Destiny 2 'Our Favourite Game We All Hate' I have played all 3 games in my time so I can at least give some input on the matter. The numbers don't look good for Destiny 2 not until they release the new episode arc which can be played continuously, in one sitting unlike the first episode. TFD is an amazing game, makes me smile man love it. Warframe is also a great game but I believe people are waiting on soul frame to be honest.
tfd is not really a better game your basicaly doing x4 time the grind to get worst destiny/warframe item, riskrunner is more interesting gun than most gun in tfd and riskrunner is lacking, most activity in tfd are so boring that it make me question what i my doing with my life, VOG a 10 years old activity has more meat and bone thant everything tfd has to offer no wonder why gaming suck now, tdf is just doing boring patrol and public event type mission no wonder why people start afk grind, the only reason people play it is because its f2p. tfd has been out for not even a mounth and its number start going to meet destiny number and destiny is a old ass game. Its crazy to me that people think tfd is a good game, its hella boring, hella timegated, power fantasy and desing are on the floor and took idea from other game and managed to do them the worst.
*sigh* bad take. Warframe is the one that 'won'. And it's currently the best of the lot. Not destiny or TFD. This is why jumping on hype train is bad idea. Did we all forget anthem, avengers etc?
Your analysis seems to be without bias or influence sir. I appreciate the numbers you provided to support matters. You give the cold hard truth mate. It provides context and stimulates thought. I loved your flawless D2 vids and am enjoying your TFD vids as well sir. Keep it coming. Thanks.
It takes a high morale for a youtube content creator to spread the truth than false market a product to make money. I'm sure if you change your tactic and do the similar things as Aztecross or Khakis do you can make more money and clicks and views and all that. But some of us D2 addicts need to be told the hard truth and open our eyes. There are certainly more games out there worth to explore. It's also important to send the company the message too, that it is not right to overpromise and underdeliver. I applaud you to be different, and I sincerely thank you for making this type of video to spread the message.
Gone off Cross, his content is full of fake positivity to keep the cash flow going, and like Kakis they are too scared to try other content in fear of their channels, they are banking on a D3
We need small competent channels cuz' they usually not corrupt and not clickbaiting. I guess all contant creators want to be big channel, but if that's the goal just follow what Aztecross or Datto doing. I never ever watch big channels like Cross or Datto, they are just click baiting and tell us their oponion of a weapon or seasonal story... I don't know why should I care... They never talk about strat or enemy spawn or solo any meaningful challenge or mission. Even when they do damage test or super damage test it is not that important. It's fun to watch but everything is so sutiational and random in D2 and u can't always pull off the strat.
10 yr Destiny player. I quit. Because I’m a mostly solo player & the exotic class items required 2nd player with comms for raid lite timed mission. I am not doing that mission again with LFGs for my Alt characters. And the ridiculous drops for the exotic class item with 61 possible combinations, thats a massive slog. Just let me craft an exotic class item with the perks I want so I can copy a build I see from one of the millionaire Destiny streamers. Lol 😂 But seriously Also the Episodes are just seasons. I see both sides of destiny 3 debate but I ain’t dealing with all this slog slop nonsense again, I would bet a destiny 3 would have reskinned D1 & D2 stuff and that’s ridiculous. Bungie has screwed it up. Great video, thank you for getting this out there.
These are pretty good numbers for Destiny 2. The game has come to an end, many players have said goodbye to it, while other players are quietly playing through the final seasons. And this despite the fact that add-ons for the game are very expensive. And The First Descendant is just a fairly new free game that came out at the end of Destiny 2 and many players decided to try it, but... It doesn't look like Destiny at all, it feels like Destiny is one of its kind. It’s even strange, was it really so difficult to make another first-person looter shooter? X ))
TFD is a combination of Warframe and D2 together. TFD is not like destiny at all due to it being third person that is the distinct difference. But that's where the differences stop the loot is similar it has exotic weapons with exotic perks albeit need a buff but the idea is there. The progression however is Warframe based with mods which tbf is s superior levelling system to D2 anyways. D2's guardian ranks are also very poor, TFD knows this so they used War frames Mastery ranks. It really does work well. As we know in the world the Chinese Koreans etc they are the best copier's in the world for like watches cars etc. This is the same with games. Its kind of awesome to see like destiny 2 gun designs ripped off almost in TFD guns like Ikelos sniper and legend of Acrius literally in TFD. I like it because its competition simply.
Yeah I been playing destiny since day 1 and I agree this game is exhausted like the the majority of big online games is all about making money what we need is new revolutionary ideas
Glad someone with a voice has their finger on the pulse of the game i wouldnt of bought all these expansions over the years if i didn't like the game but its not the same game i played when i started back in forsaken ..for better and worse seems like the worse is alot worse tho
The grind of just getting to 2005 light level has felt really bad. If they move onto a Destiny 3, I probably won't continue, since I don't want to spend X amount of years just getting back what I spent X amount of years getting. And as soon as I found people to play Destiny with, they got sick of the same things and moved over to TFD. 😓
@@splatjack666 they need to re work power from the ground up. A new system entirely. Bungie are innovative they have resources to do this. TFD is holding my attention and really well atm. There is a skill gap too, which i need to learn.
