These two mothers are ignorant, my goodness! The son says he feels like his time on earth is up and his mother doesn't even react. Too busy trying to prove something she doesn't know to the other woman. Neither of the mothers were paying attention to their children and showing them the love that they needed to feel good about themselves and their future and that's how they ended up there.

Like that man is siting here with that mentality and that lady stood up there laughing, LAUGHING. His momma need to sit and speak to her son, get him a therapist, like lady, HELP your son, that is HER son, that is HER baby, so she need to help and want to help HER baby. I don't know about others, but when you have children you are supposed to want to help them at any age, they could be 60 and you gotta walker but when you see them you should see "That's my baby, that's my big boy/ big girl, my child, they grew up so well". Their children spoke their truth, they came up and spoke their reality, "This is what happened, this is how it happened and this is what we need and that is the truth", then we have these two grown ladies, their mothers acting like children fighting over she said she said like it's middle school. It’s definitely not impossible…just more challenging. I had my daughter during the latter part of my junior year of college and I earned my baccalaureate degree when she was about six months old. I went on to earn a graduate degree while she was in elementary school. It required a lot of work and sacrifices, but I stayed focused on achieving my goals. I hope this young lady stays motivated to achieve her dreams and purpose.
Yep, I remember a single mother during my undergrad who brought three of her very young children into the lecture theatre with her one day. I suppose her childcare arrangements had fallen through. They behaved themselves and remained quiet. 🙂

It is a severe lack in foresight for both of them though. If he thought he was going to die, he was going to leave this girl as a single mother with no way to support the child, because he would be dead, and she would be struggling by herself - and ultimately their mothers would be left to be the breadwinners, or the single young mother would probably become desperate and find some other guy to shack up with. Personally, I would not want either one of my parents to raise a child, and that is something that they needed to also think about. Both of these young people are very foolish, but I hope they at least stay in love with each other, are loyal to each other, and become responsible people for their child.

@@ezj8262 Foolish desires are in every one of us. He clearly wanted a physical reminder of his existence and that he was there. Ofcourse if he died it would have negative consequences for the single mother and child. But it won't stop millions from acting on such desires. Better to life with the potential negative consequences than to have not lived at all and die with regrets as large as that. It's not like the girl was ignorant of the consequences either though. Hopefully the child grows up with both loving parents and the mother will be able to pursue whichever dreams she had, likewise for the father. A child makes it more difficult, but not impossible.

My guess is that you can't relate. These families most likely live in areas where lack of area quality , resources, opportunities, the systematic creation & all the things that provide adequate, equal & fair possiblities of upward mobility increase the chances of THIS race of people meeting early demise. Crimes go up when all the aforementioned resources are removed or lacking a.k.a. crimes of proximity/opportunity. That formula can be applied to ANY community. Then, we'd see the same exact thing happen there as it was designed to happen in THIS race's community. Perhaps if it were systematically done to everyone, race wouldn't need to be brought up. Understanding & relating would be easier. Real literature is out there. Not just the made up stats or Google blurbs.

Exactly, how sad is it that he barely sees a future for himself. Obviously knowing that his behavior is gonna get him dead or jailed. He smiled so big when the results came out. I wish I could reach out to this young man and give him some guidance, being a past gangmember my self I know exactly how he feels I had my son at 18 and he's now 25 and I'm 42 I turned my life around and I thank god for saving me. I'm a former teacher. Once I was asked, "what do you believe is the worst thing a parent or teacher can do to a child?" Without hesitation, my answer is: taking away the hope that life can get better is absolute worst thing a person could ever do to a child. Taking away the hope that you can move up. Taking away the hope that there is a future that will help you be better. Taking away the hope that you can get away from where you are.

@@ibrahimkhatib1554 A lot of these guests come from rough environments and backgrounds. It plays a big part of why they end up here in the first place. There have been several Paternity Court cases where the black father in question is dead from gun violence, and the mother is here on his behalf. Sad, but common unfortunately.

2 Blessed she can if she gets the support she needs from her family. I went back to school when I was in my 40’s and finally finished. It took awhile because I was working full time and taking care of my family. It can be done.

@@brotherLee340 I agree with you. Her life is not over, but seeing as what she comes from and I can't really see her going on to pursue anything really productive. The first thing I thought was both the mom and the mother of the child were both too old to be talking about the mother being a pediatrician and a lawyer. By the time you're a senior, you should pretty much know it's close to impossible to conquer both of those fields of study. Between the years and the interning, that's just not something that can be reasonably accomplished. I would expect someone much younger to say something like that. Not a senior in high school.
I am an older student (a career changer; I taught for 25 years) now in nursing school. If this group could come together enough to watch this baby for her, this girl should finish high school, become a certified nursing assistant and then move up into nursing school. There are others here doing that exact thing. This would carve out a better life for the young family. The boy's mom needs to get that boy OUT of that area where he can concentrate on building a future; not fearing and praying the present is going to take him out. Don't tell me it's imposible. It's not.
