She may have been vague, but they still ignored the stuff she WAS specific about. She said no cages, and the animal wrangler ignored her and brought cages. She said browns and greens, and the interior designer ignored her and put what HE liked. She said open floor plan and no walls, he built an actual hospital. That part was the contractor’s fault. She could’ve been more specific with details, but they probably would’ve ignored her anyways since they ignored the few requirements she gave to them.
there's also the element that it's kind of their job to get the specifics. like i'm learning to be a programmer, one of the lessons we keep getting is that we need to figure out what the job giver wants. they will be vague, and they will change their mind and contradict themselves. she may have been vague, but it's literally their job to clear any vagueness up. so yea, imo it is completely the contractors fault.
If I had to make a guess, I would assume that Fluttershy's job is about rehabilitation. The veterinarian takes care of the illnesses and injuries of the animals brought to her, and then Fluttershy takes them in and handles the ongoing care until they're ready to be released back to the wild.
I don't understand the running joke "What does Fluttershy even do" It was explained in the first seasons. She runs an animal shelter. RD adopted Tank from her. She also grooms and does minor veterinary work for animals her shelter adopt out (like the better shelters do)
Yeah, I figured she was animal grooming and boarding. She might get a government paycheck for her work taking care of wildlife. Thing is, unlike most of the Main 6, this is all conjecture. AJ and Rarity's sources of income have been clearly stated. Pinkie and RD's have been heavily implied (living/working with the Cakes plus party organizing for Pinkie and head of the local weather team for RD). Twilight's is a little less clear, she was a student at the beginning of the series (and I'm sure Celestia wouldn't let her personal student starve) and then became a princess. Does she get an income simply by virtue of being magically ascended royalty? That has been a historical pattern, so it's extremely likely. But then there's Fluttershy. She takes care of animals. Mostly wild animals. So no owners to pay boarding or grooming fees. Seeing her work with known pets is much less frequent than everyone else's work. So it's not that unreasonable to wonder how exactly she earns a living.
@@brigidtheirish The thing is, as soon as Rainbow Dash went to Fluttershy for a pet, it became rather obvious (to me at least) that Flutters ran a shelter. After all, no animal outside mythical beast are really "Wild". Season one established that even normally dangerous animals have been domesticated in Equestria. It makes sense ponies would be encouraged to take in what we consider exotic pets but are actually common place for them. That isn't headcanon either. Flutters was shown trying to convince Dash to take in truly bizarre animals as pets. I think she runs a state funded animal shelter and she grooms, gives minor treatment, and answers questions owners have for their pets. The more dedicated animals shelters actually do this in the real world for pets that were adopted from them (like the one I got my cat from). About the only headcanon part of this is that I speculate the shelter is state funded. The rest is heavily impled in various episodes. Just like Pinkie's parties are a second job or Twilight received a research stipend as Celestia's apprentice.
@@ColtKitProductions Or the animal shelter/adoption thing is secondary to her job as a rough equivalent to a park ranger. Or... actually, just take a look though the comments. There are a *lot* of theories. And that's the thing. Everyone else has pretty solidly established jobs or a clearly spelled out implication of a job. Fluttershy has a whole *category* of possible jobs.
Her animals friends bring her shiny rocks for which they have no use. Celestia pays her a stipend every two weeks there are no Discord Incidents. Discord discreetly slips a pile of bits or gems in because he knows Fluttershy wouldn't accept it otherwise. She also gets paid for odd jobs, like when she modelled for Rarity, or simply for being cute and going to the right places. You can't tell me she didn't attract more patrons into the casino when she went to Los Pegasus. And even though she needn't work a day in her life with all these hook-ups, she ran a shelter way before her animal sanctuary. And she has chickens, so baking's also an option. Just because Fluttershy doesn't show off her wealth or strength doesn't mean she's not necessarily one of the richest or strongest of the Mane6.
@@BNutsI like this idea. She does seem to be living quite comfortably. And given the rustic, eclectic look she has in her home, it's likely a lot of her furnishings were gifts from her animal friends or picked up over many years at flea markets and thrift stores. Basically, she's creative and frugal.
