Great video per the usual! After a 13 year hiatus, I started getting back into paintball (previously D-4 and was close to D-3 APPA points). Most of your points about gaining dominance, finding the paint, and fear of dying held me back in a recent tournament once in the finals. I would love your insight on the situation I faced. The opposing team sent a D-side player to a wedge (just like the layout in the video), holding a lane waiting for me to make the 30 bump (important Dorito as it was the widest on the field). I felt "stuck," he locked me down for most of the points we played. I couldn't figure out a solution and we had zero time between points to talk as a team (the tournament had a hard cut-off time). Not sure if that becomes someone else's job to run him down or if I gunfight with him. I felt like I was just sitting inside doing nothing most of the points. Thank you in advance!
Love this question! Could you link the layout and I could give a more educated answer? Also, If you’re able, tell me where your teammates were as well. There’s always something more we can do as players. The trade off is always how risky it is for YOU to do a particular task/job. I’m sure you could have done something to try and get yourself out of that situation, but it also may have been wildly risky. Link the layout and I’ll talk further! 😁
@@SVPPaintball Thank you for the reply! I agree completely. I was trying to assess the risk/reward. I will attach the link at the end of my comment. My team played the home, Delta (D-wedge) doing the same thing to the opponent's D-side player, one in money (the can next to home), and one player in the snake. I ran to the widest D-side cake running and gunning, taking dominance, waiting for the D-gap to clear up, and bumping into the 10 and getting "stuck". The 20 was small and didn't provide much of a benefit. I would stay inside and shot blind shots at the money and snake corner. I would also look inside for god/home if I heard it was occupied. The 30 gap was just being hammered by the Delta, waiting for me to move up. I got to the 30 two out of the four points (Race to 2). I’ll actually try to cover this scenario on stream tonight at 8:00pm MST (twitch.tv/ZEAKINHD). Tune in if you want to see it live! Otherwise I’ll post my thoughts after that :) thanks for the comment! This will be interesting to explore!
@@SVPPaintball I saw your reply on twitch this morning; thank you for the in-depth response. I like the idea of getting crafty and backing off to find some shots. I need to think more outside the box in practices to find angles. I also agree that our mirror could’ve run him down as well. There were options for sure. We should’ve ironed this scenario out during our practice before the tournament. Live and learn! Thank you again.
Hey just an FYI - i clicked 6 links from your gear listing in the description. 5 were either N/A or 404. (good job on content btw and i thought you might want to know-to-update as i assume you get some revenue from this)
Hey! Thanks for letting me know. I actually lost out on the affiliate program, but I was hoping that the links would persist. Thank you for letting me know!
Because I keep goin for the run down instead of staying calm and collective. I didn't buy this cs2 for running but rather gun fighting. Oh well. All fair in love n war
