      Lee, as the founder and CEO of my own business, I have to call failure a lot. My customers understand that training new employees will cause many errors. Some have cost me a fortune. Others I slap my head thinking I should have known this wasn't going to go well. But no matter how much we think we're on top of it, we always have the opportunity to see it again from the ground up, even when we should be looking down. You are my mentor, and without you, I wouldn't be branding my business today the way that I am now. Keep your chin up.

    Excellent Series, watched all six episodes more than once. You stated you're not Super Human, but for many Screen Printing Apprentice & Amateur you are a HERO. Looking forward in the future on two topics you mentioned; Using illustrator for color separation and the New Emulsion you discovered make life easier. The quality your videos, their contents and your work are definitely FIVE STARS. Thank you for Sharing both the Good and Bad; makes it REAL & educational.

    Dude it's so awesome watching these videos. Like you said, you don't sugar coat any of it. That's how all DIY videos should be. That way people will see that even with problems, there are ways to reach the end goal. And that a problem doesn't mean defeat. Keep the videos coming can't wait to see what's to come

      Thanks a lot dude. I always like to show the failures along the way for exactly that reason, and because I don't want to portray as someone who always does things perfectly like most channels try to do haha. I'm glad people like the way I'm going about it 🤘🏻

    You’ve probably heard everything quite a bit. It is true, unless you want to do more than one swipe of either color or both, you could do without flashing. But personally, everything looks better bolder to me so I flash it anyway. Then flash after it’s complete so that I don’t have to worry about the wet ink getting on the shirt. Then throw it in the dryer. I highly recommend trying out the aluminum. And most people, I’ve seen, don’t put heat resistant rubber pallets on them but I do. Then also put the regular pallet tape over that. As far as the sleeve pallet, I use something similar to yours as far as shape except no square. It’s a complete rectangle and I load the sleeve cuff first from my end so that the collar is closest to me. Your stuff looks dope man! I hope some of my advice helps at all! I’ve been screen printing for almost three years and have learned a lot! The days are long sometimes but man there’s no better feeling than seeing your hard quality work out in public! Love the vids man! Keep up the good work!

    • @leestuart38
      @leestuart38  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks man. I agree that flashing every color looks way more bold and vibrant, and if you have your flash dialed in perfectly then it doesn't slow anything if you have enough stations. All my pallets are aluminum now with the rubber, the sleeve thing was my only wood one. Can't wait for my new aluminum ones to get here

    A tip to put in the toolbox - when you have prints in tricky to offload scenarios like these sleeves you can flash as a pre-cure tactic so just in case you slip or something snags the top layer of ink will be cured enough to not transfer anywhere unwanted... takes more time but not more time than a complete reprint - cheers

  • @paulwuk
    @paulwuk 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Lee just a polite warning with sleeves, I find on some garments the shoulder seams hang over towards the back so don't always use the shoulder seam to find center for the sleeve design, sometimes I offset the seam by about an inch so when worn the design looks more centered back to front, if you get my drift from my long assed description lol

    • @leestuart38
      @leestuart38  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ya I only use the shoulder seam as a guide mainly and do the rest by eye. Unless there's the nice center crease running up it, then life is easy haha

  • @hotboxprintstudio
    @hotboxprintstudio 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Have you considered reversing your artwork so that you can load your sleeve the opposite direction? You will have the hoodie hang off the pallet to a degree, but as long as your not printing all the way to the shoulder it should work out just fine. Less stretching to the garment that way too. Just an idea anyways... keep up the good work.

    Sorry if this has been asked before, but why are you printing the white letters, to just cover the entire thing with red? Is it for proper gasketing of the screen to the shirt so you dont get overprint from the step in thickness of the white sprocket going on first?

    • @leestuart38
      @leestuart38  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's because most colors aren't fully opaque or thick enough to build up and cover the fibers, so you need to run a white underbase to get proper color and coverage 🤘🏻

    Love your videos bro and you keep real.. I’m new to screen printing also. What program do you use to separate your art work (color separating)?

    Really cool seeing the brand go from idea to Final product, shirts look killer! ☠☠
    I take it the sleeve board is not Flippable? may not be able to use it flipped but may atleast be able to heat it up enough to go back to the way it was maybe.

      Thanks a lot dude. I actually thought about that but I didn't wanna risk it since these hoodies are so expensive. The next time we visit sleeves I'll have the proper shit like I should have the first time haha. I was clueless but now I know

    Your a handy guy, buy yourself a sheet of half inch laminated mdf board, have it on standby in case you need to ever cut yourself a bespoke platurn, kids sleeves and the likes.

    My man whats good! Hope you are not getting tired of my questions yet. No homo but everytime i watch your vids I get butterflies in my stomach cause i want to start printing myself. Now only the stores have to open and im set. But in the meantime collecting info. Im looking at this vid where you are printing sleeves and i was wondering what is your opinion on printing on performace gear ( so like a dryfit polyester) cause i see a lot of heat transfers and not a lot of screen printing on them. Let me know. As soon as this fucking lock down is over and I havea bit of money imma def buy a shirt to support ya bro!

    If you’re just doing two colors you don’t have to flash drive in between colors You can just print wet. And then final dry...Do you have plastic containers on top of your conveyor belt Dryer. You’re going to catch your house on fire yo!.....

    • @leestuart38
      @leestuart38  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not a fan of wet on wet, the colors are much brighter when you flash in between and there's no chances of ghosting. And it doesn't slow the workflow down at all having that flash with everything set up right

    Its been awesome watching the process. I love your work ethic and attention to detail. I was watching one of the videos and my wife said to me "Is your shirt crooked?" turns out the printer didnt center it. Now I cant ever wear it again. Their shitty work.

    • @leestuart38
      @leestuart38  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha I can't even wear other brands stuff now because I notice shit like that instantly. I just have to build this thing big enough to start taking over all that printing. Thanks a lot dude!