I don't really see the vagueness on Fluttershy's end. "I want the sanctuary to have an open floor plan. No walls. More like an enclosure that melts into the trees. With a gate in the back". Open Floor, no walls, gate in the back. "I appreciate your input, but I just know the animals would be happiest with dirt brown pillows and leaf green accents." A pillow that is dirt brown and has leaf green accents. "This is the perfect base for a little nest. I'll take a bunch of these and anything else the animals can burrow into." Give me baskets and anything they can use to burrow. She even had a drawing and everything that looked to display her vision pretty well. Like AJ's Vision Board in that Equestria Girls Episode. Honestly if they saw that and didn't think they could do it they should have said no in the first place. So to me they are to fault.
AkumaTh Plus they twisted her words to their methods aka bull$&@& her. I am never hiring these @$$holes JUST for that, since anyone who does that can’t be trusted with ANYONE ELSE’S vision.
Base Anonymous. I don’t villainize the contractors for being thrown into jobs they weren’t qualified to handle. That I understand. I villainize them for twisting Flutters’ instructions and bull$&@&ting her. Say what you will about these guys, but I would never trust them after that.
@Base Anonymous. The problem is we see that's not the case at least in Hard Hat's case (can't remember the other two off hand). He say's to Fluttershy after she explains what she wants "I'll see what we can do" then behind her back to his employee's "I know she thinks she know's what's best but once she see's how much better this will be she'll thank us." He is given clear instructions on what Fluttershy wants to do then rather than trying to convince her to change her mind or saying he can't do it he lies to the person he's working for then sets out to do it his way behind their back.
But... How was she vague? She even made a draw! And if someone ask you to do something, and you don't totally understand it, you ASK HER FOR DETAILS, NO DO WHATEVER YOU WANT
I took a millwork and carpentry course for a year, and one thing that was drilled into our head was if we don't know what we're doing, or don't understand a design, we should always ask and check in with a foreman...but since those ponies are "Experts" in their field, they don't believe that they are doing anything wrong...though the one in charge of the designing definitely should've checked in with fluttershy...and the cages, really now..at least an indoor large holding pen with grass would've been better than a cage...
I have a theory on what job fluttershy has. She is a park ranger. Think about it, a lot of the animals that she takes care of are the animals found in the ever free forest, she lives near the forest like most park rangers live in their respected parks, and even though the comics are not cannot, I have to mention this, in one of the comics she is wearing a park rangers uniform.
She takes of of the animals. In Zecora's introduction episode when they lited the things about about the Everfree forest one they said it was unnatural because the plants grow, the clouds move and the animals care for themselves all on their own. That means the ponies are literally responsible for everything in nature, whether it be growing the fauna raising the sun, the wheather and of course TAKING CARE OF ALL THE ANIMALS! Fluttershy didn't count bunnies in season one because it was fun ( though that probably helped) but because it was her job!
Just as an FYI, where Fluttershy gets her money from, while never directly stated, is heavily implied. She is running a government service, much like the weather service. Remember how they described the Everfree forest. It was a no ponies land because the weather and animals took care of themselves, and were not controlled. That implies that what Fluttershy does is not only a community/government service, but is not limited in any way to Ponyville. Every single civilized area has someone to help take care of the animals, with other members of the community helping to pitch in at times of great change like winter wrap up. But maybe I am taking these details too seriously.
I was thinking that Fluttershy wanted a big glass area with a bunch of smaller buildings to help animals, with no doors, so they can go and leave as they please.
I think Fluttershy might be a professional songbird-choir director/conductor. She’s seen at many events organizing something like this (especially the first episode), and there are likely few ponies with her ability to train and bond with animals like her. (It also helps that she’s the only one seen to organize this, and Twilight had the songbird choir on her checklist for the summer-sun celebration. So it check’s our that this is official) Since Equestria has so many celebrations, she probably gets highly or decently paid for her rare talents. Add that all together, and she gets a stable income that can last for a looooong time. That may also include the extra money needed to feed her animals.
@MegaAnimazing (looks around and doesn't see VoiceofReason anywhere, given how overprotective of Sega he can be at times) Okay, looks like we're all clear.
Don’t you worry, Sega! I, a fellow cat, shall protect you! Wait, but then Josh would get mad at me for crushing his troops. Even though they get slammed daily anyway for being incompetent... Never mind, these dummies are getting slaughtered whether I help you or not.
Judging from what I've seen from this episode I think that it's implied that Fluttershy is a conservationist. The equestrian version of the Department of Natural Resources.