It's worth noting that Warframe on PC doesn't have to be played through Steam, so the PC numbers for it are higher. Also Warframe's premium currency can be traded, so a slightly different monetization strategy than TFD. Totally agree with your assessment of Destiny. I come back for every expansion then take breaks, my breaks have been getting much longer and my playtime getting much shorter. At this point I don't know if I'll be back.
Ohhhh that changes things. So how do we know the full total active playerbase for Warframe then. So it sounds like you like warframe the most out of the 3? I do love warframe i just think swords sorta ruin it. With TFD its guns more which does help for me. I kinda like all 3, with D2 being annoying to me atm for reasons i stated.
@@Chablo91 I'm not sure how we could get those numbers. As for whether I like it best, tough to say. I haven't played much of TFD. If I had to pick a developer to support I would definitely go with Digital Extremes. They seem to actually listen to their player base and they're not afraid to try new things. Sometimes they try stuff that doesn't work, but that's ok by me. I'll take that any day over the same stuff every three or four months.
It is. But the patterns need a buff, either that or the shape stabilizers. Warframe does void relics better than TFD does patterns. Big shame because the game has potential
Agree with your comments. The game as is not worth playing anymore. D3 with everything new would be the best long term vision for the franchise. Games like New Descendant are just too fresh and exciting to want to me to go back to D2. The game has come to a natural end for me. Good, honest review and commentary
Don't hold it against you at all for taking a break. Most normal people need to focus on their job and personal life, but for Destiny youtubers it basically is their job to hype up every single weapon, ornament, slight change etc.
I became fatigued with the seasonal content and decided not to buy the annual pass. This change would have left me feeling ripped off. It was a poor decision to increase xp required to level up the seasonal pass. A grimy ploy to increase individual engagement.
Good video. Agree with everything you said here. I did stop playing D2 in the middle of Echo 1. Just not bothered to continue, also not finishing the Battle Pass. Edit: In TFD for a week now too. :)
Im rank 80 on TFD battle pass the weeklies and daily's are so good. The pass is enjoyable to level up in TFD. As did I stop D2 similar time to you. Have a good one cheers :)
With D2 there'll be another spike when Episode 2 releases, then steadily decrease again until episode 3. Overall it makes sense players would decline post-TFS since the main story has pretty much concluded, these episodes are just off-shoots that won't attract players who aren't part of the core player-base. At this point anyone still playing D2 is someone heavily invested in the game and is paying for seasons. As long as they keep releasing new content with new activities, weapons, then the core player-base will remain pretty stable. A large long-term spike or increase in players would only really be possible with D3 if it looks promising enough.
Dude, always love your videos and D2 content. I agree with all your points apart from one massive glaring issue. You kind of mention it but gloss over it. Of course D2 will have low numbers now. Final Shape was the end of a 10 year saga. The First Descendant is free and brand new! If we are having this conversation in 5 years time, hell even in a years time then fair play. No looter shooter has stood the test of time apart from Destiny. I've started The First Descendant and it's fine. I hope they keep adding to it but will it last? History tells us no.The gameplay and feel is what has made Destiny great. Is it stale and in need of a massive refresh? Absolutely. I think most people would agree on that.
At the moment, I log in on tuesday, do the weekly stuff, do one nightfall to renew my title and after that I am full on grinding in TFD. most of my friends and clanmates don't even do that nowadays. Even though I really think TFD is just WAAY too grindy with chances to get items that then have chances to convert into other things. At least in Destiny I can go and farm the thing I want. either it drops or it doesn't, but there is not a 3% dropchance and then a 6% convert chance. A Casual player in late game can easily invest 4 hours and achieve absolutely nothing in TFD.
The Final Shape was fine. A fitting end to the saga. But yeah, episodes are just longer seasons. There are some nice improvements and prismatic is nice, but the *gameplay* itself is just variations of dunk the motes, shoot the crystals, capture the plates. I still play with my friends, but I no longer care about reaching pinnacle or doing the new raid. I've been spending more and more time with the Borderlands series. I can take a break for any period of time and pick up right where I left off. No battlepass, no MTX's, etc. I can grind when I want, have fun with builds, etc.
I havnt logged on for 2 weeks now I think. 1st time in over 11k hours. I have zero interest, I recently bought the x/s version of GTA and I've been having really good fun.... even though I've played since day one it's just really nice looking and fun with the new look.
Agreed, in my mind Sonys purchase confirmed a destiny 3. I know they bought the studio(bungie) but surely not to flog an old horse. We need a new start on an up to date engine to carry the format(destiny) in keeping up in being relivent. Definitely a kick in the teeth with the changers in ranking/powering up. I was ranked at 102 when you dropped the questioning/revealing heads up video. My head had just arrived at the what the fcuk moment with the new restrictions. I'm totally agreed with Glad and your opinion on current situation. Appreciate your research to inform us(me) with heads ups... Thanks for sharing... "👍"...
If we know Sony which we do they like new IP's. So there money surely isn't all going into just D2, D2 just uses a engine to re colour and re skin stuff all those assets were from previous. SO those billions has to be going elsewhere marathon sure. But marathon is going to be a hero shooter and I don't really know who thats for. So we come back in this paradox of just needing a new IP Destiny related.
