- We get inspiration from everywhere and today's tutorial was inspired by Aelesa Howell. She posted a photo last year in my VIP group and it inspired me to make this design for my Dad for Father's Day. This is a great design for the avid outdoorsmen in your life. I LOVE this!!!! I am working on mine now. I think I'm going to use black spray paint and then tan spray paint and see what that looks like. We'll see. A lot of times what is in my head doesn't transfer in reality. Lol

Gorgeous!! I hope to try a peek a boo soon. I'm wondering how you manage the heat and humidity with resin (I'm in Florida too) and not have weird things happen to the resin?
Thank you! I try to be quick with how long I have my garage door open for ventilation so I don’t let too much humidity in. Then I close my garage door as soon as I’m done putting my tumblers on the turner and go inside. I don’t go back out for a couple of hours and air out my room. I haven’t had any issues with the humidity messing with the epoxy yet lol
@@SandysOrganizedChaos thank you for responding. I work in our Lanai which has windows with screens but no a/c. I created a drying space that's enclosed for the pieces I've worked on but I've had some odd reactions. I will keep trying. Y'all have a great 4th!

#sandymademedoit. ☺️ I made a tumbler! I put glitter down using tack it. Clear sealed it. Layed down vinyl in leopard pattern, spray painted a different color and then removed vinyl. Did 3 thin layers of resin, torched and spun 24 hrs and I can still feel the leopard pattern. Am I not applying enough resin?
Definitely sounds like you just need one more coat of epoxy and it will be nice and smooth 🤗
Do you apply the decal before u apply the epoxy at the end of your video ?
I would like to try this technique. So I need a gloss base coat? Or is it ok to start with a flat base coat?
For the main base with the fish over top a flat is fine. But for the woodgrain look I recommend a gloss white. It makes the inks flow better 💜

if you forget to do the epoxy over the fish but you did tape them off and spray painted did I mess yo my cup