And she gets bonuses for being cute. C'mon, look at her and tell me you _wouldn't_ throw money at her for a smile or a hug. The only point where she's shown she has any financial difficulties at all was in 'Putting Her Hoof Down,' but she's friends with a Unicorn who can magically find gems (and an Alicorn who has copied said spell). Not to mention all the animal friends, some of whom probably bring Fluttershy gifts of shiny rocks for which they have no use. Heck, if the animals are digging up gold and gems for Fluttershy, she never _has_ to work a day in her life. Doesn't mean she doesn't, though. Which reminds me: you think Celestia pays her a stipend for keeping Discord in line, or for not convincing Discord to go nuts on Equestria? Because he likes her enough that if she ever asked him to do anything for her, he would. Which means _he_ could be supplying her with money. Fluttershy probably has to hide her wealth from the others so they don't resent her since they have to work hard to earn it, and she gets it just by being friends with the right beings. It's like how she rarely shows her physical strength, but give her a reason to nail a coffee table to a ceiling and she hasn't got a problem doing so.
@@BNuts I kind of thought she ran the local animal shelter... What with all the animals hanging around her house and that one episode where Rainbowdash came to her looking for a pet to adopt...
"Ok, I can't resist." Wait what do you-- *Sees the clip* OH FOR THE LOVE OF *yay*! NOTE: This is not to be taken seriously. It just hilariously caught me off guard.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS FINALLY A CAT PONY!!! I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR LITTARLY SINCE THE START OF THE SHOWS FAN DOM FOR IT!!!!!!! And show. Plz hasbro Give us a cat pony! !!! Also her eyes! !!♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
If the guards don't calm down within 72 hours, I suggest letting Aramau "lecture" them on why they shouldn't get her mad. Because, Aramau, if you get a cat, the first thing the guards will do upon spotting it will be to turn it into ground beef. And I say that lightly. So if you ever want a cat, deal with the guards first and foremost. Either that, or get Firebrand to go Dr. OCKTOBERFEST on their flanks.
Derp Francis I show up at the base with my Abyssinian OC. Guards go into murder rage. Casually pulls a gun out of my jacket and shoots one. Everypony scatters.
@@TheGamerboy1103 I think you're mistaking a heartfelt lecture for the style the Soldier from Team Fortress 2 takes when addressing those under him. Or you could say Firebrand
Ok... when I saw the animal friend thing. I thought he meant they get her food. Not they are food. And no, if they help, they get berrys, nuts, those kinds of things. Maybe she's paid a ton of bits during winter wrap up. She did used to wake, EVERY SINGLE AMIMAL!!!?
I say just get Doc and Finn to build him a cloning machine. Then the only guard force he has to monitor is of himself. Of course, even just one of him is far too much work for Aramau.
*Drinking FireBrand's cinnamon cider while looking at Ari's notes* And all I did was tell them it was Twilight's birthday. It's like they just fade away.
1:57 Technically, Angel isn’t the only bunny that needs bunny foot braces. There are many other bunnies Fluttershy looks after while watching over the other critters.
2:35 OBJECTION!!! During the Annual Running of the Leaves, Pinkie mentions hot dog-eating contests and we've seen rarity preparing eggs and ponies cooking with eggs! Therefore Equestrians are omnivores!
It's sad that even fictional characters in a fictional animal caretaker can take better care of animals then the ones that we have in reality Peta is the perfect prime example of what not to do if your animal caretaker
6:32 she was clear. She clearly said what she wanted. And thought the ponys would have both the common sense and common decency to either obey or ask what she means 4:58 NO DONT CALL PETA! THEY WILL KILL THE ANIMAL NOT SAVE IT
you know, i never really got why people were so upset that the mane six outsourced the jobs, claiming that they already have the same skillset as the ponies they hired. yes, the mane six have a SIMILAR skillset to that of the ponies the hired, but at least to me that's really just like saying a mechanic can fix a train/ship/plane because he knows how to fix a car, or that a vet can operate on a human and vice versa because they are both doctors. just because the jobs are similar doesn't mean you don't need extra or specialized knowledge you wouldn't just get out of nowhere to pull it of successfully. i mean, i guess if they really try their hardest, they can pull it of to some degree, but considering this wasn't just some half-assed attempt just for the heck of it but aimed to be the fulfillment of a lifelong dream, i think it's a good thing they hired professionals to do the job. now if they only listened to her or tried to get her opinions on the parts they weren't sure of.
