Aye, now your doing some hardcore cold weather sailing! I have a few gear/sailing tips gathered over the years, some from difficult experiences. Neoprene face masks can really help to prevent facial freezing, especially if there's some spray. Rechargeable heated socks are great for toasty feet. Snowmobile gear is less expensive than foul weather gear. Quite important to not get chilled, causes both physical and mental acuity problems, easier to flap your jacket a few times if getting overheated. I lived aboard on Nantucket for several years, one thing that helped was a carpet remnant I cut for the cabin sole (made a cardboard template, and cut the carpet on the dock). Tossed it once the weather warmed up. A Dickenson stove served me well except in blizzards when the flame would get blown out. Sailing tips: cold air is dense. This point has always been a forehead slapper for me, wondering why I've been so overpowered. It really makes a big difference on the air pressure for the sails. Along this same vein, winter squalls can really pack a punch! Note that in a few weeks you're putting on more wear than many people do in a season, so chafe on halyards/reefing lines, etc can happen fast. The other problem with late season/winter sailing is length of daylight. Wish you all the best, and fair winds!
So far it's been working great. In more intricate areas it has a hard time doing the dock to dock auto routing which is annoying and it lags just a little sometimes (maybe from overheating?) But otherwise, it's been good to us!
Dimillos Marina would have been a better place to tuck into with your dingy. The town pier is rough and the schooner charter people think they own it but they don't. Those old schooner crew smell and drink like fish. I tied up behind one with my 50ft Steel Ketch for a winter and had to replace all of my anodes that spring because they leaked current and had like 20 cords going into their boat. The summer in Portland is real nice but you get a lot of cruise ship people too. I lived and sailed out of there for 15 yrs. It's full of crazy liberal socialist Bernie Sanders kooks. 😄

Don't go out sailing long distances without an autohelm! A windvane would also be a great upgrade.
It's definitely nice to have one 🤌🏻
