  • Joshua Toomey interviews Cody Quistad of Wage War, discussing Cody's work with Jelly Roll, Ronnie Radke, and The Ghost Inside. Cody shares insights into his musical journey, including early influences and his transition to country music songwriting. The new Wage War record "Stigma" is promoted, and the interview highlights Cody's evolution and collaborations. Songwriting and producing have always been Cody's favorite parts of music because of the creative rush when everything clicks. Growing up with musician parents who worked at Disney and toured with bands, Cody was surrounded by music, which inspired his passion from an early age. His first band experiences included local talent shows and playing at various small venues before forming Wage War in 2010. Their big break came with the Warped Tour in 2016, which significantly boosted Thier exposure and marked a pivotal moment in our journey. Cody talks about their excitement for their new music, emphasizing their passion for creating and performing. They discussed the inspiration behind their song "Tombstone," which includes heavy riffs and movie references, showcasing their creative process. The upcoming album, "Stigma," set for release on June 21st, features ten diverse tracks aimed at pushing the boundaries of their sound. Cody reflects on the band's journey, their evolving musical style, and the collaborative effort involved in their songwriting process.

You’re watching one of the greatest metalcore songwriters to ever live. I’d argue that he’s the greatest metalcore songwriter ever. The level of talent that this man has is insane. I wish I could write music like him.

Same. I added songs by them earlier today without realizing he worked with Ronnie/FIR. Then again I'm fairly new to this kind of music. WW is really good!

Im not a very critical listener of music, if i dig it, cool, if i dont, i dont. I will say, Stigma wqs an odd and chaotic listen first time around, was different, like I Prevail's newest album True Power, different sound, and the first playthrough was like, ehhh idk, but give it a 2nd listen, and it hits and i love it. Just a different style,s gotta mix it up a little. Its definitely not like Asking Alexandria sad to me transformation

My honest opinion is that jelly roll is the most overrated artist of the past decade and EVERYONE is just simply cashgrabbing by featuring him on their songs. His voice doesn't even fit most of the music he's featured on. At least in the rock or metal genre. The new Falling in Reverse song with him on it is unlistenable. His husky, twangy voice is NOT complimentary whatsoever. It may work on his solo work, but not as a metal collaboration. It's SOOO obviously a cash grab.

I don’t see eye to eye with you. I think Jelly Roll is an incredible vocalist. But I don’t think Ronnie got him as a cash grab. He doesn’t need it. He could have gotten probably any country singer he wanted. But it’s so cool to see the genres collab. Rock and country guys are a lot a like.

Stigma was such a fall from manic..... im a HUGE fan. I was so upset i cried ( i know im pathetic) but i was so disappointed in pressure then manic pepped me up and now stigma.... i will never understand why band blows up then they change their sound and whole production.... i dont understand. Now im drifting to @InventAnimate .. people give them a listen. They are consistent and worth the listen.
