thank you so much for this wonderful tip.... I have been a polymer clay artist for 5 years and have never thought about texturizing my extrusions.... This is definitely a tip that I will use for the rest of my clay years.... Thank you so much for sharing
I just found you last night and haven't stopped watching yet! Thanks for all the tips, keep 'em coming! Love your personality, you're a great tutor and so enjoyable to watch :-)
Oh wow, that's so sweet of you! I'm supposed to be working on two commissions, I have two video ideas to film and I have all my housework to catch up on... SO, I'm just off to get my hair cut. LOL xxx
I am in Ottawa Canada and discovered your channel a while ago. I have watched so many of your videos and I laugh out loud every time because you’re very funny. I love that everything doesn’t go perfectly and that you keep it real. You are a natural teacher and I have taken all kinds of notes from watching all of your videos. I’m very new to polymer clay having made two batches Diamond painting pens totalling 17. But now that I’ve been bingeing through your videos I’m ready to try some new techniques as I’m hoping to sell them. All this to say you are a TH-cam treasure and I look forward to each of your videos. Thank you. Cheers, Cathy the Canadian
Thanks so much for the encouragement! I think there is a definite benefit to having videos that include fun and imperfections, although people who do it properly are good too! Good luck with sales but don't let that aspect stress you out... Enjoy your creativity. xx
I've never seen this done before and I watch LOTS of PC videos! I think that you've pioneered something, so now you should name it... the Unruly Snakes? Unruly Roll? It's a wonderful idea! Rachel D
I just got the perfect pearl powders and this is the first tutorial on polymer clay I've seen using them! I'm so excited cause I was worried after buying them that they wouldn't work on polymer clay! Thanks so much!
Take it from me they are essential to polymer claying LOL! Check out my recent video about "simple card embellishments" for more Perfect Pearl action. :)
Hi Valerie! This was great! i never thought of using the extruded pieces like such, and you just gave me a whole lot to think of! This was great! I like how you comment about the weather. I would probably do the same thing here, from Vancouver, I hear we have similar weather issues!
I don't know if it's available in Europe but it may be. Meh ron body powder comes in silver, gold, bronze and rose gold. They are perfect for true metallic finishes. Think gold finger in the James Bond film. It's amazing. I use it to coat some of my larger work. After setting stones in place, I loosely brush the powder over the entire piece. It can also be used to mix into the clay or paint. Also: the video turned out perfectly. I think the camera automatically adjusts exposure according to the ambient light. The banded pieces you used also make beautiful surfaces on flatter coils which can be converted into rings or hoop earrings, etc. Thank you for sharing what you know with us!
I would love to watch you make a fairy castle or actually see how you make canes. I loved your tea Pot!! Also if you make creatures. Have you made a clay CAT? I would love to see that. I have enjoyed watching everyone all in a row. Hugs Kitty
Hi! I have just discovered your channel and I wish I'd done so sooner! I'm loving your tutorials and really looking forward to having a go myself. (Now I need to find some more time in the day for clay!)
Regarding your squeaky extruder, I purchased some gadgets from Lucy Clay and they included a little container of grease and instructions with their extruder. So I did it to my Maken's extruder also and it took away all the unwanted noise. The grease also makes the tool work far more easily and smoothly. If you have not purchased from LC I am sure any hardware store would have some kind of grease that would work. It was slightly translucent white and had the consistency of face cream. All you do is run a very small amount of grease along the crank shaft (the long cylindrical piece with threads on it). Now you can extrude away online without offense. Thank you for this video, I have purchased several molds for texturing PC "sausages" but have avoided using them so far because I could foresee the frustrations ahead with difficulties in removing and handling the soft PC and the damage it would do to the texture or the sausage. However, in this one video you have addressed all my questions on the topic. I truly appreciate your videos, and your sense of humor just slays me! Please continue on. Oh, and water on wood will eventually cause cracking and damage, might one of Teresa's round cane-benders work in the same capacity without the potential damage?
@@UnrulyHousewife Yes, I really hate the prices but I can always count on the quality of her products and they add to my efficiency. She really puts alot of thought into her products and really makes sure to include everything we will need to complete our projects within her kits. She is all out of her "color me hearts and color me owls" I waited too long to buy them and it doesn't look like she will ever get them back in again....whaaaa
love your videos too, being English. Do you remember where you got the texture sheets from? Not played with clays yet but stocking up on bits and bobs. thank you xx
In the description of this video I have put the names of the ones I used. They are both made by Lisa Pavelka and available on the website of the same name (.com). I imagine they'd be on Amazon too... Hope that helps! xx

Thanks! I normally do wear a mask (I usually point that out too) because the powder makes my nose get sore. I don't if I'm filming, because you'd never hear what I'm saying! LOL xx
Thanks for your videos but sometimes I can't make out what you are saying when you tell us what things are, such as the texture sheets in this video. I have replayed it but still can't make it out. I DO like what you do and the square exrtuded lengths are fab. I've thought of several ideas from that method. Thanks.

Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for commenting. xxx :D
That is gorgeous, it adds so much pizzazz to it rather than just being plain. Thanks so much for sharing your video with us.

Thank you! I will try that! Oh and yes the Cane Benders should work... Tiny Pandora products are so useful. xx

I will have to try this. Thanks. Please do a tutorial on how to make the fairy house you showed, it is so cool looking.
Very interesting. I don't have the cane bender. Never knew how to use them.
I would love to learn how to cut pieces of clay and place them over another clay surface to create a brush effect!
Thanks for sharing-Just found you-Gotta love polymer clay :)
Thanks! xx
Love that fairy jar Val, have you got a tutorial on this?
No but it's something I might do in the future. Thanks! xx
Great ideas, thanks for for sharing Val, blessings

I am struggling to remember but I think it was a Lisa Pavelka mat. Check out her web site, or try Amazon. xx
Thank you for the lovely tutorial. Please use a mask when you apply the pearl powders as. It is dangerous to breath in these powders.
