I bought one of these exact tools at a home show over 20 years ago, never used it. A couple of days ago I tried it on a small glass tile (incorrectly as I just found out), deemed it garbage and binned it. This video made me retrieve it and see that it was, in fact, the exact same tool. Now I'll give it a second chance. Thanks. :)
Was having a little trouble cutting strips kept breaking, WOW watched your instructions and worked perfectly ( when i was scoring i was holding the handle) held the end as shown and perfection thanks so much
silver k Look at the reply to the banclaster question. It explaines it well. I followed the advise and used a clamp and yardstick as guide. It worked nicely!
I have this tool that I purchased over a decade ago I might’ve used it once since then and now I do need it to cut a few pieces of tile. I knew not to throw it away because this day was coming.
This worked great for redoing the shower/bathtub of my kid's bathroom. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxfiuHoZJo3bgdVPFRxQ-iqPpfbEHl2cYt I didn't like the guide, so I took it off. I just used a fine tipped sharpie on the tile and followed that line. It does make a wet mess, and once I started looking like I wet myself I started wearing a towel and apron while cutting. The blade it came with worked great until we wore it out. It was better than the replacement one we bought. I tried looking for just their blade, but failed. Not really for larger tiles unless you stack stuff on either side to support the tiles. Anyway, would definitley buy again.
I got mine for a dollar at a scrap/craft recycle type store at my ex’s direction and never used it because it didn’t really seem like it would do much of anything- obviously I was totally wrong, tomorrow I’m gonna cut a mirror down to put it in a frame I’m hoping I can get a somewhat straight cut. I assume I need to peel the backing off before I crack it? In the off chance anyone is monitoring this, do they know the answer? It’s like a sticky film on the back of most mirrors you buy at the store and when you break a mirror it always sort of sticks together because of the backing, but I could see it reinforcing the strength of the underside and preventing it from cracking.
I have this tool and having trouble cutting thick porcelain floor tile in a straight line. I don't have a steady hand and can't stay on the mark. So, how do I cut exact straight lines? Will a straight edge work ok? If so, what thickness of edge?
+banclaster If you look at the scoring wheel at the top of the tool, you will see that it has a nut on one side and a flat side on the other. Use the flat side to run along a straight edge. by looking at the flat side you will be able to work out the size of straight edge needed for your project. thanks
Can I use this tool for tiles that are connected together with gauze sticky backing paper? That is, several tiles are held together to put up many on the wall at once.
How well does this work at cutting out electrical outlets in glass tiles? I can’t find anything that won’t crack the glass when I’m half way done with my cuts
I need help or advice. I had my shower tile installed. A shower cubby was installed with it. The caddy slants down to let the water drain. The installer tiled above the slant not letting the water drain. Can I use these to snip the edge of the tile that exceeds the edge of the cubby? Or do you think regular tile snips would work? Thanks!
Um but can you do an L shape cut with your tool sir? Usefull for 3×6 ceramic tiles in brick pattern but cant really use it for nothing else from there ..liked the video good advices 👌
I miss one detail. How do you make a true straight cut with this tool. not everyone is able to cut straight even on a straight line. will it work with a guide bar like we do with a circular saw?
I'm late here but in case anyone stops by and sees this, you can score across with a metal L ruler but you need to make sure that the blade is on what you want to cut the whole time
Haven't got the cutter after paying for it around 45 days. I was promised that it would be delivered within 14 days. Need to know if I am going to receive it or can I have my money back?
+Rowena Pires Hi Rowena, I have just noticed your comment, can you send me your info so I can find out whats going on with this order. Our Email address is ukofice@amazingproducts.co.uk
Am I right in assuming that if you want to cut in “L” cut in a tile (say for an electrical outlet) that you would just cut in L...but instead of a square/sharp corner, you would have a small radius?
I cut stained glass. Very expensive glass. It's not hardy and smooth, it's delicate and has it's own bumps and lines from being fired. That's why you won't see anyone ripping through colored glass, it's unpredictable and perfect. BUT I LOVE THIS PRODUCT FOR MY TILE PROJECTS!
Trying to buy this tool is impossible, i go on to your site and get amazing products from amazon, amazing fudge for the hair and all sorts of diverting products, but where can I buy this particular tool please? I go on to your site then !!!!!!!!!!!! beryl perhaps you dont want to sell it!! I cant believe that.
I this tool from England to use it on 4" mexican terra cotta tiles that are glazed on the top. I couldn't make it work. Broke a few tiles while trying. I thought maybe I wasn't strong enough to score, or maybe it doesn't work on the glazed surface, or ???? other ideas? I'd love to get this to work. Thanks.
+Marcia Kislik Don't be scared to lean on the cutter to get a good score, when squeezing to break put one leg of the tool on the table and lean down on it as you squeeze it. This is how we do it as the thick terra cotta tiles take a bit of strength if squeezing all day long.

Was having a little trouble cutting strips kept breaking, WOW watched your instructions and worked perfectly ( when i was scoring i was holding the handle) held the end as shown and perfection thanks so much
Omg, me too! And pressing on that plate piece to score! And….it won’t damage the blade hitting wood 😳 Knowledge is power!
What is the oil thats used?
You explained it very well. Straight to the point.
I don’t know how I came across this video but I just bought this thing. I’m going to buy some tiles now just to cut them. This looks soooo awesome

Great product. Great teaching skills. But what kind of guides should we use to make straight lines?

What would it cost to send all my tiles to you so you can cut them and ship them back?
Wow! I'm inspired by this excellent tradesman & this tool. Cheers!

I think you are an Amazing teacher too!! I’m definitely getting this tool. Do you guys ship to the US? Or sell on Amazon US?
Whoever invented the cutter is a genius
How often do blades have to be replaces? Very exciting for mosaics!!
How do you cut a square hole in the middle of the tile?
With a grinder. Lol
I love it...I will be using mine today for the first time opposed to a wet saw....I wanted to try the old fashioned way...sort to speak.
Will the amazing cutter cut notches
Very hard to use with a guide or get a straight line or specific measurement.
Amazing tutorial about an amazing tool. I wish I had seen this earlier!!!
