Thank you for having me on the show :) Since then, we've released the USC, unit specific calibration and collaborated with Waves for the room emulations. The spatial audio mixing on headphones is getting more and more innovation from all the companies in this space. Thanks. R
You are very welcome brother! I am a huge fan of your work and products and your dedication to excellence is inspiring! I hope to come and visit your factory some day! VG :-)
Hello, good review! Since you have both versions S4 and S5, do you think the S5 version is better than the S4 even for stereo mixing? Do you completely replaced your S4x usage by the S5x?
Somehow my S4R 1.1 sounds darker and less airy than my S4X 1.2, which is especially noticable when listening to soft piano. It's almost as it it's filtered down with a LP filter. Because of this, I transformed the S4R into a S4X, but it doesn't change all that much.
Vaughan! Absolutely fantastic review as was your review of the S4X’s thank you for posting. Now that you’ve lived with them for a year, are you still as enthusiastic about them? How are they for Atmos now. I have the S4X’s because of your recommendation. Thanks Vaughan please let me know your thoughts when you have a moment! By the way love my S4X’s!
Just one correction, the earcups are not interchagable, since the drivers in the chassy are slanted. Afaik the piece of rubber on the headphones indicates the left side. Nice review and cool to see Rok elaborating the details about the headphones. I myself have the s4x, i like them but I'm not a fan of the super warm sound of the s4x's since it tends to mask the high mids for my hearing too much. Knowing now that the s5x's have less of that low mid build up makes me think they might fit better for my kind of hearing. Would u say there are any downsides in terms of comfort on the s5x compared to the s4x or is it maybe even improved?
Lots of headphones out there claiming to be the best. With specs that blow your mind. Not everyone can hear the same, and as we get older what we can hear changes.
I would personally never mix on DT 770's!! They are great sounding headphones but that is the problem. They are hyped and flattering and therefore not honest and accurate to my ears. VG :-)
I tried this, but they have one major flaw - mechanical noise transmitted from the cable through to the metal chassis and then direct into your ears. Every time you move and rattle the cable you can hear boings from the metal and the knocking of the cable. I've had this before with some wired in ear head phones that had heavy silicon cabling. In my opinion it's bad enough to not recommend
Interesting, I'm looking into many reviews of trusted channels and no one pointed that out. Could you publish a content about the S5X including this problem?
Never ever bothered me, the sound is so good, they are super comfortable and the team is just amazing - enough points to recommend them - These are definetly headphones I can trust + they are handmade - When any other Headphones break you can throw them away, the Ollo's have replacable parts = better for the environment and your wallet on top of that, don't know where your strong opinion comes from to not recommend them
why are there no sound tests for any of these products? (s4x especially) i want a simple test of the headphones compared to an original recording....not lines on a paper or flappin heads talking about how good they are!! suspect headphones!

Compare them to the Avantone pro planar would be interesting
I think Jean-Michel Jarre Oxymore is a perfect album to test new headphones. :)
Once again VG Great review & video

Wondering if I can use it for mixing in stereo.....

Ahh thanks for the clarification Frank!! VG :-)
@@VaughnGeorge hello, he asked you something
Wondering if I can use it as a good reference for mixing in stereo...
Yes you can!
One problem with S4x is if you play 440 hz A3 short sine note you can hear headband ringing.
My $4,000 focals do the same sht.
Thats with the old model with the thin metal headband right?

Do you think they are a step up over DT 770 or hd 650?
