Most NHL players have money managers who are corporations paid to keep them rich and are very good at it. Many of the people who represent them insist on it to represent them. That's why they have been so good at staying rich.
I'm sure the hockey unions work with investment firms so they can keep an eye on what they are doing with individuals money. Any body in that investment circle doesn't want to mess with a sports union, they will make minced meat outt' ya.
