  • In this video, I removed the gauge cluster on my 2012 Ford F150 Lariat in order to fix the broken tachometer needle. The removal of the cluster is pretty easy, but separating the clear front plastic from the rest of the cluster was the tedious part. There job overall was not very difficult and can be done with just a couple simple tools.
Extra bit not included/mentioned in the video... there is a small star bit that is needed for two screws on the back of the cluster. These need to be removed in addition to the multiple plastic tabs around the edges of the cluster.

I ended up using heat shrink tube around the clip because the plastic is so delicate.

Of course! It wasn’t too bad of a fix so you’ll be fine. Let me know if you have any questions.

Another trick for the clips at 5:28…. Slide a toothpick behind the black tabs… slide the unit right off

After my engine wouldn't start due to a very weak battery my speedometer needle is 15 mph off.

Sorry, replacement what? Needle? I glued the original back together to reuse it if that’s what you are talking about.
