I have been driving for Lyft and Uber since Jan2024, and see this type of reckless driving every single day. I drove by this accident while fire department arrived. Criminal charges should be brought against the Mercedes driver. When will the city do something about this?
@@Mike__B Yea, was a field service engineer and had to travel all over the state. The saying the nail that sticks out will always take the hit is correct. You drive at the speed of traffic, if you are to fast or too slow you are a problem. Get into the lane you need a mile before you need it also helps avoid many of these issues as well.

I'm told that they have forced out many of the union people who took pride in their work and cheaper, less qualified employees program the video, graphics, and chyrons into a computer program and the director just presses the spacebar for every change that takes place on the screen, almost like a PowerPoint. I'm not sure what the big deal is, this happens on the L.A. freeways 24/7. Every couple of minutes someone flies past you at 100+ mph. And then the CHP pulls you over because he thinks he saw you using a cellphone. WTF?
Changing a tire is so dangerous on a LA freeway. Continuing to the next exit on the shoulder might permanently damage your tire but it might save your life. I’ve noticed that worn tires are lot more susceptible to flats. Things that can puncture tires tend to end up at the side of the road. So taking corners tightly puts your tires in contact with more of it and a flat is more likely.

Things happen for a reason. Unfortunately that SUV got the force of the crash and a totalled car they may not be able to afford to replace but he definitely saved that other person from being killed and thankfully he himself did not suffer life changing injuries.
The blue car was going to pass that dump truck on the right and the white suv slowed down due to a car on the shoulder and the blue car was going so fast iit couldn't slow down and caused that mess..

You hit a nail on the head that nobody is considering, they are assuming the people on the roads all have a license yet the roads are infact filling up with unlicensed drivers, many of which never even opened a drivers handbook, and police have given up dealing with them since if they take away the cars those behind the wheel are behind the wheel with a another one the next day and they never pay the tickets so find it easier to wait till they kill someone so they have a reason to lock them up where they can't be back on the street before the ink dries and then a judge can then keep them behind bars till after the trial, and possible deportation.
It's extremely rare to see CHP on the freeways nowadays... only to clean up an accident or camped out when worthless CalTrans is tearing up the roads otherwise its a free for all on the roads.

Speed isn't necessarily the problem. The way you drive is the problem. The faster you drive the. Ore space you need in front of you to stop. And if you're constantly shifting lanes, you need to slow down and still keep 4-6 seconds stopping distance behind people. And you shouldn't be driving faster from the people around you.
When you attempt a lane change behind a vehicle that you can’t see all the way around, you get what you have coming to you. The cat changing a tire in the emergency lane wasn’t too bright either. Stay safe and call for some additional roadside protection with emergency lights or a complete tow to a safe area.

This happened yesterday I was on the freeway when this happened. I was shocked to see everyone was okay. It could of been worse that car was driving really fast and weaving through traffic.
Amusing. The guy being interviewed believes the Mercedes driver would do things differently if possible. Two problems here. 1: There aren't any " do-overs " in the real world. 2: There is no reason to believe the Mercedes driver would do anything differently, he had that opportunity the first time around. I was going to say the same. Also add on muscle/sports cars or any car that has been converted to look like a sports car. Any time I see any of these cars nearby, I pay extra special attention.
I usually go between 90-100 daily because I mainly drive late at night, but if I drive during the day, I'm always perplexed when drivers do this in medium and heavy traffic.
This is a typical day on my expressway. It is not just the speeding, which is dangerous enough, but constant sudden lane changes when the whim strikes.

This happened yesterday I was on the freeway when this happened. I was shocked to see everyone was okay. It could of been worse that car was driving really fast and weaving through traffic.
Figures, either a Mercedes or BMW causing chaos.
Amusing. The guy being interviewed believes the Mercedes driver would do things differently if possible. Two problems here. 1: There aren't any " do-overs " in the real world. 2: There is no reason to believe the Mercedes driver would do anything differently, he had that opportunity the first time around. Distracted and/ or selfish driving is an every day occurrence across the U.S. This isn't mere coincidence, it's caused by self absorbed ass clowns.

There are constantly Mercedes and BMW's driving like this here. They weave in and out with no signals with their Soviet Block driving techniques and their I'm-better-than-you mindsets and risk everybody's safety. I'm tired of it.

The guy changing his tire underneath the bridge and being so close to the road is what caused the accident. Not only endangering his life but also the drivers passing by

I was going to say the same. Also add on muscle/sports cars or any car that has been converted to look like a sports car. Any time I see any of these cars nearby, I pay extra special attention.

That sedan was driving crazy. Dead space to right side of truck, and still weaving in and out. So dumb.
I usually go between 90-100 daily because I mainly drive late at night, but if I drive during the day, I'm always perplexed when drivers do this in medium and heavy traffic.
This is a typical day on my expressway. It is not just the speeding, which is dangerous enough, but constant sudden lane changes when the whim strikes.
That was just reckless driving by the Merc driver. These people are out there, no consideration or respect for anyone else on the road. Veteran Highway cop.
SUV should sue the crap out of that Mercedes driver!
I guarantee the person in the Mercedes regrets nothing. People like that think they own the road. Same as Tesla drivers.
The mercedes driver proves that speed may not kill, but it sure phucks up your day totally.

Accountability is required big time
That is what the ‘Fast Lane’ is for. - Thru traffic. ‘This driver was reckless, & Just didn’t care’. - I doubt if they’ll be any consequences. That’s why the district attorney(s) should be arrested and charged. We need a new sheriff in town.