I tried FD but it doesn't run as well on my decently specced laptop. The endgame looks like a numbers grind like Diablo 3 was (my personal point of reference), which is a red flag for me. I'll see if this dungeon makes it feel less empty, but I'll stick with Destiny for now.
I like when you speak your mind you’re one of the true geniuses in this game I consider. What major changes do you think we need to make ? For me..apex legends, Fortnite etc the thing that sets them apart is they have tournaments to make money. If destiny implied this I think it would give a true end game experience. Gambit, crucible and vanguard tournaments. Money on the line and mind. Leaderboards. If d2 had money to be made guaranteed people from other games would flock if the price is right. Do you know other games actually have online gambling where you can bet on players? Hence the number one game at the beginning of your video counter strike2. Tbis might be an unpopular or not thought of opinion but I think if this is brought into the game it’s a game changer. Random rolls, new maps, new percs, it’s all great for a week or 3 but then it goes stale. I’m telling you with what they have right now if this idea is implemented it could succeed. Could be worthy of a video chablo. 😊
You want D2 to be Esports then? Like CSGO - Counter strike. Counter strike has no abilities its all gun skill which is why its marketable for competitiveness and tournys. For D2 to be esports they would have to make a level playing field. And we know people like their space magic that's the problem. I understand what your saying lets have some tournaments and such but official by bungie. They would need to actually balance the game properly. BYF commentated on a gambit tournament go watch it. It was a while ago though. I think D2 needs a new IP so like a D3. We cant keep just updating D2 its going to be fatigued. We need to go to level zero with a new story and new characters. Thanks mate you take care :)
@@Chablo91 Bungie cared about tourneys in D1 but they won't support them in D2 since the community ones have very prohibitive loadout rules. But I agree for it to be impossible, since their anticheat is atrocious and the balancing is far from competitive
@@Chablo91 100 percent new ip. Just need a Time Machine so we can fast forward 3 years and play it lol. Yeah I do think they could shift gears and do a esports. For all game modes. I watched the byf/fallout gambit tournament. I was hoping that would of grown because I think I would of done well in that competitive game mode. Space magic lol. Pc dudes full of macro cheating crap. Doesn’t impress me. These days every Tom dick and Harry is soloing content where in the console days it was very few and far and for good reason. You and I were in that tier. From what I’ve heard from credible leaks d3 is in the making. No subclasses just one character and abilities. I’m sure that will be on the new console timeframe wise. It’s just hard to beat a game like destiny. It’s music, gun play feel is top tier and hard to find a game that competes. But yeah I do think some sort of esports vibe would be amazing for the game. Lot of good players out there not on the twitch TH-cam vibe that deserve recognition and could make it a profitable lifestyle. “If ya build it they will come” or some shit like that lol. Idk props mate for always speaking the truth and your mind.
I don't think most people have ANY interest in further supporting the Bungo Recycling Co to hear more whining from their stale characters. Most the players I know are only playing still due to the investment, the friends, the movement/combat, character customization and art. Essentially every other aspect of the game has become a chore, at best, to being so annoying as to make a person start asking the important question of - Why am I wasting life playing video games. Now that video games demand every bit of time they can squeeze out of you while they try to sell you virtual possessions. I'm not a n00b in D2, nor do I expect instant gratification. I, like many I know, are tired of the arbitrary, boring, time consuming aspects of the game. It feels like much of the game is fly here, run there, click random item, return to talk to npc, repeat, repeat, with maybe a brief bit of easy fights along the way, some more rambling by the tired characters, fetch again, have a little fun shooting, then back to talk to npc, dismantle mostly uneeded loot for questionable resource rewards, "see ya next week, sucker! I mean... guardian." Failsafe laughs.
I don't necessarily disagree with your criticism of the episode structure, nor with Gladd's argument for a reset/D3. But this video's thesis feels like unsubstantiated doomerism. Destiny has been going strong for 10+ years and is coming off an undeniably successful expansion (not to mention the equally successful free update earlier this year). Despite some mixed reception to the episode structure, I think overall community sentiment is pretty high. I think you're way overstating how much of a problem the declining activity is; this is the norm every time we enter the lull period between content drops. You can go back steam charts for years and see the exact same trends consistently. You can also see about a dozen "Destiny Killers" that came and went, and IMO, The First Descendant is likely the next one on the block. Even now, community reception for that game is more mixed than it is for Destiny. Interested to revisit this in a few months and see how things look.
Got to admit im struggling with it at the minute. Ive downloaded several games the last few days that i havent played over the last few years to try them out because im spending a lot of time in orbit. Some great new weapons in D2 and i'll still be logging on trying builds etc but im flagging for sure
If you are on PSN, bordelrands is free right now and has had some resurgence. If even played D2 like you just logging in occasionally the game is still fun if we ignore the big issues I suppose.
@@NorthyRamone1973 your gonna need to over look some things. Give it a good chance. Early game may make you roll your eyes. But mid to late the game is fire man.
