Yea, I love these type videos. I'm just starting to Crappie baits and under spin baits. I would like to see as many videos as I can on searching and covering more water looking for Crappie. More videos on fishing crank baits and under spin baits. Thanks
my go to crappie search lure for crappie is a 1/8 oz road runner with a pink curly tail. I can fish it at multiple depths and multiple speeds..... great bait.
1/8 slab runner with underspin. 2 best soft plastics to use...#1, electric chicken. #2, black/chartreuse. I'm a bank fisherman and these two have never let me down.
That Arckie 220 is a killer for Rainbows and Tiger trout on high alpine lakes. I like the black and silver for that. I will have to try them for Crappie too.
At Lake of the Ozarks I was night fishing the Woordens minnow shaped rooster tail and bringing in quite a few 12"+ crappie just slow rolling it at night. Also had quite a few bass and a walleye while I was there all on the same lure.
The spin jig's like that one for long time me and friends got them with feather 🪶 on theme so we took them off to put on plastic. 🤔 Some time just don't throw away old can still be used for another rig. My spinners good with skirt sometimes not gus a swim bait or both like my weed less jig's and chatter baits. Just do what you think will work. This was a good video.
Not sure if they are still making them but not long ago I picked up some Arkie spinners, very close to the ones that come with the BeetleSpins, at Wal-Mart that were the Willow style, they still have the regular ones i know.
Ronnie Mallonee I believe I showed two different rods. The 7'6" casting rod and the 8' castong/jig rod both are made by ACCcrappiestix. I have a link to their website in the video description. Be sure to use the promo code FC10 for 10% off your order. Thanks for watching!
Tell my wife that! I am going to be doing 1 video a day for the next month and get to 1k finally! I remember when you were around where i am. Can't wait to be up with the big dawgs at 5k!
Yep! If your on a boat over them you can actually jig them some vertically but crappie will hit them no matter the way, just gotta find where they are and try.
same baits, but maybe try using them under a slip bobber. (baits like the chatterbait and underspin are good for that). Since most crappie will be in deeper water this time of year (summer), try and find some place with a steep drop off. (examples bridges, dams, points, marinas) The slip bobber will let you fish these baits slowly and the bobber will keep the bait over deeper water. Just try and cast as far as you can...haha. Thanks for watching!
Not to try to steal his Thunder or anything but I do want to add one more point. This time of year crappie move a lot more than they usually do and or less structure oriented so it's going to be hard to bank fish for them simply because as soon as you find a few of them they're gone. Unfortunately it's pretty much going to take a boat to stay on top of a moving School.

Do you recommend using a loop knot on your road runners?

Your sharing knowledge is swell thanks so much

Beetlespins are a highly underrated lure it seems. I've had some nice sized bass nail them, a few 4-5ft gar, too.
Bass Nazi yes they are! I'd like to find some with a willow blade rather the Colorado blades they all come with.

What specific rod are you using in this video? Love your channel. New to crappie fishing and I am learning much from you.

Good video bud
Its tough down here in south FL
July and August are brutal
Heath Kerce North Florida too lol
I have found the BPS "Tripple Ripple" style grubs effective search baits.
I killed it on the beetle spin this year as well. It seemed like the majority of my fish came off of either chartreuse or pink.
Yes, chart. and pink were great colors this year. Thanks for watching!
What do you mean by the water is broken up?
Man you have been pumping out the vids lately.
work hard. play hard.

Great informative video
Detective Mike Varnado thanks and thanks for watching!
Problem I have with the spinners is I find them not spinning most of the time.
Ya, I've had that happen when using smaller (1/32 and 1/16oz blades) I normally use a 1/8oz blade now
What about inline spinners, do they work on crappie?
I have heard they do, I guess I can use them next time I go out and make a video on it. Thanks for watching!

I have pictures of 4lb+ crappie I caught in Florida in a crystal clear lake on an orange inline spinner. Best crappie day ever...
I caught one on a mepps size 0 copper blade with a fly instead of a treble
what about those of us that dont have a boat and have to bank fish..... what baits should we use and how do we find the fish

There is a link to the lures I talked about in the video description. Thanks for watching!
Could you give the link to the actual crappie.com article you were talking about in the video?
i'll have to dig through their archive, but if I find it, I will post it.
Thanks.
