What if you applied a quick fit to a club, but then later you upgrade to a different club?
@@OTCRock4one Yeah and that's the annoying thing. I was unhappy at 2k21 because there were no ratings like you see in most sporting games, but 2k23 just went 5,000% overboard in trying to fix that. Sorry but I do not like this fit system at all. It's way too complicated. Why not just go with a nice simple global ratings system like all other sports games have? Seriously how could 2K change the game this much, put in such a complex system without so much as a manual?! I bought 2k23 because I thought ratings was missing from 2k21, there was no way at all to better your player. But they did the equivalent of using a bomb to kill a housefly. A few questions if I may:
1. Does that out of 100 mean you can carry 100 fittings in the locker, or 100 fittings actually added to your clubs? I'm still confused on what deconstruct means.
2. How do you get virtual currency?
3. What is the difference between a test fit and a real fit? Why can I sometimes do one but not the other.
4. You keep using the term "spec into." What does that mean? Also what is a "grinder"?
Overall, I was following your video very well until that refit/exchange thing. I don't understand that at all. That's so unrealistic, going into a pro shop and then say I'll exchange this for that but what you get in exchange is RANDOM?!
Your video is certainly a better explanation than many others out there. Seriously how could 2K change the game this much, put in such a complex system without so much as a manual?! So I got the game and had a blast winning tournaments and losing too. Played through some of the new courses and had a few tries at the insane courses. All was great....until my hard drive crashes. Had to replace it and when I went to download the saved info from the cloud I seen that I never backed the game up. Had to re-install the game and have to restart my career. Don't remember the clubs and then I remembered you did this tutorial so I came back to check it out yet again. Thanks for doing this and as soon as I get going I'm DEF backing up my game. LOL.

He did such a great job of explaining that I'm more turned off to this horrible fitting system than I was before. So hard to get VC, then having to pay double for fittings you already purchased, and having such a complex system - fittings, quick fittings, deconstruct, exchange, upgrade. The peeps at 2k took an over-simplified system at 2k21 and put it on steroids. The very fact that we need videos like this tells me the entire system is overpowered and we need a 100 page manual just to understand it.

Thanks for the email help today. A lesson I learned today so not gold a career round while angry because I had won 2 events so all sponsors were unlocked. I did a bad round and all the sponsors ejected me and all went to unavailable. Was a cool penalty I liked it. Man I have only seen one Legendary so far and I am level 19
Happy to help! Yeah the sponsors are very quick to drop you even after 1 bad round. I really like the sponsor and rival system. Yeah legendary club fits are hard to come by! But it is nice to be able to upgrade 3 epics into legendary which will help.

Thank you! Glad it was helpful! So the club brands do not actually change the stats, and are purely cosmetic. The fittings on the clubs is how you can modify the stats this year. So you can really use any of the brands you like. My personal favorite off the tee is the Cobra that you get for taking down Rickie Fowler as a rival in the career mode. It sounds so good with a perfect shot!
Regarding the 3 click swing, what is "timing" exactly? Is it click 2 at the top? What is "swing path" on 3c? Click 3 at the bottom? Or is any of that "transition"?
So the I am actually not to sure which click on the 3 click is swing plane and which is tempo. But the first hold button press to get the power in the white region is transition, so the higher the transition is the thicker the white circle is.

Hi, great video. I have been directed to your site by jimgem as I'm having problems understanding how the fittings work. Am not new to this game, and have just been stumbling around for a few months lol. eg Take putter grip - weight fitting of +5. Putter path of +3 and putter weight is +5 OK I get that. When I look over to the right hand column why is that not reflected as +3 and +5. Instead it shows +2 on putter path (fitting says +3) and -2 on putter weight (fitting says +5) ??? Confused. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers Doug
Hey Douglas! Awesome that Jimgem sent you this way, what a legend! So the information shown on the very right when applying a fittings takes into account all the other fittings on that club and also the affects of swapping any fittings you are changing. Now if you have no fittings at all applied to a club, and look at a new fitting, the right should show the exact boost from that specific fitting on the very right. If it does not, maybe there is some type of visual glitch occurring. Hope this helps!