Well I just had to resubscribe. I had notifications on and would watch all your vids and comment once in a while, even mentioning you on other channels. I noticed recently your vids weren't popping up. I can't wait until there's a viable youtube alternative.
because I made a 2nd channel I haven't posted anything up here for a solid month so that will be why. Thank you I appreciate your awareness very kind of you :)
I took a break from destiny a while ago played the final shape and it was good but I just lost interest all my og friends were gone so I have left destiny behind and honestly don’t think I’ll be back
I quit playing due to prismatic titan and realizing theirs no real identity. Other classes do what we do and better especially now with exotic class items. I've been playing first decendent and loving it bruh. It's an expensive game for sure more then destiny but you don't have to go in your wallet. Won't just back into D2 until they fixed titans .. whenever that happens lol
"Complete restart, new everything, nothing carried over". If Bungie doesn't allow me to carry over my loot from D2 to D3 or whatever, I'm done! Great insight and it's something I've seen with members of the community I run missions with... many have moved on to other games after TFS grind died down. And only comeback when something new drops. One of my fireteam members grinded out TFS with me and then started playing TFD, he only cane back to D2 to farm for the new Solor sidearm. RNG was good to him and he got the God roll in the first week. Well, he's gone back to TFD, I probably won't see him again until Act 3 drops. 😂
@@chinbusy6336 why do you want old loot to carry over? There are 24 hours in a day its impossible to play with all your loot and the new D3 loot if a new game was to be made. What they could do is invent some highly sophisticated gallery collections tab, where you could grab legacy guns. To have the new loot impactful the old gotta go. Im a collector like you but with a 700 vault tab playing all 3 characters, I don't think 2000 is enough. TFD grind is starting to annoy me. Specifically the patterns and the drop rates. Gaming in 2024 is just not very good. All the best brother
Found out why joints ached and mind wasn't functioning...cholesterol meds! Zetia. I can now play but finding I'd rather work outside during the summer. I did miss the sound of your sweet voice, man! So back but not often. I hate ritual pathfinder! Fix, please, Bungie! I hated bugs for getting Khovostok. Wasted so much time. I still don't have it and running the meatball for the drop is getting so boring! We do need D3! Complexity that makes no sense seems lazy?
Destiny is now boring again, the game loop is dead, the seasonal model is dead. Love the honesty, the train drivers will be 100% fake positive to keep the train chugging
I'm totally on the same page with you but I'm also put off with the coop focus missions. I just don't think they're going to be fun so I've avoided playing because this is the next thing I want to do. Certain of the higher profile content creators are defending Bungie and their decisions in spite of how unpopular a lot of Bungie"s decisions are and they are getting roasted by their viewers. But Bungie goes really hard with designing the game for player engagement at the expense of fun. And it feels so extreme that it's unethical and reminds me of mobile games. So I've been looking really hard for a replacement as well.
There are no other live pve fps games. Destiny 2 is the only one. Shit loads of crappy third person shooters which I fucking hate but not one other fps.
This is the issue, if literally one dev comes out and makes a looter shooter that is first person than this will be direct competition. We are not game devs but its seems as though third person is easier to develop over first person. For example if warframe was FPS it would literally take over as it has superior RPG levelling mechanics in there aside form there crafting times though. The only thing D2 has over other looter shooters is its gunplay and movement. Which tbf is very important so they have one big party trick rest of their game has poor RPG stuff material capping etc.
As someone who has enjoyed D2 and played it far more than any other game in my library, I'm not sure I fully agree, but I do know that I am burnt out on the current gameplay loop. In my humble opinion that game offers nothing to work towards. Sure there are the god rolls and titles etc... but these have become less and less meaningful given the sheer quantity of them (oh looks another 600RPM auto-rifle...). The game is in a funny place, it is as near damn it an MMO just offers no long term objectives to work towards (that have any in-game meaning). Seasons and now episodes follow the same borrowed power model and give very little difference in game play modes. It is tired, but a new game will just offer the same with a different lick of paint. Bungie need to be able to pivot and game the gameplay loop frequently (the gun play is very good, but we need more reasons to press the trigger)
hey brother! i know many elite players enjoy the difficulty increase but average players do not. i. my opinion final shape is absolute garbage. it has been awful. i usually get up my power and then go and do endgame stuff or attempt raids and all. with the power caps i’m unable to do some content confidently. steam says one thing but i’m telling you people are walking away they did when bungLe sunset weapons. i have been following along with your first descendent stuff. i played the first few missions but i’m not really far along yet. i’ve also been playing the updated no man’s sky.
When I tell people how bad the game is right now and the fact that we keep paying for reissued and reskined weapons they call me a hater and make me think im crazy. Then i mentioned how forsaken was peak and then tell me im glazing lmaooo. I then proceed to look up their hours played and most of them have less than 1200 hours over 25 seasons which is mind-boggling because i dont beleive they have enough hours to even justify that this is a good game right now.
