hear more possibilities.
Bloody just bought it. Can't wait. With all due respect to Steve, though, I'll give it its first go with some Primus, but then will seek to learn this beautiful tune too (guessing the latter will please the ladies more than Tommy the Cat!)
as in Klangfahrbenmelodie, or 'tone colour melody', a serialist technique used in the 30's by composers such as Schoenberg, Berg and Webern. They utilised the individual tones of each instrument, as well as the notes they played.
please for help: what;s kind of tune has 6 string bass? I would like to strart from standard E instead low C. But what next? Some ppl say anbout standard tune like HEADGH, so if it's true I would like to change first low H but for what? For C?
@@isetta4083 I guess there are a number of possibilities, the microphones only which would be super nice to hear, the microphones and the amplifier in the background, DI only which we don’t seem to be hearing thank God! Then a number of other combinations. DI and micing the amplifier, I don’t know if he’s got a lapel mic on but I’ll check back My Martin 4 string acoustic bass guitar, the all mahogany one, sounds incredible all the way down to the E unplugged
Dear amaroudis, it´s a Warwick Alien. Please have a look on our website. Cordially, Anne warwick.de/en/Warwick---Products--Instruments--Made-in-China--Rockbass-Akustik--Alien--Warwick-Alien.html
Framus & Warwick I would love to get an Alien at some stage. I have an acoustic Bass and I know the Alien-4 is available Lefty. Can an Alien-5 be built in your Custom Shop if requested?
Are the Warwick Aliens manufactured in Germany OR Indonesia? Or are there German & Indonesia made Aliens, if so what is the difference and how can tell the difference between the two? Thank you.
The New ones are all built in China (rockbass alien standard, rockbass alien deluxe and Warwick alien) The old series of the Warwick alien was built in Vietnam.
Funny @Kristina Villhauer- When I google your name in front of the words "bass guitar", I don't see any of your videos! Am I missing something?? Steve is an amazing bass player... so amazing, in fact; not one, but TWO world renowned bass guitar manufacturers have decided to give him a signature model!! If you want to hate on him for being a one trick pony, so be it. Make no mistake, however, that one trick of his is absolutely stellar!! If he were so very clueless, as you say, perhaps you can explain to me why the incomparable Victor Wooten has chosen to partner up with him; gigging from coast to coast for nearly two decades, as well as bringing him on as a teacher and major contributor to his very own bass camp! I don't know man, you do the math!!
Where did people learn that you have to be an accomplished musician in order to have an opinion? Kindergarten or some Liberal college? Anyway, the Internet isn't meant for sensitive people like you.

I've seen 6-string, acoustic, and fretless basses, but never all three in one instrument! This is definitely a first for me, and it sounds great!
Next one will be acoustic fretless 6 string multiscale :)))
Sounds like an upright Bass. Great!
i need this bass like the cameraman needs a tripod!
+edthewave The tone was too powerfull
Warwick's headstocks are the most beautiful thing on the planet!!!!
I've never seen an acoustic bass that looks so nice. I wouldn't sell my soul for this bass but I'd definitely lease with an option to buy.
Steve has the oddest right hand technique I have ever seen, so stiff, but man does he make it work

@Jaspar It doesn't come E-C from the factory. But you can set it up by yourself or have a professional set it up for you. Best regards, Michael.
This is an awesome bass, but it just proves Tone is all in the hands!
Always 50 % 50 % Instrument /hand

@@TiqueO6 I'm so glad someone other than myself gets this. Bravo!
All very well but I want to know about the tone. I wish he'd talk about the tone.

I just got the 5 string version & it's smooth, like butter dripping off a hot biscuit.
Just like...tommy the cat...you are totally right😇👊
All we need now is scalloped frets. Would that work on a fretless?
I'm suprised at how good his intonation is here. Usually it kinda sucks.
Norman Hirschfeld That's because the Alien allows him to hear the tone. ;o)
You are not wrong.
my words
Steve don't forget tone!
Amazing Steve Bassley
I think he forgot to mention... tone
0:52 - has a nearly clarinet tone
6 string fretless acoustic bass with wammy bar and detuners
I had one in my hands only to discover the bridge coming loose. This was in a music shop in Wien called Klangfahber.

Were we hearing it "unplugged" meaning just the acoustic sound picked up by the nice mics?
It looks to be plugged in, so a combination of both

Do you offer the Rockbass Alien std. 6 as a lined fretless as well?
Dear +Gabriel Zarruk , the Rockbass Alien 6 String is only available as a standart fretless. Best regards, Michael.
Does anyone own one of these? Does it have a neck dive problem?
Thanks
That guy can sell an instrument
Luv it!
Are these Acoustic/Electric or are they strictly Acoustic?
+j0hnbr0ck Acoustic/Electric! :) They are equipped with Fishman pickups and electronics. Best regards, Michael.

I cannot even look at a guitar if the sound hole is not a circle in the normal position.
