Tyler Durden This is a subjective statement....”I don’t like this shit music”. This is objective.....”This composition was made on a computer”. The OP KNOWS as a producer of music that this is garbage. I know many people that make electronic music and they all have the opinion that this stuff is bottom of the barrel, but they will create a tune for anyone that asks if they pay $$$. Why do you think the music industry is at an all time low? Sell the kids the easiest low brow junk and condition them into thinking THATS what they should be listening to. That’s the vibe I got from the OP. This stuff is trash. However if you pay him I’ll make you a tune. Listen to the new Eminem album. He agrees with some of us.
Dejay Silk that’s what I was thinking. Wtf will my kid listen to when I’m dead? He’ll be driving in his hover car thinking the flux capacitor has a leak!
I know you made this a lifetime ago, but I work on creating in house music (think more like background music, usually easy-listening muzak kind of stuff for meetings and very vanilla information videos). In my free time I've always had fun doing more Rotterdam/Gabber kind've of projects, so seeing the way you built this up was really, really cool. As someone familiar with the layout, it obviously made sense, and I imagine this clip would be even more beneficial for newbs (especially when it comes to using discipline with your layers when applicable). Super rad, fam. Always get a kick out of folks sharing good info for the benefit of all. Props.
You need to put a very mild distortion, or saturation on the 808's, it'll help them sit in the track better. Also turn down you hi hats a tad and raise the level of your clap, that'll really help differ the ghost notes. Use a high pass filter on the lead plucks, they'll sit better too. Use a first layer compression for each of your vocal tracks, and then add them to a bus and compress them all together, that'll help them sound more unified. Also pan your tracks, it'll help fill that stereo field, and make it more interesting for the listener.
Also don't be afraid to use more post effects like reverb or delay, it'll really help widen your track. Don't use too much though, it'll start sounding muddy if ya do. Try an Aux Reverb, and turn your mix down with the delay's, it'll give it just the right amount of wet in the track. I can tell you like to use the effect presets that come with your synth Vst's. But try to do your own post effect processing, that's what really starts to separate a guy who makes beats, and audio engineers. Cheers mate 🤘🏻
The video is called "How every Trap beat is made" not "mixed". Dude is showing you how to construct the beat not enter a mix session which for a lot of people comes later. You mix suggestions are valid though.
Bruh I was turnt AF when the vocals came with the beat. Sad how lyrics aint shit no more, niggas can be talkin bout some SUSpect shit but when that beat bangs everybody ignores it 😂😂😂
I trap. and you are forgetting about all the choppers slicers and beat slayers out there that don't need a lousy rapper with a speech impediment to tell their stories.
Julius SP good samples. Cut out the highs with an eq and like up the kids a bit? A little reverb, other than that, the biggest MLG tip, play it on atleast 5 different systems while you master it. Cars, crappy Bluetooth speakers, etc, really helps you learn your set up, as well as make it so it will sound good on everything. You'd be amazing bow different something can sound with different monitors
In audio engineering school we had to listen to stuff on every type of output possible because most listeners are not listening on studio monitors, but rather on cheap headphones, expensive headphones, car speakers, laptops, surround sound, mono, you get it. You want to make sure you can hear the substance of the music in an average of all formats, so to speak. Catering to all audiences, the consideration of these formats really takes into consideration factors from age to even socioeconomic status and geographical location- not everyone can afford or gain access to some form(s) or (an)other of listening medium. That said, I've seen (I mean heard) some albums designed to be played on headphones or surround, etc, and they open up fantastic possibilities of arranging notes/sounds in specific "places." Otherwise, we want to ensure that the passengers/ guests/ "who-evers" all get a pretty common experience of the music. People greatly interested in hearing music completely will often afford themselves big stereo setups with those monitors or even PA monitors. I fell into that camp myself, and it gets expensive! :D Cheers!
