We’re swimming in Masseys

We add another Massey Ferguson to our ranks. I explain the thinking behind the new purchase along with our thinking on the Massey 7720. Looking forward to seeing the both at silage

Did you get drilled up all you wanted?
Great to see you Mark. It's been a long time. With the amount of work I'm not surprised you've not been in the mood for videoing and uploading plus what these bloody nutty govs are doing. They shouldn't be there.
It is very hard to get the time to do everything but I do enjoy making these videos. We did thankfully get everything we wanted to sown. But I know there are people out there who didnt
How did the min till work out last season?
Some fields done great others not as much done 110 acres of min till last year only 27 acres staying in the same field
Did I see the fendt for sale? Will you go with another fendt or stick with MF?
We are looking at green but nothing confirmed yet
Good vid. Were you not impressed by the mchale rake, haven't seen anyone with their mowers or rakes round here tbh
Sore subject
I’ve heard that the mowers are a savage weight compared to competitors. There not very thought of.
Very heavy and blades very soft
But very bad after sales service
@@markdaynes9154 yeah heard that, they're known too long now as a great brand and they've dropped it. Every day more krone round here, decent machines but more important local man as a dealer, can't go wrong tbh
Good to see you're filled up Mark. I hope it yields.
Me too!
It's easy enough for the drone but depending on the weather aswell
Ha. That presupposes I’m capable of multitasking
The drill leaves a lovely finish.
We got shocking showers here in Carlow town area today made drilling testing to say the least
The odd shower here today was a stuggle
Nice one Mark, you re getting plenty use for the Volvo. Thanks for taking the time.
Great machine that Volvo
Completely different weather up there in Wicklow Mark.We can hardly walk in fields at moment here in Cork.
Lord TikTok makes it look like cork is having all the fun
can't trust another mans cable ties
Bloody weather! Least you managed to get a few beans in, and some fert on.
Bloody lucky so we were
New to your channel, thanks for the videos📹🚜👍Hope the weather improves soon, its been winter for too long.😒
Thanks for tuning in Dermot stay in touch
Always good to share stories like these, you never know it might help someone else solve the same problem quicker.
Ha. Hopefully it helps me solve my problem
Tom Murphy ?
Tom Murphy ?
Interesting story Mark. You re right, its a grand tractor to have in the background, rather than take poor money as a trade in.
Great tractor when she’s going.
Good video ...if you were back in 2005 knowing what you know now about the 6490 would you buy it again ??
Ha. See I was 11 so I wasn’t consulted but the difference between Massey and Fendt was minuscule at the time so I’d have pushed for that
What hours on the tractor mark ?
Just under 12000
Sounds like a job for father Phil!!!!
He’s more than welcome to try 😂
You should have went to a good massey dealership at the beginning, let them sort it, if they don't they have to stand over their work, failing all that u can go to massey directly and let them talk to the dealership and sort it out
I had thought it was a good dealership however when push came to shove I’d recommend everyone to avoid them
Dont think the sound is working Mark
Oh sorry about the Kieran I can’t figure out why that is when I click in on the camera laptop and TH-cam on the phone I can hear it ? What sort of device are you using ?
@@markdaynes9154works for me anyway
Working good now. On Samsung tablet. Maybe i did something wrong
Ah my internet was very bad for uploading so it could have been behind
Serious dry field 😮
😂😂😂 eh no 😂
What make is the dribbler bar?
Agquip. Seems good enough
Morning mate. New sub here.have a good day.
Nice to hear from you drop me a message any time
Another good video hopefully it'll all dry up an everything be getting done
From your mouth to gods ear
Do you prefer the 17 knife baler over the 25 knife baler
I actually don’t have an opinion on them. I like the concept of the 25 knife baler as a finer chop but the running costs are much higher
Ever think about a nurse tank when your out that far ?
Good video btw 👌
I’ve thought about a lot of things 😂 I’m not sure a nurse than would make sense when we can do the 20k gallons an hour you’d need 4-5 tankers to try maintain that with a nurse tank and if the tankers were drawing 20k gallons an hour the pipes would be doing 30-35000g because of how short the pipes are. We are looking into a nurse tank for off farm jobs but doesn’t make sense for that one
Best of luck with the new system 👍🏻
Pull the handbrake on before you get out and the pto will stay turning
Thank you. I actually found out that with the new soft wear when you get off the seat a timer comes on on the dash and you have to hit ok on the steering wheel and she’ll stay going then
Well lad I’m wondering did you buy that 870 from Kilkenny off a man called PJ Culleton
I’m afraid I bought it from Kelly’s of Borris in 2018 and that’s all the history I have on it. 😂
@@markdaynes9154 o right I think that’s the one does she have a red light on d back of her
No only just the brake/parking lights, thinking about it there’s an impression of scally on the side of it where there was probably a sticker at one point ??
@@markdaynes9154 is she a 2011
No 2009
Great to see you back Mark. You've added or changed several implements since i last saw you post. Lovely machinery you've got. Let's hope this year is a goodun.
Can’t be as bad as last year anyway Robert
Good video good machines nice to see you back again ... i seen a lad carry that pipe along side the cab like some of them sowers have when you have the pipe going from the frount tank to the back 1
I may look into that. First impressions would be I’d be concerned about the slurry leaking down the side of the mudguard onto the exhaust and battery casing
Impressive yard of machinery, would you not go for a set of kverneland triples with groupers now that yous have the power with the 7726
We bought the 26 for the sole purpose of haulage either silage or slurry so the Fendt 724 will stay mowing especially now with the gps. And only other factor. Have you seen the price for triples I’d buy two new sets of doubles for the same money 🙈😂
You need an mx 170 😉😝
You find me a good tight clean one and I’ll buy it brilliant machine e
You need an mx 170 😝

Welcome back Mark. Great to see you back on TH-cam!
Thanks. I do always enjoy it
Interested to see how the umbilical kit gets on.
Me too. If you have any tips I only have a few days under my belt
good to see you back. Just walking round the shed there did you say before ye were going to change it or something? Did ye get that done
The workshop ? It was a dumping ground for years so we have put in shelves and we’re starting to fill them out but it’s taking time
Good to see you back Mark😊
Thanks william
Thanks Mark, good to see you back.Very interesting tour, thanks. How are you finding the D max ? Is it the 3 litre ? Also great year to have all that barley seed with the price and scarcity of it this year.
Love that dmax poor thing is most abused machine in the yard 380000km and only got a clutch at 300000 and general servicing and yea 3l. I’m feeling very lucky having it there and luckily I had only exactly enough
Best of luck with the umbilical system some job
Thanks I’ll need it
Good video mark ver good to see u back I like washing the machines but with the weather at the minute it’s so hard too keep them clean nice outfit I’d certainly be happy if I had them machines 👍
I am very proud of the business we have built up
Great to see ya back , may keep at it now
Hopefully
Good to see ya back Mark
Thanks I just hope I can keep it up
Good to see you back. Remember when them Gillespie trailers were the smyth’s / broughans of their day 😂
I do. Best trailer ever made
Welcome back Mark, good to see the videos again
Thank you
Nice look round video Thanks
