Samson Rope: 8-Strand Class 1 Eye Splice

- Samson recommends splicing as the preferred rope termination method. Knots can significantly decrease a ropes strength while, in most cases, splicing maintains 100% of the specified rope strength. Splice terminations are used in all our ropes to determine new and unused tensile strengths.

If we do a rope-to-chain slice without an eye, but by cris-crossing the strand pairs with the chain (similar to how it's done with the samson's 3-strand rope-to-chain instruction pdf), will this change the order of the marked/"grey" strands tucking underneath the non marked/"white" strands somehow?

Thank you for the feedback! For an 8-Strand to chain we would just use an 8-Strand Class 1 splice and make the eye as small as possible to hold a chain link.
Or thimble on the rope, then a shackle then chain?
