I'll said it before and I'll say it again. Bujingai for the PS2. A little short and some levels are a bit frustrating, but it's an amazing Hack n' Slash
Demon Chaos for the PS2 if you haven't done a video on it. It's an amazing hack n slash game with a frustrating mission stance. Victory: destroy the enemy. Defeat: allowing someone to die. Everytime I make mention of this game the person goes never heard of it, what's it about?
*Scurge: Hive* for both the GBA and DS. I've only played the DS version, but the simplest way to describe both iterations would be "what if Metroid: Fusion were isometric?" Sure there's more to the game, including the powerups, the constant running back to safe spots to lower the infection meter (which is stressful in a good and bad way), and the protagonist having more to say than Samus, but the game wears it's influence on it's sleeve. The protagonist Jenosa Arma even kind of looks like Samus (but with a different hair color, and a way bigger ponytail). Sadly, the developer, Orbital Media, went defunct in 2014. So despite there being a sequel hinted at the end of the game, I doubt it'll ever happen.
I will always sing the praises of Twinkle Star Sprites (Neo Geo, or the PS2 sequel) - but only as a two player game as it’s a head-to-head game so one player is nothing special. It’s one of my favourite tournament games with some friends and beers, even though it’s a Cute-Em-Up.

Stubbs the Zombie is a really nice game. Stubbs the Zombie has an ICONIC soundtrack that I owned & listened to regularly in high school. The 50s covers by Death Cab, Flaming Lips, Cake, The Raveonettes etc are incredible, I highly recommend if you're into alt music (or even if you're not).
I love the Jurassic Park game on Master System! And for anyone who played it and wondered, what the black coins in the fifth stage do... they remove continues. I have no clue why, but collecting coins in the last stage harm you.
I'm so happy you covered Chaos Legion, that game has been a guilty pleasure of mine since it released, but I had unusually high exposure to the game before it released...
Overlooked games: -Ranger X: Genesis -Freedom Planet: PC/WiiU/Switch/PS4 -Breath of Fire 4: PS1/PS3/PSP/PSV Yes, lots of people know about the series and talk a lot about 2 & 3 but rarely about 4 since it came out around the PS2 launch. So people either seem to not know it or remember it -Fast RMX: Switch People seem to know about it, but you tell them it's 'like F-Zero but with some fun mechanics" they just whine there's not a new F-Zero, when literally being told this game is similar. Down to having a space-car that's colored like Captain Falcon's. Fun vid Joe. Thanks for reminding me why I like Astral Chain but didn't like Chaos Legion. I think that's about as far as I got and was done.
Front Mission Alternative, Shadow of Rome, Gladiator (Xbox), Ring of Red, Steambot Chronicles and MS Saga also criminally overlooked. 👍 Don't forget to check out the names on the weapons and accessories. Great stuff!
Damn, I was actually playing Gungage the other day. I'd never thought I'd have that happen with a GameSack episode. Fun game though! I definitely support Joe in recommending it!
Old games are just a treasure trove of cool concepts and ahead of its time game types, when you picked up a game you never knew quite how it would play. Compared to today where everything is copied and standardised, developers really were throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks. Plus so so many quirky Japanese games, anime being especially hard to come by in the 80's and 90's make it seem super exotic.

"Some stuff happens that would annoy me if I tried to explain it."
I understand completely.
I'm happy to say I played and liked most of these games back in the day.
Nice list.
Overlooked games:
-Ranger X: Genesis
-Freedom Planet: PC/WiiU/Switch/PS4
-Breath of Fire 4: PS1/PS3/PSP/PSV Yes, lots of people know about the series and talk a lot about 2 & 3 but rarely about 4 since it came out around the PS2 launch. So people either seem to not know it or remember it
-Fast RMX: Switch People seem to know about it, but you tell them it's 'like F-Zero but with some fun mechanics" they just whine there's not a new F-Zero, when literally being told this game is similar. Down to having a space-car that's colored like Captain Falcon's.
Fun vid Joe. Thanks for reminding me why I like Astral Chain but didn't like Chaos Legion. I think that's about as far as I got and was done.
I always appreciate these videos as you truly don't see the games named here listed else where.
Front Mission Alternative, Shadow of Rome, Gladiator (Xbox), Ring of Red, Steambot Chronicles and MS Saga also criminally overlooked. 👍
Don't forget to check out the names on the weapons and accessories.
That zombie game looks amazing. I had never heard of it!
Omega Boost was one of the best looking games on the Playstation. I was blown away by what Polyphony was able to do with the limited 3d hardware at the time. They pushed those visuals like they did with Gran Turismo
A new game sack video. Now my Sunday morning is complete.
I am so glad I got stoned for this episode and ending. fucking love it Joe, love it.
I love a good episode of game sack first thing in the morning.
So glad to see Chaos Legion on here!!!...great episode Joe.
