Crops look OK those last field look really well. The cover crop looks very behind mark, was it drilled late or just not grown? That's a hell of a pile of concrete, it's that for crushing and roadways! Where's it from?
The lagoon we built there used to be a 100000G slurry tank that we used to store dung. We had to dig is out to build the lagoon. That where it came from. The cover was late sown. First week of September I thought it would do better but unfortunately not. If I can track down some slurry for it I’m going to apply it to one field in January and see what it looks like before we have to sow spring barley. See if there’s more value in the crop with slurry or just applying slurry to the field if that makes sense
Thanks Darragh, we did in the spring yes but that ground has been left till a spring crop, we have also been talking to the land owner and hope to have a plan to combat the rabbit issue once and for all, and with this plan we have agreed a new 7 year lease so 🤞
Daddy was beef finishing up till 2003 and he switched to 100% tillage and a little bit of contracting. I much prefer the tillage as I’m not a stock person at all
Is the tractor wheel markings in the barley from the rolling tractor?
Yea. Instead of running the bigger 650 tyres on the rolling tractor we just used the 520s that we use for hedgecutting. Mistake i won’t make again
