Cameron talks like he's in the Dead Poet's Society because this movie is a loose adaptation of Shakespeare's "Taming of the Shrew." They really lean into the Shakespeare references and on rewatch I'm noticing how even the filming gives the feeling of watching a play. Like Joey talking to his friend about Bianca near the beginning when he says "no one is out of my reach," the staging is very play-like.
23:57 I also thought patrick rejected cats kiss in the car when first viewing this but he knew she was intoxicated and cant make good judgment of things. Where as some people would take advantage of someone who is as intoxicated as she was. So respect to patrick 🙌🏾
Julia stiles, the main actress was dating Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who was into Bianca, for a brief period during this film and apparently during her poem she thought about him which made her cry. She did it in one take.
I'M SOOO HAPPY you watched this movie its one of my favorites of all time!!! my favorite fun fact about it is the last scene where Kat is reciting her poem, the actress Julia wasn't really supposed to cry, but something about the poem made her really emotional so she started crying forreal. so it wasn't really acting and that's Heath's real reaction because no one expected her to cry!
Oh and the movie was filmed in Seattle. The school is Stadium High School in Tacoma, Washington. It was originally built as a hotel but was turned into a high school about 100 years ago.
One thing that I don’t see a lot of people talk about is the fact that I feel like the pacing of high school movies like this is really believable because when your still growing and developing you have all these feelings all at once and you can fall in love that fast because your still learning what love is I just thought that was interesting ☺️
@@wwhn I’m positive my husband will be like this with our daughter. 🤣🤣🤣 this was a great reaction. I really do get a lot of joy from your reactions. Thank you!
21:59 I believe this was before Save the Last Dance The people in charge of yhe movie saw Julia Stiles in this scene and they wanted her in Save the Last Dance cuz of this
Yesss! It’s def on my list of comfort movies! I think it’s an adaptation of “the taming of the shrew” by Shakespeare. Love this reaction thanks for all your hard work!
This is one of my favorite movies I'm so glad u watched it!! It's very well written and real, the pacing is good and the characters have flaws but still are easy to love which makes them real💕 I miss movies like this
I've watched this movie sooo many times. I know the poem at the end by heart❤️😂🤭 and always cry at the same moments. Heath was so f***n cute 😍 and they fit so well together
Julia Styles was my favorite back in the day. But this was a young one for Heath Ledger. He was my kinda guy! Wow. The crushing was hard! Haven’t seen this in ages!!! Love watching with you!!!! ❤✌️
If you liked the band and were vibing you should watch Josie and the Pussycats, the band in this movie did all the music for it I think you would love it. It's a short movie too!
lol currently; any twilight movie, first Harry Potter, Divergent, Pitch Perfect, Avatar Way of Water, Noah, Safe Haven, The Shack, BAPs and now also 10 things I hate about you lol
ouuu I seen this yesterday but was too busy to respond so I’m happy I remembered lol here’s a few; Charmed (Original), Greys Anatomy, The Originals, Game of Thrones, HeartStopper and Alone (I fall asleep to this) 😂
i looove this movie aannd your reaction as usual!! lmao im so glad you loved this movie and they way it's shot is definitely a nostalgic comfort of older movies that i looove cuz it gives u a break from all the hi-def content of today and makes the movies feel more reaaaal lol if you're interested, your reaction to the batman triology with heath ledger in number 2 would be TEA! much love
Do you know they did a TV show of this movie? Obviously with completely different cast (except the dad!), it was ok but they did some changes to the plot that made no sense, and it was cancelled after 1 season. I liked the cast and some of the character dynamics, and they made Marketta (Kat’s best friend that doesn’t even show up in this edit lol) and Michael (Cameron’s best friend) gay so they obviously don’t end up together
It's more the era then the school that's not inclusive. The 90's were crazy. My brothers here in Australia used to welcome new teachers with squishing the ass against the window (aka brown eye) the teachers couldn't hit anymore so they swore. It was the times.
They don’t make movies like this no more!!!😭😭
at aaaaalll😭😭 we are constantly being robbed!!

Who lets their sophomore child stay out until 2AM 🤨 they need to look into Chasity’s parents

@@wwhn I wish we'd get them again today, they're cheesy but very charming. I think the closest to these feels that I liked 'recently' is Set It Up
