As a Seventh Day Adventist I appreciate the intimate guitar moments and the calm joyful rendition of the music you bring to your audience. May God continue to guide you all in your ministry.

I loved how you unpacked the limitations that Gospel artists typically have when they perform. As someone who is more lowkey, I prefer the more intimate moments during a show to just sit back and truly enjoy the beautiful music and talent. I appreciate it so much. Please bring your guitar back to Dallas, and we will receive all of it with open arms.

I was VIP! And I had the time of my life! I enjoyed every moment of you and Israel! You, Jonathan are my favorite gospel artist! Israel, I’ve always enjoyed his music. And I enjoyed one hallelujah! So in my opinion, there is nothing more you guys need to do! I didn’t sit until I got in my car to drive home! I loved it. I appreciated that moment I thought it was amazing. This is why I love your music. it soothes the soul. Jonathan, you are teaching us to appreciate those morning. There are a lot of us that appreciated. I love Comparison Kills, Jesus, Smile, I loved all your music. We will get there. You are doing what God want you to do. I am in love with "Overrated!' I also love Maintain, Whole, your soft music, I love your music. I just sent my 24-year-old grandson a text to download No Grey, he is trying navigate is life, but he has a calling on his life and the decisions he is making might interfere with this calling. Let God use the way he wants, too.

    This ended so well
To answer Jonathan’s Q, intentionality is conscious, active, thoughtful effort. And effort doesnt always equate to (desired) result, but in itself, when it’s those 3 words above, then it’s intentionality.
And I think UE should become a thing, it IS a huge thing in relationships generally. Very sharp of Jonathan to point that out.
It would be nice to see Britney’s face though, the camera angles have just her side view the entire time.
Thank you guys for a good & entertaining one ❤

That's so true... Minister what is laid in your heart, the way God laid it in your heart. The crowd might not respond to but you know God is ministering to somebody even it's one. After it all, we minister to the audience of One... He's the One that really knows what people need. For me it's important to hear what God wants to minister first... He knows the hearts and needs of the people more. Sometimes we who minister are also in need of what God is doing through us and so we are there to lean in as much as the 'audience'. Loving that approach, it works.

I have 2 comments, both in response to the unpack... my sister went to One HalleluYah experience (because that's what it was🙌🏽🙌🏽) before me. She sent some video clips. When I saw Jonathan and Israel sitting on stage with the guitars, I said , "I don't need to see anything else to know that I'm so glad I got tickets. THAT was everything, and I need to be in person for that!" Then.... being in the room when it took place, it was such an aww inspiring moment. I can't speak for anyone else, but for me, I was so in tune with hearing what was happening lyrically and vocally that I appreciated how quiet it was in the auditorium so I could fully appreciate it.

Or maybe the seats are too close so they feel they might not get to move as much. Lol ! but Jon you do a great job engaging with your audience. Unpacking: "I often wonder, did yall know how good that was?"
Jonathan, tap in deeper. As an artist you have to innerstand it all 360. You and Israel are jamming on the same frequency making an ethereal moment, in city and city. Not everyone will be in that frequency. Not all created moments on stage are for the audience. And when we tap even deeper, we learned that these moments aren't created for others at all. Because what others seek, will find them regardless. It's your life game, your present moment always, those moments are for you 🌿

I'm a woman and I care deeply about birthdays; however, if on a break the least I would expect or give is a Happy Birthday. Giving or receiving a gift is the next stretch, but also not expected. Showing up or expecting the other person to show up is a negative given a break. That's possibly dangerous and/or confusing behavior. I agree with Brunes in respecting the boundaries of the mutual decision of the break. Now on the other hand, show up with a gift in hand if you trying to get her back because that's what that type of energy is going to give.

My boyfriend and I took a break, too. We wanted time to evaluate the relationship and see if we were ready for the next step (engagement). His birthday was in the middle of the break and we still celebrated it together because we still cared about each other 🤗 The next month, on my birthday, he proposed and now we're married. So maybe yes to celebrating birthdays during breaks? 😅