Thank you for the kind words! Appreciate you! So I actually basically use the default golf balls only. But when I have used the golf ball specs, the legendary aviators make the biggest difference for me. They not only add a lot of distance but also have less roll and slow down the greens. They are really good.
A spreadsheet would be really helpful. Like what fittings to focus on per Archetype, etc.
Aiming to get all legendary fittings. That would be 18 fittings. Gonna be expensive but we’ll worth the play experience.
Yeah it is going to be a grind, but we’ll worth it in the end!
Very informative. What's the deal with "Rare Ball Fittings"? I am accumulating them through rivals, sponsors etc. Does one just give me access to a particular type ball in the locker room or am I missing something?
So the ball fittings come in 5 different rarities with legendary being the highest. So you can fit them to your golf balls just like you can the club fits to boost stats. The legendary ones have insane stat boosts. I do not actually use them myself, but they can really boost your stats. You can fit them in your locker by clicking on the golf ball and change fit! So the golf balls can even slow down the green speed and change very fast green speeds to slow, they make that big of a difference.

I've gotten to the point where I have 3 legendaries in every club. Now it's time for fine tuning. I've noticed that each legendary fitting significantly boosts 2 attributes. So, if I upgrade 3 legendaries to 1 with [whatever primary attribute], what is the secondary attribute that will get boosted as well? I know when you focus primarily on timing for example. Power will suffer but swing path will get a nice boost. Primary lie range fittings also give a nice boost to transition. And so on. I would love to see a chart for all legendary fitting types.

So the fittings are actually completely random drops. So getting the right driver power fittings can take some time, because it is all luck of the draw. Hopefully you will get a good one soon!

How do you apply multiple fittings to one club? If I have a head fitting applied to a driver, for example, and try to add a grip fitting, it swaps out the head fitting. What am I doing wrong? Shouldn’t you be able to add three total fittings per club?
So this seems like it is a glitch or bug you are experiencing, because you should be able to put on one head, one shaft, and one grip to each club in your bag. I have not experienced this glitch myself, but did experience the fittings only lasting one round and also losing multiple fittings bugs. Hope this gets sorted out for you sometime soon
Once you get a lot of legendary and epic fittings is there any reason to keep common and uncommon fittings?
No not really. What I would do is keep upgrading the uncommon to common, common to rare, rare to epic, and epic to legendary.
As I apply fittings will the changes be represented on my chosen archetype?
Yeah when you apply flitting's, it will boost your stats above that of your chosen archetype. But the changes will not show up on the archetype screen. But they will show up in your player stats shown in the fittings screen.
With the high cost to update, I feel u need to plan for the end game. To fully upgrade irons and wedges it will take over 3,000 credits. (Insane). I’ve decided to save all my skill points til I max out, then apply all these to my irons and wedges, and max out both . Only use my fittings for my driver, woods, hybrid and putter. Anytime I get a fitting for a wedge or iron I’ll exchange or update and hopefully get something I can use. I really respect your opinion, what r your thoughts on this. Hi Jim I have had the game 6 days and have 4150 in VC. I have been playing career mode on pro level at easy settings.After beating all the rivals, start playing them again and you will get 250 VC per victory.
Alternatively Sean A has created a fast play course called EEK XP Takes less than 2 mins per round.He has a TH-cam video on it.

