BOSS DF-2 - Super Feedbacker & Distortion vs BOSS DS-1 - demonstration of distortion pedals, I'm playing on Yamaha Pacifica 302S Telecaster and Marshall ValveState 8040.
DF-2 hands down. Love that distortion. I got mine for $15 dollars off a stoner back in '94. It's beat to hell, but I baby it. My favorite stomp box distortion so far.
After that dark period, I got a steady job, but my earnings weren´t enough to buy all those things again. I had only some rehearsals and jam sessions for the kicks, with borrowed gear. Only this year I got money enough to buy new instruments. They are not as good, but I can take some nice sounds from them.
@utubeThatOneBand check the battery, clean under the pots, check that the in/outs aren´t loose, check your cables and power supplies, and if it still sounds strange take it to boss. Distortion pedals never loose their tone with use, but with malfunctions.
@thedevilisbad If you mean my Pacifica am very happy with it. All picup are original. Initially, I thought about changing those from American Fender I'm stopped original and I'm proud of them ;)
@utubeThatOneBand maybe something is wrong with it's connection (input or output)... or if you use it thru a tube amp, change your tubes? Just throwing out suggestions
mmm....when I bought this pedal when it first came onto market, I thought wow!...Now I think nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng! (sorry, left the foot on the pedal) Still lovin' the DS-1 though!...Rock-On!
Oh god... They sound virtually the same. I had a DF-2, and I was very proud of it until an economic plan of the always ROGUE and DASTARDLY Braziliain government forced me to sell my whole equipment. If DF-2 were a person I would say: "I missed you and and it´s very good to hear from you again." : )
question, can a pedal lose its tone over time? because my ds1 used 2 sound great but now its lost alot of its punch :( how can i fix this besides buying a new one
I was living of savings, so the Government, with the reason of beating inflation, confiscated almost all money from saving bank accounts. The plan was keeping the money away for 1 year. So I got BROKE. I was unemployed, so I had to sell things to stand the 1 year period until they gave my cash back. I had even to sell real estate. When they began to return my money, they didn´t apply the correct interest rate, so I got poorer than 1 year prior...