TFD has totally made me forget about D2. After 10 years with Destiny, and more than 8K hours on D2 alone, this is the first time i have uninstalled the game and not played it in over a month. Am 100% done with everything that has Bungie's name on it. They have underdelivered and manipulated me for the last time. TFD let's you play the entire game for free and earn everything, except for some cosmetics. Gameplay is better than D2 in my opinion. So far ive gotten every single character including ult's and almost all weapons, and i didnt spend a dime. TFD is a 10/10 game in my book, and the devs actually listen to the players and make changes to the game on a weekly basis.
I promise you if Bungie comes out and says they are removing our vault the exodus will be worse. There are a SEA of ppl who would leave and never return, or worse just keep playing D2. There is no "nothing carried" over and "keep the current community". D2 has now been 6 years+ far longer than D1 the fallout would be far worse, they would need to bring in a whole new player base
So with that answer in mind. How long do you want D2 to go on for? Like 2030 or sunthing. Technology moves on if you keep the same game it will be like playing WOW but nowadays. I dont think D2 should be like WOW were its continuous over decades like that. What I'm saying is what's our limit of years to play D2 as players.
i have also been playing first descendant but these charts are highly skewed as it is free to play and new. i have 150 hours in the game and when people get to the endgame farm and realise that the majority of the time you will have to farm outposts which involves about 10 seconds of holding E and then standing around doing nothing for 1 minute waiting for the cooldown just to repeat the holding of E for a 25% drop chance of the amorphous material that you then have to farm the void materials to open and then hope thaty when you open it you will recieve the item you want with drop chances as low as 3% a lot of players will leave and move onto something else as this loop is incredibly boring and has made me personally quit the game after 150 hours.
@@levismith3955 i have 125 so similar to you. Its not that, its the patterns. Theres something wrong with the drop rates. For example i want lepic just base for now too. Lepic code i cant get it. They need to buff shape stabilizers so that you can buff individual rewards on the pattern. The outposts and the void shard farming is now better. What still needs addressed is the patterns and each drop rate.
Your on point and it's crazy how it's more grindy than before! And how do people have time to play this game ? You can't even play a strike in 25 min ! Destiny has nothing special in the game ,such a waste of time! Such a trash game now!
Looter shooter games should focus on low play times to farm stuff. Mid game and early game should follow similarly to TFD with like 10 mins or less play times to farm stuff. End game is where it gets blurry, D2 has just added 10 to 20 mins on every activity due to power scale capping. Which means less loot per session. End game should have activities really challenging but still within the realms of maybe 30 to 40 mins tops for some things and 10 to 20 for everything lese. The key though is the more you level in end game the more you shortening your farms times hence fourth a sense of mastery. D2 goes against this. I'm excluding raids of course they can be along as they are now.
Release a Skyrim 2, will be in the top 5. Shame about D2, needs some magic back in the game or execs that care about the community rather than numbers. Thanks mate 🇬🇧🍺
Its impossible to know the future right? What is clear is that D2 itself is imploding. Whilst TFD isn't world breaking its the only other looter shooter apart from warframe. There are no good games tbh.
@@joelledbetter2926 this is what ppl are saying. Thats one less season pass exotic as well. And tbf those have been good over the years. To get one less isn't good.
@Chablo91 this is par for the course ...sunsetting was apart of the we made it now let's make money philosophy change at bungie ..beyond light launch really showcased where we were heading ...easy to play game with over powered abilities and reissued weapons that were previously sunset and calling it new...there should of been a revolt a long time ago
Destiny will remain the best looter shooter imo. That being said, all looter shooters are too grindy with First ascendant being rank 1. Destiny doesnt give me the feeling to stick around and play it, First descendant was fun for a while, I stopped halfway through the game because the missions were always the same and it was too grindy and too much luck based drops. Especially with void reactor drops, needing materials to spawn the reactor boss, materials for the actual drop chance, and if you dont get the drop you need, back to farming void fragments for the materials again. You are almost forced to use in-game money to buy your ultimate descendant
I don't want this to be an argument about not wanting d3 because I know that's useless at this point. And look, I get why they want it as a new game can definitely give significant change to the gameplay and other aspects. However, I also hope people are ready for the problems that may arise or get worse with even just the mere EXISTENCE of d3. I hope people are ready for bungie to have more ammunition to reskin from, I hope people are ready for the community dividing changes and features added in d3, I hope people are ready for things bungie might permanently cut from d2 in d3 for "technical" or "development reasons", I hope people are ready for more monetization, I hope people are ready for d3 to eventually just become another amalgamation of both of the games. I hope people are ready for the people who want Bungie to just delete d3 and go back to d2. Btw, d2 exists rn because Activision wanted it. Bungie always wanted there to just be 1 game, but Activision wanted more, so here we are.
When we went from D1 to D2 we as players paid for that, 12 months to be precise. I would rather they launched a D3 that struggles at first so be it to then get 4 to 5 glorious years afterwards. Because sometimes we have to take a step back to go two forward. I'm fully prepared for the F ups of a new launch to then be in a great position in 2026. As opposed to playing D2 Over and over. We have QOL sure but nothing innovative like ground breaking and D2 only being good 2 months out of a year isn't good either. In reality bungie should now know how to launch a new IP better this time we are coming a few years on now since 2017.