Can you get club fittings from playing in society events or are they only given to you from grinding the career mode?
So you can get them as a random drop after society rounds, but much less frequent than on career mode. Career mode is definitely the quickest way because of the extra drops from the rivals and sponsors.
Yeh definitely noticed it’s not as common, suppose I’ll have to grind that career mode till I’m happy with my fittings then!
Also you say that a fitting remains on your club forever? But suppose I have a particular club that I have a shaft fitting then I get a better shaft fitting later on. Can't I remove the first and then add the second? I also don't understand at 12:41 why it's $25 for the first club but $115 for the others. Is it really making you even though you're fitting a shaft, pay a second time for grips you already have on there?! Did you not have a fitting on the 4 iron before? And when you change fittings on the same club part, you just pay the fit fee for that new part? What if you want to switch it back do you have to pay the original fit fee again? I only have time to play this 1-2 times a week at most, I don't think all of this is even worth having the game at all.
Question about lie range. Does lie range pertain to the club I used to hit the ball in the rough or the club I'm using to hit the ball out of the rough?
So the lie range is dependent on the current club that you have selected when you are about to hit a shot from the rough.
@@GamerAbility That seems to make sense but one of the players skills for driver is lie range boost off fairway. Why would that be needed?
Has the fittings glitch been fixed for PC?
One thing I've noticed...you have to add fittings to clubs individually and it's still happening a month later
what is the farthest drive for your driver
@ 10:55 even though you purchased a fitting, your PW power, timing, swing path, transition, shaping, and lie range all stayed the same... power should have went from 67 to 74?, but it didn't... transition was 0 so that didn't change but swing path was suppose to go up 9 and it stayed at 85... and so on... ?? ...
Haven't lost any fittings but nothing in my golf bag ever saves. Need to change clubs and customize them after every round and even then sometimes they don't save.
I have seen this being reported a lot, I hope this gets fixed ASAP.
Yes, I upgrade low level fitting to higher, go play a round and when come back every thing still the same before i do. Nothing lost but nothing save 😅
Theoretically it doesn’t matter whether you play with the starting driver or buy a sim from the shop the stats only differ from fittings and archetype??
I believe this is the case which is kind of nice tbh. You won’t have every person using the same clubs because they have superior stats.
Yes that is true. The different club brands are cosmetic only, and only the primary archetype, club fittings, and golf ball fittings change stats
Hi Ryan it’s the Birdie Train Organiser here 😉 I have been playing loads and loads of rounds of golf in 2K23 and I have ALL….. my clubs on legendary club fittings. I play on pro but I am still not sure what my best settings are from Power all the way down to Lie Range. What’s the best legendary club parts to add to transition, timing etc, or lie play. Most of my club parts on legendary are up at 11+ on the club. Would love ur input to improving my game. Cheers. Birdie Train on its way for the 13th October 😉
Appreciate you @jaja8951!!! Be sure you have that birdie train scheduled for Central Park AG tomorrow morning LOL!!! So I would apply the club fittings that fit your play style. So if you tend to miss tempo, then you definitely want to focus on timing/tempo. If you tempo is good but swing plan is bad then focus on swing plane. So it all depends on what your struggles are and what your strengths are. Now for me, I like Power on Drivers, Timing and swing plane on the rest. Hope this helps!

Just started playing a week ago. My girlfriend and I noticed that when we pick the same 2 golfers i.e. both tiger woods or both John Cena, that her distance reads the same as mine but it says +20 right under it, and out driving me at every hole. I can't figure out what settings are different. She's playing as a guest every time

You say you unlock them by playing he game. Does this include everything from ranked, casual, societies and leveling up? Or only certain ones
Yes you get them from all rounds in the game. Even just playing local matches on different community made courses.

My driver is always fast. Is that timing? Or transition? Not sure the difference on that.
So that is timing, which is the downswing tempo. Timing is key for drivers if you are missing tempos

