  • It’s been more than 25 years since 6-year-old JonBenét Ramsey was found dead in the basement of her family’s Colorado home. The death of the little girl riveted the world, but the case was never solved. Now, JonBenét’s father, John Ramsey, is asking for a new investigation to find his daughter’s killer. Ramsey has petitioned the governor of Colorado, calling for the investigation to be taken over by the FBI.

I totally agree. Its so confusing to me though because he hasnt spoken out for so long. Im not just talking 10 to 15 years, im talking 20+ years he hasnt done anything remotely close to what hes doing now. Its just an odd time imo. Like why now?? although he is doing something, I just ponder the question why wait until now. Specifically because hes always been in a stable position financially, etc. Someone with his power has the ability to do a lot more than the average person so again, yes hes using that power now, but why wait. I understand grief but again, you would think after 15 years of your child’s death you would at least try to exercise some kind of authority if need be. Its also making me question the evidence they have and what he thinks they will find. For me, its either A: Hes completely innocent and genuinely just wants to find his daughters killer with the untested evidence the police has OR.. B: He thinks DNA technology has evolved to the point where we would be able to identify someone from a small portion of DNA (like the DNA in her underwear)- SO if he is guilty then i could easily see him taking that DNA evidence and using that as his defense. Like if they were able to identify the underwear DNA (yet the police realized it was unrelated to her death), the father would probably still run with that evidence and manipulate the public further into thinking he or his family is innocent. I wouldnt put it past him to get someone in trouble for his daughters death even if they had absolutely nothing to do with it. Just to clear his families name for good.
Im genuinely curious why the police haven’t checked all the evidence for DNA. They must have a reason. Something to take into account though is the evidence they do have is probably all from their house. And i would bet money on it that almost all evidence they have has at least one of the family members dna on it just by virtue of where the crime scene was. With this being said it makes it hard to study. And imagine the father was guilty, sadly its hard to conclude that just by looking at evidence from HIS own home.

Why does he want this now after 25 years? I agree with these comments about the so called random letter written in Patsy's handwriting. That needs to be explained. How can someone be comfortable enough to break into someone's house and rape and kill in the same house with the parents and brother in the house. Someone would have to be comfortable to do this without thinking they would get caught. It all seemed staged. No screaming like Jon Benet knew the killer. I also believe her body was cleaned. All this AND time to write a letter??

I think what happened was her brother/ mom dad killed her by accident/ maybe not and tried to cover it by making it looked like a killer/ kidnapper. The dad missed up with the evidence when the house was getting searched. He picked JohnBenét up. Another that is strange is that the killer wrote a note by the note and pen was from their house. Which means he would waste about 5 minutes of time writing this letter put it on the stairs and took her maybe?