@@Chablo91 The problem with that is...will it last? And if so, at what cost? How much will we and Bungie have to go through to get to a point where the game is great? And how long will that last? I don't really see bungie moving away from their "roller coaster" quality consistency as they don't really have TRUE competition. Yes, Warframe and TFD don't count, I can explain why but that's not why I'm here.
Yeah its pretty pathetic. If you grind you get rewarded by having to grind more because of time gating. I should already be around lve 200+ im at 2019 about to hit 2020.
Correct mate, can you believe people are still in denial about this. I have had some people personally talk to me and say I'm shameful for lying about XP gating. Its literally in the game lol ppl will defend without even looking at the evidence.
I hate that I have 3 characters 1 off each done all levels on one thinking it will be worth the grind. Bollox having to do it all ground hog day. I work so 2 characters playing catch-up. Going bald pulling my hair. Going blind yip screen blind it needs sorting quick.. bored.
I hate doing seasonal quests 3 times every season it really bothers me. Just as you don't want to level all 3 I can understand some what. The power level system needs a ground up re-work I asked for this before final shape. They tweaked power level so that your mates can help you out which hasn't really settled with the community
Are you happy that the game hasn't changed with numbers in 4 years? We are essentially just a bigger Warframe audience then. Only certain ppl play D2 never mainstream only on expansions once a year.
@@Chablo91 things could always be better. all i'm trying to say is that objectively, things have not gotten worse. I think the best thing they could do for the game is to make pve harder, and remove strand clones from pvp. Destiny 3 would also be a good idea.
@@anonymousanonymous-nt8lsWe need the full year to explore this topic fully don't we. So only in 2025 will we truly know if episodes are enough for us to stick around. A new IP if done right would take over the market which leaks suggest they are making D3. But its a grain of salt until we know
If I open lfg and see tabs in every raid, dungeon, and most activities with a healthy refresh rate. That's a playercount I'm happy with. The current playercount is, in part, seasonal content playerbase, which this looks like the norm. Also, 2 free to play mmos and elden ring also having an amazing dlc will soak up more of the casual audience thats boosts playercounts. I imagine once human (i enjoy) will see a heavy dropoff in 4 weeks if they dony figure out the resets and first descendant i really have no clue. Im amazed people are playing that game, but given how difficult it is to enter the destiny and warframe spheres, it's an easy alternative. I would also assume that TFD gained some gacha audience. @Chablo91
I just wanted to see the Final Shape through and it was exactly as i thought, gayeeeee. I'm glad i don't have to look at my vault anymore with all the shit i might use but never do. Gladd is right, after all, they did hire the guy that created the formula to get players addicted to games, and the way Bungie does things is probably a formula that he wrote for them. Only interested in Black Myth Wukong.
Paul may be a good person outside of his job I don't know. But inside the job he needs to maybe try a bit more with his gameplay and push himself more. Its thoughts first gameplay 2nd with him.
Eh, we’ve yet to see how TFD fares. Players are still in the honeymoon change. I don’t what people expected with episodes, because you’d be crazy to expect a complete overhaul when they had to delay the expansion just to improve Tfs. Glass is a washed out player, his team can’t even do well during day 1 raids. Brother is so jaded about d2 yet he can’t let it go, same with aztecross/sweatcicle. All of them just milking the community for engagement when new content drops then cycle back to rage baiting
True we need to see how TFD does this fall. I expect the game to do well until at least this December due to their road map. D2 youtubers are selling you a narrative to keep the train going. I will say though sweat circle isn't selling you a narrative he wants D3 he told us all that. Some other people however aren't bothered they just want cash.
Bruh they literally told us echoes will be super similar 😂. They had to focus on final shape, first descendant is not it. Never played warframe though so idk bout that game. More complaining complainers.
@@megatallica100 they never said echoes would be similar. Find me the quote and come back. They said episodes were new and innovative and different thats what they said.
These sad shallow soulless pathetic attempts to gain an increment of destiny’s yearly player retention will all be in vain, these games will be dead like the ones before them. Anyone who denies Destinies dominance over the genre is lying.
First descendant is pay to win trash. Don’t kid your Audience. Ya it’s gunplay is great, but story SUCKS and micro transactions are not MICRO they are *MASSIVE TRANSACTIONS*
TH-cam Video number 1678 that trys to explain, that Destiny is dying. I am so tepmted to make a collection from 10 years of "Destiny dead" videos. More than 5 videos only in this month again. Its like watching people running against a wall until they bleed.
@@coasterplay1062 its not dead though is it. My title reads 'our favourite game we all hate' Implying a love hate relationship with the game. Obviously this isn't all players but there's a lot of ppl like that.
@@Chablo91 That might be true but most of it is artificial drama because people have an unhealthy relationship with the game. They “love” the game when they play it and “hate” it on social media afterwards, that’s not normal. This excludes valuable necessary criticism of course. The amount of hysteria people create when talking about Destiny is unseen in all of gaming. Looking into the comment sections of Destiny related videos is like peeking into a mental institution.