Fluttershy's job is selling pets and pet stuff to the citizens of Ponyville, and helping them solve any conflicts with local wildlife. She uses the money from that to fund being a Wildlife Rehabilitation Specialist. However, she is aware that the Veterinarian has more training than herself with certain injuries and illnesses, and has more supplies and more reliable funding. So she directs the animals to her for their more serious injuries, only they misinterpret this as the Vet being another Fluttershy, and stay longer than they should. Hence, how this episode happened in the first place.
Headcannon: Fluttershy has a trust fund. That is why she can focus so much on the animals, and she usually has the funds to do what she needs, even if it isn't too much for anything else. It isn't hard to see how the shyest pony is the one that would have been doted too much by rich loving parents.
Hey Firebrand, maybe Fluttershy's job is a animal control worker who helps to ensure the proper treatment for animals, the mistreatment of animals, and to locate abandoned animals. The traits match what she does in the show so maybe this could her job. Just a thought and research.
I finally got to a Taking it Too Seriously episode when it uploaded! Okay time to do my usual commenting as I watch! @ 2:14 - yeah what does Fluttershy do? Is she an overglorified pet sitter? Or is she a what one might call a freelance veterinarian. But that doesn't really exist. So what dies she do? @ 4:39 - Oh you are refenci g that commercial. The one commercial Iliza Shlesinger "moked" in her stand up comedy entitled War Paint. That commercial which causes me to cry every season. That commercial. @ 7:04 - I think everyone is tired of the lack of communication moral that MLP throws at us at least once every season. @ 8:31 - Yes I agree, I completely agree. @ 11:00 - Josh! I'm still hurting! I wont have my Loki anymore! @ the last bits of the episode - This was an excellent episode and I loved every bit of it. I love hearing your opinions and criticism for each episode. It's always a joy to watch one of these.
2:12 You wanna know what Fluttershy does for a living? Nothing. she does absolutely nothing, that can be considered an ACTUAL job. her care for the animals, is just her, using her vast amounts of free time for charitable environmental aide to the local wild life. she's not getting paid, she's not providing any wild life field reports like park rangers or some other environmentalist. This mare literal lives off the land, and has bits coming from her parents. (We've all seen her parents, it's not totally out of the question that they give her annual 'allowances') Also, 3:58 Yes Sega. this would also explain how Fluttershy is able to get bye (if the 'parents send her $ theory isn't viable'). probably also explains why Fluttershy is so hard on her brother, so he wouldn't end up like her.
and until the show literally looks right at the camera, directly looking us the audience in the face, and out right says and explains what Fluttershy actually does for an ACTUAL JOB!!!!!! i will not change my perspective on her being a jobless mare living off the land & well-fare.
10:23 just because Fluttershy came up with the Animal Sanctuary, doesn't mean she's a land lord looking after a government site. actual Sanctuaries are paid by the government, or what ever company owns them. so really this Sanctuary is just a glorified park meant just for wild animals to drop bye, rest & eat, then leave when they feel like it. as for how they made it. Applejack supplied all the wood and tools, so that's supplies directly coming out of her supply stores. for maintenance, there's like only 5 or 10% actual structure work, so there's not a lot that needs to be fixed. the natural design does its own maintenance by nature itself. as for cleaning.....rain.....that's all.
1:09 Dammit! Who started playing a game of Jumanji? Also, I can appreciate that this was an important demonstration of character growth for Fluttershy, but that doesn't stop me from wishing the episode was more entertaining.
What a coincidence that I just go to a college Animal Science class to become a Vet Technician and then you two guys review the episode. It was alright for me, not good, not bad. Honestly, I see Fluttershy as a Vet assistant, because she does provide animals food, shelter and sometimes training.
