Your reluctance to change parts only as a last resort is truly admirable. I wish I was up early enough to watch these live. Any chance you could give a heads up the day before?

I use small artist brush to clean maf well and enables getting around the blind side. Learnt the hard way using a cotton buds for these type.

Steve, an OEM detailed description of the criteia for setting this DTC would be useful. What was the Freeze Frame Data, is this setting at idle, part load or full load. You say VE was at 80%, that to me is acceptable for a normally aspirated engine. LTFT at +5 % is not a game changer for me. Note this code if for post cat rich. I think I would scope the down stream sensor and look to conduct a catalyst oxygen storage test. Great vid, loving it

Put the unit back together. Take unit for a road test and monitor o2 sensors at wide open throttle on the road, o2 sensors should be rich at wide open throttle the whole time. If o2 are not rich, go after fuel problem, or MAF problem.

I can't help it Steve at 9.00 I would have to confirm a good 5v reference and ground at the sensor(s) give that the suggested output is 1.4v at idle and is approx 15%low at 1.2v? By the way dogs are the best thing invented lol.

What about an air leak anywhere between the exhaust manifold to cylinder head and before the downstream Lambda ?

Steve, still studying this, but just to let you know the video title is incorrect . The fault code is P2097 not P0297......so the google fault code searchers will be looking for vehicle overspeed ...lol