This is obviously not your fault but why, for player numbers, do we only ever get steam statistics? That must surely be completely ignoring… what? A fifth? A third? A half? Two thirds of the actual statistics? 12%?? 300%?? F-k knows! Where are console stats ? Seeing only a portion of the stats and not even knowing what percentage that proportion is? It’s just useless to me and it should be utterly useless to devs, publishers and sellers. Microsoft and PlayStation obviously know numbers just as Steam does so why don’t we? “Here is a portion of the statistics, we can’t even tell you what portion it is, enjoy!” Get stuffed! What half-assed, backwards pageantry is that?
I did show you some console stats. Like most played PSN games in July etc. The reason is Sony and Xbox they don't want us snooping on graphs. Now why is that? I have no clue but the console graphs will be higher because its economics. Consoles are cheaper than PC therefore there are more of them. That includes PS4 and last gen since some ppl still haven't upgraded due to money world chaos.
@@Chablo91 Yes I didn’t say it well but I was referring to the issue you pointed out when you showed the console updates. No numbers for Xbox and only numbers in updates like top 50 charts while steam gives us a flow chart. Kudos to you too, by the way because just about everyone else including Generder Jake and Aztecross never show console info at all and Aztecross says “We don’t have the console numbers” but at least you showed the charts🫡👍
@@MrMightyZ let me aak you. Is D2 steam only? Or can it be played without steam. I dont know because i dont play D2 on PC. U do understand that Destiny is one of the few games in gaming history that survived 10years it has lot of content but remember First Descendant just came out we will talk in a year or 2 will the ppl still play that game anymore remember they will get bored once they reach endgame do think twice before u come with claims like the current game is no.1 it's new game only reason why ppl still play it simple ingot bored stopped playing it's overrated & boring

F destiny, after 4600 hrs of the game I've uninstalled it and it's pathetic, woke, gay soap opera drama. WF is simply woke personified and a player base that is the most toxic on the planet . TFD is a 2008 korean grind and pay game made with modern tools that the devs can't get to work rigth. So there is no good loot/shoots out there.. I'm going back to the original MW1/2.. At least they could get movement right.. TFD should probably take a few lessons from that.
I do agree that wokeness can ruin a story, I'm more interested on saint's character development this season more than his relationship with Osiris. But generalizing the game like this is honestly false. Tell me, before the season 18 ending, was it obvious to anyone who didn't follow or read lore cards that saint and Osiris where gay for each other? No, they weren't. Don't get me wrong, I don't think wokeness is good for ANY game, but it wasn't really obvious for destiny.
@@Noname-ol8ef there have been a LOT of hints and dialogues that that made it clear they were gay, even as far back as his introduction. Most people playing and paying attention, know this. Osiris skin tone slowly getting darker over time, the same with ikoras. Neomuna was a ode to a gay pride parade. The message has been there, and has grown to the point that most people can now see it as it's now in the dialogue. This is the slow boiling frog scenario, slowly they add things, ramp it up tills there in your face and you can not avoid it. This is when I stop playing, when you are forced to become part of it.
@@ianskinner1619 If it where clear, why is it that when the cutscene was actually revealed, there where a ton of people surprised as most of them thought their bond was "brother" like. Check the comments on that vid on bungie, a lot of people have said that or had the same reaction, and like I said, only people who have been following or dissecting the lore and story know this. If you compare saint and Osiris to other woke characters in other games, he sticks out as not even looking woke, as many other people also say. Also, the boiling frog analogy is even more inconsistent with Neonuma and lightfall overall as it has just become an outlier as the pale heart and TFS has a completely opposite tone, this was the case too with other seasonal stories where there was only an outlier of "wokeness" that is then followed up with other stories that have completely no relation to any form of woke. I suspect that next episode will be another shining example of this. Furthermore, pointing out skin tone of characters is an obvious nitpick that may not even be related to "wokeness" as certain cutscenes can just make them look more "blacker" than what they previously where.
Destiny 2 'Our Favourite Game We All Hate'
I have played all 3 games in my time so I can at least give some input on the matter. The numbers don't look good for Destiny 2 not until they release the new episode arc which can be played continuously, in one sitting unlike the first episode. TFD is an amazing game, makes me smile man love it. Warframe is also a great game but I believe people are waiting on soul frame to be honest.
Yah. I was cool with the space magic but it's becoming too woke
tfd is not really a better game your basicaly doing x4 time the grind to get worst destiny/warframe item, riskrunner is more interesting gun than most gun in tfd and riskrunner is lacking, most activity in tfd are so boring that it make me question what i my doing with my life, VOG a 10 years old activity has more meat and bone thant everything tfd has to offer no wonder why gaming suck now, tdf is just doing boring patrol and public event type mission no wonder why people start afk grind, the only reason people play it is because its f2p.
tfd has been out for not even a mounth and its number start going to meet destiny number and destiny is a old ass game.
Hearing Osiris and Saint rambling about their “relationship” like a couple of teenagers is so cringe. It’s brutal.

Your analysis seems to be without bias or influence sir. I appreciate the numbers you provided to support matters. You give the cold hard truth mate. It provides context and stimulates thought. I loved your flawless D2 vids and am enjoying your TFD vids as well sir. Keep it coming. Thanks.
They found a way to give you less for more money. This is the way.