11:00 - 11:23 *Firebrand...* if *Lunacorva* saw this and read the comments of how it was to soon to make a joke after the MCU fans were still recouping from Infinity War...? He would be very proud of you. *Anime single tear*
I relate to this a lot My folks and I recently moved to a new city and Dad decided to look for the cheapest option in terms of movers and packers. End result, two boxes getting lost and instead of putting our two cars in containers, both were driven. But only one turned up because the moron driving the other car decided to take it for a f***ing joyride to different cities. We finally got it back after two weeks and the car was damaged
Tungsten-Tritium-Fluorine!? I think Ms. Harshwhinny wants a word with them: "Professionalism". And Seabreeze wants two words with them: "Siripat sulat!"
I wish this episode was just her going to ask Big Daddy McColt and everything that could go wrong with the trip does go wrong, the message would have still worked and flutters wouldn't come out looking like witch.
"Fluttershy Leans In" is a really, really strange episode. It had been established way back in the first season that Fluttershy was in charge of the animal care-taking responsibilities of Ponyville, just like Rainbow Dash was in charge of all the local weather teams. They had government jobs. Why did the writers forget both of those things in later seasons?
Okay, I'm gonna say it, when the part where angel bunny hurt his foot, Fire Brand should've used the Starscream reference of the "OW MY FOOT" from the 1986 Transformers movie, which would've been so funny
Nice doing something with SEGASister, her boyfriend, voiceofreason would be so proud. (Did I spell his name right?) P.S. Rainbow dash may take on a few jobs, but she's also a wonderbolt. P.P.S. I think that pony rangler might be a bay guy in some fanfiction stories, I can write some.
Now that i think about it she might be selling the animals to give them new homes instead of having them stay with her. Just like she did with RD but didn't get payed for it because she's her friend.
Fluttershy money theory: she lives off the gold/gems from the dragon cave in Dragon Shy. We never see the dragon take his loot, and I like to think that offscreen he told Fluttershy that she could take care of it for him and use what she needed
i'm having a weird feeling that they might reveal what she does in season 9, but most likely won't sinc it's the last season. it's a shame that the series is ending, but it was a good run. i mean going from originally 3 seasons to now 9 seasons i'm impressed that they managed to make it last this long and not feel repetetive.
Could you do a review of A Health of Information? It's one of my favorite episodes of MLP overall. There's some good character development, another awesome legend, some AMAZING world building (including a new disease that could use some speculation and/or theorizing on, including exactly what type of disease this is, although a doctor would probably know more about that stuff), and an amazing, determined side of Fluttershy that we haven't really seen in the show prior to this episode. This comment probably won't be seen, but hey, I just wanted to give a recommendation. Have a wonderful day/night! ❤
I always thought that Fluttershy made a living threw animal and pet consultation, like she would help someone when they were having issues with their pet. Like the dog whisperer but universal.
consider: her land could be a wildlife sanctuary. she is paid by the state and/or donations to look after endangers or injured animals that cant go back to the wild, at least not yet. in the humqn world, vets treat really ill or hurt animals, but sanctuarys will rehabilitate them. some can even help with small injuries that are common. idk just a thought
On the topic of Flutter Shy's job, I think she's a wildlife carer. My sister did that for a while, but in this world it doesn't pay well so she had to stop. But what my sister and I would do is receive injured birds and take care of them. We'd feed them, clean them, and rehabilitate them along with frequent vet visits to check that nothing was going wrong. We'd bind broken wings to mend, raise babies who's parents had been killed or simply keep a concused tawny until it could feed itself. One time we even got a rescue bird who'd been kept in terrible conditions and need to learn how to walk again before he could be sold off to a better home. I think this is what she does. We don't see her visiting the vet, but all she seems to do is keep them safe while the heal or grow old enough to survive alone. Sure she keeps some, heck, we did that! We had a lorikeet who we never managed to rehabilitate, and we knew he'd die if we sent him to the wild. He was too young when we got him, and we had to handle him too much, he became domestic. She seems to exactly this, and that's probably how she got Angel, but in this world they actually get paid to rehabilitate wild animals. She's like a vet, but instead of fixing one problem, she cares for the whole animal during the time between rescue and release. Just my headcannon that I thought you might like to think about.
Fluttershy wasn't in any way vague regarding what she wanted. She may not have been very organised in her thinking, but there was A CLEAR vision she was aiming towards. Open floor. Natural colour scheme. No cages. I mean....how specific did you expect her to be? Also....I just kinda assumed a lotta stuff was free in Equestria. I mean, it's a world where everyone's destined to do the thing they love doing so....yeah. I just figured capitalism was only for luxury stuff.