This was a great episode but MAN it was hard for me to watch lol. With Brunes’ situation I’m honestly on neither side. I don’t think he necessarily did anything wrong but to Jon’s point there is an inherit unfairness to relationships. And to be honest I think there’s some biblical truth to it. As husbands we are called to lay down our life for our bride as Christ did the same for the church, and to love her in the same way Christ loves the church. That is entirely unfair it just is 😂. But at the same time I do think it’s on women to not abuse that, in the same way as Paul describes you don’t just willingly keep sinning knowing that God will forgive you. (I’m paraphrasing a lot I know. Please don’t get at me lol.) So even in my own relationship being engaged now on my way to being married, I have plenty of conversations with my fiancé about what non-negotiables there are. And there’s grace for me if we didn’t necessarily discuss something in advance. So bringing it back to Brunes, I do think that there should’ve been grace for him cause at least he tried to communicate. Sometimes it’s on you to be vulnerable enough to ask for what you really want. I can speak for myself that as a man it does me ZERO pleasure to have my partner dissatisfied. But I can’t just automatically know what is going to satisfy you. So the solution is communication snd accountability. If you tell me birthdays are important and no matter how bad we may argue or whatever the circumstance is I would rather you be there and it feel awkward than to not have you there at all, THEN it is on me to make sure I show up regardless of however angry or confused I am. Cause loving someone is a sacrifice and like I stated before especially as the man of the relationship. There’s definitely more to say but this comment is long enough lol. If you made it to the end I hope you didn’t feel like I wasted your time. Ted Talk over. Be blessed and thank you Jonathan for this podcast!

There are times in this walk in worship I only have enough energy to soak in worship, and the shout may be in the form of tears. 😭 . So, a different presentation of gospel music I think would just expand its reach . It can also cultivate a space for people to appreciate in a new way the words, content and the music. I wanted that part of the concert to be longer, tbh.

I think it takes a level of humility and maturity to come to the conclusion that we as humans deserve death according to the standard of the Holy God who created us. Then when we arrive at the truth of that fact, we must live by it once we believe it. Then we must do as the Word says and in all things give God thanks.

Come on sir, Don't do us like that. Sometimes the quiet in the moment is us taking in the moment, I feel exactly what Brunes said. In the Jacksonville show, that was my favorite part of the Concert. Not to mention two of my favorite songs.
I remember going into worship, and you stopping to say, "500million thousand changes" also. Lol
The break conversation, in my opinion, is very dependent on the relationship. I think it was a valid question, if they were more on the side of breaking for good or getting back together. Once again, I agreed if she atleast wanted him to be there, even as a friend because if you plan to live life together you should still at least be friends, she should have invited him. My thoughts though.

I wouldn’t expect a birthday gift/surprise if we are on a break, but I also don’t believe in breaks. We done if we break up… 🤷🏾‍♀️ I would probably expect a birthday text at the most.

I feel a simple happy birthday call or text to acknowledge her would have been nice!

My opinion , knowing a birthday or holiday falls within “the break” could have been discussed prior to. A clear understanding and mutual agreement to celebrate or not (if you care for that person) should be discussed. The terms and conditions matter when it comes to matters of the heart. Most people expect and they truly care. Many do not. Depends on the person. Clear Communication is key. A simple text would have made me smile vs the next woman may have expected an in person met up… Communicating prior to is displaying intentionality.

A break is a break. I agree with Brunes. If there is an expectation to acknowledge a birthday, it should be communicated up front going into the break.

I think I agree with Brunes on the break. If you’re on a break I wouldn’t expect anything in order to properly utilize the break. In the event they hung out on her birthday activities could’ve happened that would’ve caused them to forgo the break, thereby not solving this issues that arose. Even if there weren’t any such activities I think it wouldn’t be appropriate because at that point you’ve got two folks that aren’t sure they’re gonna be together… Even sending a birthday message or so would’ve been done with a sore heart. So I say a break is a break…for a reason. Celebrate the birthday after the break 🥳

6:25 Now, wait a second 👏🏾. I was a VIP, on the 3rd row and I was up, hype, you hear me 🗣️, sweating because a room full of people, so close to each other, make it HOT real quick, mmmkay. I almost sweat off my makeup 😆.
In all seriousness, I don’t know about everyone else, but for me, that moment was so intimate, beautiful, and calming. It was almost as though God had His arms wrapped around me, holding me, letting me know that everything’s going to be fine. It’s exactly what I needed at that exact moment 🙌🏾💜.

now let’s discuss this birthday break stuff…. if we are on a break, and my birthday comes and you don’t celebrate my birthday with me or for me or buy me a gift or something somehow someway …that is going to play a factor when it comes time to me making my decision on whether or not we gonna get back to together. if you can’t put your differences aside when it comes to something as significant as a birthday, if we do get back together, or end up getting married and we have a falling out ,how am I to know that you are gonna come through for the important stuff.
