  • Legendary drummer Carmine Appice has a new Cactus album scheduled for release in June, 2024 and features musical contributions by Joe Bonamassa, Dee Snider, Pat Travers, Warren Haynes, Vernon Reid, Steve Stevens, Ted Nugent, Johnny A, Ty Tabor and Dug Pinnick, Billy Sheehan, Tony Franklin, Tim "Ripper" Ownens, Phil Soussan, Rudy Sarzo, Kenny Aaronson, members of Government Mule, Vixen, Rainbow, Zebra, and Whitesnake and Original Cactus guitarist Jim McCarty and Appice's Vanilla Fudge bandmate Mark Stein.
"Vanilla Fudge" Carmine Appice's album was released in 1967 - the band broke up in 1970 and reformed again several times. They toured with the Grateful Dead, Cream, Steve Miller and Jimi Hendrix, and when Led Zeppelin first toured the States they opened for Vanilla Fudge in 1969. The original band "Cactus" was formed by bassist Tim Bogart and Appice - who eventually formed the supergroup Beck, Bogert & Appice (BBA) with British guitarist Jeff Beck. Cappice has played for Edgar Winter, Pink Floyd, Ozzy, King Kobra and published The Realistic Rock Drum Method, which has sold almost half a million copies as the first "rock drumming" tutorial.