This was a "HEY AUDIENCE, PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT WE DID!" episode. They go out of their way to make minor characters look bad to demonstrate how much Fluttershy has improved. These characters are all experienced at being commisioned, they would know the extremely important rule that the customer's vision comes first. This episode was a way of forcing us to notice a detail and instead allowing us to.
Don't forget that these minor ponies jobs just doesn't fit into the role Fluttershy wants them to be. A landscaper would've worked better than a construction worker. A garden designer would've worked better than a interior designer.
I think Fluttershy is an animal rescue, where she gets donations and ponies seem to love animals... so if that the case I’m not surprised that she doesn’t run out of money for her animals food
I figure Flutters also still gets some image rights money from her brief modeling career back in season one. She did official modeling shoots back in Green Isn't Your color, she was super popular for a time and so those photos probably still get used for magazines and posters from time to time
Well...I wasn't disappointed, you DID take this episode Too Seriously, like WOW! this is honestly the craziest Review I've ever seen come out of you XP
My personal headcanon is that during Fluttershy's brief time as a model her image made a product so successful that they continue to pay her for her image.
i think fluttershys job is animal care, where she takes care of pets that come in with some kind of injury or sickness, gets them back to health and sends them back home, and a small amount of government support to care for wild animals
To the question on what Fluttershy does for a living: She's a ranger. She lives the closest to the Everfree forest without living in it (*cough cough* Zecora *cough cough*), deals almost exclusively in wild animals without the intention of turning them into pets, and is the one most turn to for problems with strange creatures (see the Manitcore or Tank). She's paid to tend to the animals with a rent-free cottage, and supplies for the care and welfare of the animals. This also covers her being the brave one in her family; she left the comfort and familiarity of Cloudsdale, which she would probably get a similar job to what her father had (cuz nepotism) that paid well, for the unknown. This is why Celestia had no real problem with her having taken Philomena, and why she trusted her to help reform Discord. Fluttershy knows how to deal with exotic wild animals because it's her job to record and tend to them. Or maybe I'm taking it too seriously *ba dum chhhh*
okay wow. why i am crying at this part of the ep for and the video was fun to watch. and how do the Pony's make there Gold ? the Tom and Jerry ending was so funny. thank you.
Fun fact: as IDW was just beginning to tie its latest comics into the show's canon with the "From the Shadows" three-parter (#51-53), issue #54, "Angel's Big Day", showed us how Angel was taking care of all the animals offscreen during this episode.
I have a head cannon. Fluttershy's job is to preserve nature and rehabilitate wildlife. And the animals that stay with her full time can't go back to the wild. She's also a teacher now, and that pays something. Additionally: it's also possible that fluttershy is some sort of psychologist specifically for animals. Notice that the animals stay with her, in her home. She's also the only pony we know can talk to them. She has a routine for them, feeds them, and does things like book clubs with them. TL:DR; fluttershy is a mental health professional of some kind, and her animals are seeking rehab, therapy, or sanctuary for some reason.
In this world it's well-established that the ponies maintain the natural order of the world, down to managing the weather and making sure the plants grow. Fluttershy works to take care of the local wildlife, which is probably classified as a sort of civil service job. I would guess that she is paid by the town. (Rainbow Dash was probably also paid by the town when she was working as a weather pony.)
Fluttershy could very well be an animal caretaker. We've seen her take care of Oppalessence. And during the season 3 finale, we've seen all of the Mane 6's pets as well as many different types of animals.
Didn't Sega acknowledge that?
there's also the element that it's kind of their job to get the specifics. like i'm learning to be a programmer, one of the lessons we keep getting is that we need to figure out what the job giver wants. they will be vague, and they will change their mind and contradict themselves. she may have been vague, but it's literally their job to clear any vagueness up. so yea, imo it is completely the contractors fault.
@@vinx.909 Both you and Emeree have very good points.
Except she hired the wrong types of workers. These guys works don't fit into the roles she wants them.
If I had to make a guess, I would assume that Fluttershy's job is about rehabilitation. The veterinarian takes care of the illnesses and injuries of the animals brought to her, and then Fluttershy takes them in and handles the ongoing care until they're ready to be released back to the wild.
I don't understand the running joke "What does Fluttershy even do"
It was explained in the first seasons.
