In the video - short edits taken during the initial test flights trials of the NOTAR system calibration.
No short-cuts have been taken in the design of the NOTAR system, and there is an actual separate thrust vectoring jet nozzle, powered by a dedicated turbine, which is regulated/coupled with the main engines N1/N2, torque, airspeed and other inputs.
Additional elements of the NOTAR system are being simulated, such as the additive forces induce by the Coanda effect on the tail-boom (the actual Coanda effect forces are not being calculated directly but being added, interactively with the work of the entire NOTAR system).
The NOTAR system simulation dedicated turbine is responsible for air pressure/airflow which is translated to Coanda effect forces over the boom, and also via an actual valve at the end of the boom which closes and opens with the inputs and vector changes of the anti-torque system, providing actual, physics based anti-torque control. The valve must be regulated to avoid unwanted behavior such as nosing down when the system is in a balanced position, during hovering, forward flight, high power/low power conditions and more...
The tail section also plays part with controllable vertical stabilizers, which serves also as 'yaw damper' in forward flight.

Hi there! Yes, authentic sounds, inside out. Also being extensively tested with the Pro Flight Trainer (and a wide variety of desktop oriented Joysticks, to maximize tune-ups for a variety of Joystick hardware), and of course it has the 'Designed for VR/Optimized for 2d' tag. It is one of the VSKYLABS Flagship projects! :)