You are my favorite Destiny 2 TH-cam creator. Strategic solos are so fun to watch. ❤ Liminality is gonna be awesome. 😊
Lol 😂
But seriously
Also the Episodes are just seasons.
I see both sides of destiny 3 debate but I ain’t dealing with all this slog slop nonsense again, I would bet a destiny 3 would have reskinned D1 & D2 stuff and that’s ridiculous.
Bungie has screwed it up. Great video, thank you for getting this out there.
D1,was my favourite interesting hard game. Kept me playing hopefully waiting for greatness again. Thanks for your content. Stay well all
These are pretty good numbers for Destiny 2.
@@Chablo91 TFD had a boring gameplay loop though. Just run around in circles.
Now we get 3 seasons instead of 4 😳🤦🏻♂️
Oh and First Descendant is quite fun 👍🏻

Honestly I’m just glad the final shape was able to be that good closure that I wanted. Was definitely my que to leave the game on a good note.
I hope with them dropping all the episode at once it will feel like a mini dlc, a new dungeon and raid would also rejuvenate my interest in the game
Good analysis mate . cant wait to see the liminality solo GM .
First Descendant targeted loot and Warframe systems make it an incredibly good looter imo
So you bought TFS only. Okay so what you gonna do about the dungeon key I suppose that can be bought seperate if you ended up wanting it right?
@@Chablo91 unsure if my D2 journey moves past this point.
I dont think it will even take a year to see a drop on The First Descendant
As with most fps shooters... Why do people expect mechanics from completely different genres to be added to destiny.
I havnt logged on for 2 weeks now I think. 1st time in over 11k hours.
I have zero interest, I recently bought the x/s version of GTA and I've been having really good fun.... even though I've played since day one it's just really nice looking and fun with the new look.
Leaving Destiny almost a year ago was the best decision made. Only will come back with a hard reset.
you didn't play the final shape?
Chablo91 out here delivering nuclear hard truths. Destiny 2 is fundamentally the same game as it was before TFS, just with way more powercreep.

You forget to mention that destiny is 10 years old.
How TFD will be in 10 years?

You earned a sub
Found out why joints ached and mind wasn't functioning...cholesterol meds! Zetia.
I can now play but finding I'd rather work outside during the summer.

Bungie need to be able to pivot and game the gameplay loop frequently (the gun play is very good, but we need more reasons to press the trigger)
hey brother!
i know many elite players enjoy the difficulty increase but average players do not. i. my opinion final shape is absolute garbage. it has been awful. i usually get up my power and then go and do endgame stuff or attempt raids and all. with the power caps i’m unable to do some content confidently.
steam says one thing but i’m telling you people are walking away they did when bungLe sunset weapons.
i have been following along with your first descendent stuff. i played the first few missions but i’m not really far along yet. i’ve also been playing the updated no man’s sky.
glad i did not buy final shape yet. lol still enjoy most part of the game
@@Chablo91 yeah it took me 45 tries to get a 20% drop rate for ultimate bunny lol
@@levismith3955 Its this part of the game that isnt good. Its a shame because the rest of the game is really good.
This is what bungie does everyone eats up the new expansion/content at first even though they know that the content will be drip fed to them
Welcome to the 'dessert of the real'
Easily would be imagine that it would rival Elden ring probably. In august they have to cook and tell as much as possible about frontiers
I fear that this analys won't age well ...
Its impossible to know the future right?
What is clear is that D2 itself is imploding. Whilst TFD isn't world breaking its the only other looter shooter apart from warframe. There are no good games tbh.
Why make 4 seasons when they'll pay for 3 seasons if u just change the name
@@joelledbetter2926 this is what ppl are saying. Thats one less season pass exotic as well. And tbf those have been good over the years. To get one less isn't good.
@Chablo91 this is par for the course ...sunsetting was apart of the we made it now let's make money philosophy change at bungie ..beyond light launch really showcased where we were heading ...easy to play game with over powered abilities and reissued weapons that were previously sunset and calling it new...there should of been a revolt a long time ago
To be honest, the Witness should of won.
How cool would of that been ha
TFD looks good but I dont want nexon warframe I just want a destiny 2 without the baggage
@@yol_n we all do mate. But its just not happening is it. Until 2025 until we find out actual future
Game should of stopped after the final shape, it was a great ending for D2, then give us D3
Borderlands 2. Always has been. Always will be.
Are they gonna make 4 though or what.
The graph for Destiny 2 hasn't changed at all in 4 years. Just expand the graph to "max" and you'll see.
Exactly destiny has had consistent numbers for far longer then most games would hope to achieve, this doomerism has gotten really old now.

This is obviously not your fault but why, for player numbers, do we only ever get steam statistics?
That must surely be completely ignoring… what?
A fifth?
A third?
A half?
Two thirds of the actual statistics?
12%??
300%??

I did show you some console stats. Like most played PSN games in July etc.
The reason is Sony and Xbox they don't want us snooping on graphs. Now why is that? I have no clue but the console graphs will be higher because its economics. Consoles are cheaper than PC therefore there are more of them. That includes PS4 and last gen since some ppl still haven't upgraded due to money world chaos.

Whoa soy boy whining about gay characters
top tier jerk