@@brigidtheirish
The thing is, as soon as Rainbow Dash went to Fluttershy for a pet, it became rather obvious (to me at least) that Flutters ran a shelter.
Though the original board was kind of a mess. I think it would have been clearer if she used a bigger board so things weren't squished together.
Thank you!
@@SEGASister At least in this case it was less "poor communication kills" and more "failure to respect the client and ask questions kills."
12:39 OMC! Aramau’s voice here is too freaking adorable! Like if you agree.
Rainbow Gale true!
Amaru from Lolirock?
Ya, I agree. I put my idea down the chat if you want to look at it
That makes sense
@informed interest That could work too.
That or shes a animal rehabilitator.
I like how Ari has three moods, one being normal, one like an anime voiceover and another when you get on her bad side.
… this is honestly the best answer because it makes so much sense! Why didn’t we think of that? DX Regardless, thank you.
SEGASister

Judging from what I've seen from this episode I think that it's implied that Fluttershy is a conservationist. The equestrian version of the Department of Natural Resources.
Sees description: her job is being sassy. That is all she needs to do.

1:57 Technically, Angel isn’t the only bunny that needs bunny foot braces. There are many other bunnies Fluttershy looks after while watching over the other critters.

you know, i never really got why people were so upset that the mane six outsourced the jobs, claiming that they already have the same skillset as the ponies they hired. yes, the mane six have a SIMILAR skillset to that of the ponies the hired, but at least to me that's really just like saying a mechanic can fix a train/ship/plane because he knows how to fix a car, or that a vet can operate on a human and vice versa because they are both doctors. just because the jobs are similar doesn't mean you don't need extra or specialized knowledge you wouldn't just get out of nowhere to pull it of successfully. i mean, i guess if they really try their hardest, they can pull it of to some degree, but considering this wasn't just some half-assed attempt just for the heck of it but aimed to be the fulfillment of a lifelong dream, i think it's a good thing they hired professionals to do the job.
now if they only listened to her or tried to get her opinions on the parts they weren't sure of.
One problem her parents r alive and well plus they r even more of a push over than fluttershy
Hey Firebrand, maybe Fluttershy's job is a animal control worker who helps to ensure the proper treatment for animals, the mistreatment of animals, and to locate abandoned animals. The traits match what she does in the show so maybe this could her job. Just a thought and research.
I think fluttershy's job is about wild life rehabilitation like wild life aid on youtube
Easy Fluttershy is a Forest Ranger that is tasked with helping wild animals

@Skylynxify Reborn While I'm hoping the same thing, I'm sorry to say that probably is highly unlikely he faked it. We saw the life leave his eyes.
I've read that Fluttershy is a skilled vet, but I guess it never hurts to get a second opinion.

That thanos scene killed me.
2:12
You wanna know what Fluttershy does for a living?
Nothing. she does absolutely nothing, that can be considered an ACTUAL job. her care for the animals, is just her, using her vast amounts of free time for charitable environmental aide to the local wild life. she's not getting paid, she's not providing any wild life field reports like park rangers or some other environmentalist. This mare literal lives off the land, and has bits coming from her parents. (We've all seen her parents, it's not totally out of the question that they give her annual 'allowances')
Also, 3:58 Yes Sega. this would also explain how Fluttershy is able to get bye (if the 'parents send her $ theory isn't viable'). probably also explains why Fluttershy is so hard on her brother, so he wouldn't end up like her.
and until the show literally looks right at the camera, directly looking us the audience in the face, and out right says and explains what Fluttershy actually does for an ACTUAL JOB!!!!!! i will not change my perspective on her being a jobless mare living off the land & well-fare.
I'm pretty sure Fluttershy just lives off the land so to speak, ironic since she is a Pegasus lol
I always assumed fluttershy ran an adoption agency
Well now we know fluttershy is a teacher, so hurry for development, but too bad we could never see any of that.
HUZZAH! A new video has been posted!

*Firebrand...* if *Lunacorva* saw this and read the comments of how it was to soon to make a joke after the MCU fans were still recouping from Infinity War...? He would be very proud of you. *Anime single tear*
I relate to this a lot
My folks and I recently moved to a new city and Dad decided to look for the cheapest option in terms of movers and packers.