Ok.... First time playing PGA 2K23 for a couple of months now. Really getting the hang of it and finally moving up to pro.
I saw that I had a TON of fittings that I would never need. I even got the alert that I would need to "deconstruct" some because I had too many.
Now my dilemma! I accidently sold a bunch of the rare fittings that I didnt realize I was using for chipping and putting :( Since I have already played many of the sponsors, are there any options to get more fittings in the future?
If there are no opportunities to earn more fittings, is my only option to start a new profile? Can I delete this one and start on under my current PS5?
So a lot of people actually do that, and you can still earn a lot of fittings! After each round you usually get a random drop of a fitting. This is in local match, Society rounds, and career. You can also go back through the rivals in career and get more fittings. A great way to farm fittings quicker is to play par 3 courses. Bullkraken is a great par 3 course to form fittings! Just search Bullkraken in local match in the search course tab to play it. There are also other good par 3 courses out there as well.
Thanks so much. The fitting that hurt the most was putting. :( I could quickly tell something was awry! I guess I had in my mind that since I had paid for the "fitting" that it would be permanent. Not so much.
@@GamerAbility I played Bullkraken twice and Career twice. The only fittings earned were "Common" any chance for rare or others?

What does putting weight do
It makes the perfect power (white) region and good (grey) region on putting power meter bigger and thus it is easier to hit the right power when putting.
What is the best way to earn fittings?
So playing the career mode and completing sponsor tiers and beating rivals is a great way to start. But the best way after that is by playing a par 3 course such as "Bullkraken Island" or another par 3 course. Rounds are quick and you get a fitting or golf ball sleeve at the end of each round.

Why do my clubs always go back to the default clubs every time I close and open the game. I have to go back and go through all my clubs I've unlocked every time I shut down the game?????
I have seen other people posting this Same problem. Seems to be another bug/glitch in the game. I hope they fix this ASAP for you, that would be a really frustrating glitch.

So your primary archetype you select for your my player is what dictates the default club stats, the different club brands are cosmetic only. Then you can further customize with the club fittings.

Did the game really need all these fittings...its very confusing when it comes to exchange etc..and the archetype thing just doesn't seem realistic to me

When I look at buying new clubs, I cannot see the club stats anywhere - in 2K21 as soon as you clicked or hovered over, I don't remember, you saw a graphic display of how that club's statistics differed from your own - +5 this, -3 that. I've spent 30 minutes on this and I cannot work out how to access this information. Congratulations, HB Studios you managed to create a non-intuitive UI. Jesus Christ.

clubs are just cosmetic skins, the fit is how you change stats.

I have to disagree in that this club fit system SUCKS, especially for weekend warriors like me it will take FOREVER to even become decent. Why even play the game in the first place?
I agree this WOULD be an awesome system if it were a FAIR system which it isn't:
a) WAAAAY too complicated. Maybe for experts like you it's great, but some of us just want to enjoy a casual round of golf every now and then and not have the game give us "very slow" timing on every single swing just because we didn't level up enough.
b) Currency is way too hard to come by. Only $250 at a time only when leveling up? How in the world did you end up with $4000?
c) It makes you pay double for fittings you already have. According to this video, if I add a $100 shaft to a club where I already purchased a $50 grip, it's going to charge me $150 in effect paying for the grip I already have a second time over just to get the shaft. (Like at 12:41). What a RIP-OFF!!

If anyone is looking for divot derby you need to go to casual lobby then click on on line match then you can choose what to play that's where divot derby will be.this menu on this game is horrible. Plus you have to pay for almost every thing. Greedy basturds .Sorry that may be harsh but for reals you pay for the game for what to keep spending more money as if they don't make enough. Greedy !
This game is going to be terrible for new players within weeks they will be unable to compete and may quit the game they have overdone this area
The base builds aren't completely trash. It's not like you WGT where you can only drive 225 yards off the tee. You still have good distance
I think it will be tough at first, but the default archetypes are actually pretty solid. But yeah people who play more will have an advantage with more fittings and such, but they would also have an advantage anyways with more play time
maybe there should be beginner societies set up for players capped at a certain level
@@Jukeboxster There are several beginner societies already set up. Casual Golfers Club is one that comes to mind, but look around, there are others.

Not even close... Dude this is way to much for a beginner. I still don't know what you are doing half the time. I just want to compete but all of this is a turn off to play. Should not have to be a gamer to play a game. I still don't get it????
