    What a great video to give tribute to Century 3. Love Wallie, Nate and rest of the gang goofing off. The music is such a nice touch.

    Subscribed. Hope you upload more stuff. I watch dead mall videos, but your take on it is so spot on as far as me. Whenever we traveled the mall was always a stop. As a kid it was a toy or sports cards, as a teen it was music or girls, it was an adventure.

    This was an excellent video! I like the way you express your thoughts about not only this mall, but ultimately the types of things this mall represents. Just because a thing or concept is an old or outdated idea doesn't make it something to just throw away, rather we should cherish these formative places and experiences that make us all who we are. Much respect!

    I can tell you working there the reason why the mall went under was bad management staff for the mall they basically took the money and ran Moonbeam bought it and promised a brand new Shopping Center and they did nothing but the same thing it was just a tax write-off I guarantee you if management wasn't as bad as they were for that mall that mall would still be driving like South Hills Village

      It seems like that's whats happening to a lot of these places, bad management.

    I've been fascinated by Century III since I first found out about through Sal's channel which lead me here. I'm flying into Pittsburgh at the end of May on my way to Ohio and I really really hope the mall can hold on a little bit longer until I can see it with my own eyes. I'd love to walk those halls in person.

    Century III is my favorite mall. I grew up with it and have quite a few memories there. This video is wonderful. The Midnight (excellent music choice) works great for this. I am happy you didn't need to go into how this mall became the way it is or what could be done. It honestly would of brought the point of your video down. Your reasoning behind why folks visit these near dead retail outlets is dead on. Was nice seeing this after a long day.
    You got a like and a subscribe. Thanks for the video.

    Why does something like this matter? Why is it important? Because malls were part of many peoples childhood. They mean something and tear them down and put up "lifestyle centers" and shop on line naked or in your boxers it's not the same. (FYI I don't know how lifestyle centers can survive in the winter months with cold and wind and snow flying about. The Wierdo would so LOVE going to lifestyle center to shop in the winter.
    Is your narration off the top of your head or do you prepare something? It's great analogy much like your reflections on your KMart closing. Each one of your dead mall documentarian buds with you at Century III has their own style and theme. But you all share the common purpose of preserving a great retail experiment that failed in some ways, won in others.
    Keep vidoes like this common. You are like the Justice League of dead mall artists (Aces Adventures is another.) Imagine the great work you can all do.
    Thanks for this.

      Whenever I do a voiceover I usually write my thoughts into a word document first and then speak it. For this video it took me around 20-30 minutes to write the script, but for others it has taken up to an hour, or in the case of the 5 part doc on Moon Kmart that took me several months to complete

  • @NathanDavisVideos

    Very philosophical for you for making this video. Too bad since the recording of this video; the place is now abandoned -- and the future is STILL unknown for THE PITTSBURGHER MALL. And lately with this pandemic and also the unrest that has seem to have popped-up around this nation (especially over the murder of George Floyd, and also a president that doesn't give a shit about the rest of us -- unless if we're his fuck-buddies and "followers") I don't know what the future of -- not only Century 3 -- but ALSO this whole nation holds.
    I guess it probably is a good time to look back at a simpler -- and may I add -- less scary time for ALL OF US.

    Dead malls/department stores good new subject! Like(☆);). I use to ♡♡ the mall, the policy stopping kids from being there without parents &eventually the Internet put the nail in the coffin.

    I liked the video but why do people think if you shop online you are lazy? I have two jobs, plus heavily involved in church, have two kids that do activities and live 20 minutes from the nearest mall, Walmart or Target. Am I supposed to spend my free time driving to and from stores? I shop online all the time. How am I lazy?

    • @ChannelBoogaloo
      @ChannelBoogaloo  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Shopping online itself is not laziness. I shop online too. We all probably do. It’s just the people that decide they don’t need to go to the store at all anymore and get EVERYTHING shipped to them. One of my roommates is like that and it bothers me so much. She gets like 2-4 packages every day from Amazon and it’s stuff like pet food, toiletries, and other things that you can easily go to the store for. It’s people like that that are closing malls and stores down everywhere, costing jobs from these places and putting them in monopolized Amazon warehouses that treat their employees like garbage (I worked in an Amazon Fulfillment Center for 7 months, and I can confirm that what you read online about poor working conditions at Amazon are completely true).

    • @caragarcia2307
      @caragarcia2307 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ChannelBoogaloo people used to say the same thing about Walmart before Amazon. I wonder what will be Amazon's Amazon. It would be nice to know, everyone could buy stocks.