End result, two boxes getting lost and instead of putting our two cars in containers, both were driven. But only one turned up because the moron driving the other car decided to take it for a f***ing joyride to different cities. We finally got it back after two weeks and the car was damaged
Yikes!
Dhruv George Pretty sure you can sue for all of that. Especially the car.
Are we not gonna talk about the fact that Flutters actually has a bunny sized wheelchair for Angel?
"Fluttershy Leans In" is a really, really strange episode. It had been established way back in the first season that Fluttershy was in charge of the animal care-taking responsibilities of Ponyville, just like Rainbow Dash was in charge of all the local weather teams. They had government jobs. Why did the writers forget both of those things in later seasons?
Okay, I'm gonna say it, when the part where angel bunny hurt his foot, Fire Brand should've used the Starscream reference of the "OW MY FOOT" from the 1986 Transformers movie, which would've been so funny
11:23 Low blow dude. Low. Blow. I still have nightmares when I saw Thanos won and the Avengers lost.

Fluttershy money theory: she lives off the gold/gems from the dragon cave in Dragon Shy. We never see the dragon take his loot, and I like to think that offscreen he told Fluttershy that she could take care of it for him and use what she needed
Discord pays her bills
Nice touch with the infinity war piece
I think Fluttershy is like a breeder/shelter of sorts taking care of unwanted animals and finding homes for those who need them
Yay i come up with a similar idea as well
i'm having a weird feeling that they might reveal what she does in season 9, but most likely won't sinc it's the last season. it's a shame that the series is ending, but it was a good run. i mean going from originally 3 seasons to now 9 seasons i'm impressed that they managed to make it last this long and not feel repetetive.
The opening: COMEDY GOLD
10:32 God dammint I thought about thanks from infinity war too!!! Bloody hell
consider: her land could be a wildlife sanctuary. she is paid by the state and/or donations to look after endangers or injured animals that cant go back to the wild, at least not yet. in the humqn world, vets treat really ill or hurt animals, but sanctuarys will rehabilitate them. some can even help with small injuries that are common. idk just a thought
Testify, SEGASister! As a aspiring screenwriter, clarity and precision are all-important.
You forgot a rabbit eating meat...and I'm not talking Watership Down.
The Thanos reference is one of the best bits you've done...EVER! XD
Me: what did it cost?
Fluttershy, who had sunk all her money into that animal sanctuary: everything
About time! I was wondering where int the Yiazmat you were!
What if flutters isn’t a vet but an animal therapist (yes that’s a thing deal with it)
animal control that's my head canon anyway
Forest ranger is mine.
I always thought she was DNR
Probably from hosting fundraising events like in the Filli Vinilli episode
Conservationist of some kind
I figure Flutters also still gets some image rights money from her brief modeling career back in season one. She did official modeling shoots back in Green Isn't Your color, she was super popular for a time and so those photos probably still get used for magazines and posters from time to time
Well...I wasn't disappointed, you DID take this episode Too Seriously, like WOW! this is honestly the craziest Review I've ever seen come out of you XP
10:56 …I hate you… XD
My personal headcanon is that during Fluttershy's brief time as a model her image made a product so successful that they continue to pay her for her image.
i think fluttershys job is animal care, where she takes care of pets that come in with some kind of injury or sickness, gets them back to health and sends them back home, and a small amount of government support to care for wild animals
LOL love the TFS references and also the Thanos cameo worked a little too perfectly
To the question on what Fluttershy does for a living:
She's a ranger.
Or maybe I'm taking it too seriously *ba dum chhhh*
okay wow.
why i am crying at this part of the ep for and the video was fun to watch.
and how do the Pony's make there Gold ? the Tom and Jerry ending was so funny.
thank you.
8:18 Yep. He is actually right. Arrest this mare immediately!
2:11 fluttershy is a forest ranger for the everfree forest.
Fun fact: as IDW was just beginning to tie its latest comics into the show's canon with the "From the Shadows" three-parter (#51-53), issue #54, "Angel's Big Day", showed us how Angel was taking care of all the animals offscreen during this episode.
I feel like Fluttershy might be wildlife rescue, maybe help rehabilitate wild animals, like animal control for not typical cats and dogs
5:00 You are pulled from the wreckage of your silent reverie... Wait, aren't I supposed to be watching the episode?
This is best Fluttershy episode and I love it.
