Fyi Nigeria red palm oil is not harmful to the environment. It is not the same as the palm oil that is mass produced & extracted from the Amazon which destroys the forest and kill wild life. In Nigeria plam oil is part of our community, tradition & customs and absolutely no deforestation takes place because it's cultivated in villages by local farmers and no animals are ever harmed in any capacity. Nigerian red palm oil is very good for the skin as it has a lots of health benefits. It's pure, unrefined oil from the African palm nut.
Ah! As soon as I saw the red palm oil as a guess I thought that must be it! I have a jar on my kitchen counter and it colors all my baked goods that I use it in that lovely shade. I'm sure it feels as wonderful as it looks.
I used 10%. So I didn't use it with a washcloth so I don't know. What I can say about when I used it with a sponge, the lather had a very very light yellow tint to it but everything rinsed off very well and there were no stains left behind. My answer us, no I don't think it'll stain a washcloth if it's rinsed out.
Yes you can, once oils are turned to soap they are perfectly fine to use on the face. In fact, a natural soap like this is best for keeping acne away. I know this because my skin is so much better than it was a few years ago when I never used natural soaps. So yes is the answer. I use my soaps (especially the fragrance free ones) on my face 😊
No problem. I use 1.5% Citric Acid. For your lye water I recommend you use this website to formulate your recipe and it'll give you the amount of lye and water to use. Soapcalc.net
For whatever amount of soap you're making, make sure your recipe contains no more than 10% of red palm oil because any more and the colour might stain. The soap mold I used in this video is a really small 1 pound soap mold.
@CreamySuds thank you, I am wired different when I figure out math. I don't understand 10% when I am using grams . If all my oils at 300g what would 10% in gm of palm oil
I used red palm oil at 10% and wouldn't go higher. I would substitute 10% coconut oil for red palm oil. So make Coconut Oil 20% and red Palm Oil10%. . hope this is helpful. let me know if you have any further questions 😊
Well that's very accusatory and entitled of you don't you think? You may refer to this video for a beginner recipe. th-cam.com/video/dcs3rdSmR-g/w-d-xo.html You're welcome.

What percentage of red palm oil did you use to achieve this color please? Additionally, does that concentration stain a wash cloth? Thanks
